Zee Theatre is celebrating the birth anniversary of eminent playwright Vijay Tendulkar with teleplays Khamosh Adalat Jaari Hai and Sakharam B. Tendulkar redefined Marathi theatre with his searing commentaries on socio-political issues and often rattled conventions and questioned oppressive norms. Both teleplays perfectly exemplify the incisive and powerful writing that Tendulkar's peerless oeuvre stands for. Khamosh Adalat Jaari Hai is an adaptation of his 1967 Marathi classic Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe and Sakharam B is based on the 1972 masterpiece Sakharam Binder.

Written and directed by Amit Rai and produced by Amit Chheda, the release of film Road To Sangam - Confluence is pushed to December 2009 - January 2010. "This is a very special project for us and we need to market it in a very unique manner. This would require more time. October 2nd, is appropriate date but it is too soon to implement all our ideas. So we decided to push the release ahead," comments the producer Mr Amit Chheda.
From the banner of Gipsy Films, Road to Sangam is a simple story of a God fearing, devout Muslim mechanic named Hashmat Ullah (Paresh Rawal). A renowned mechanic by profession, he is entrusted the job of repairing an old V8 Ford Engine, unaware that it was once used to carry ashes of Mahatma Gandhi to immerse in the 'Sangam' of holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati. Its historic significance becomes Hashmat Ullah's bane and salvage.
