So the whole stereotype about us bloggers sitting at home in our pajamas and living off Ramen? It's pretty true. But there's another side to our lives that involves brushing our hair, putting on clean shirts and practicing social skills, and that's conducting interviews with the real-life celebrities we're normally sitting at home critiquing. Despite my best efforts to get James McAvoy or Jesse Eisenberg to fall in love with me, none of these interviews have changed my life in the slightest-- but I guess in the Hollywood version, they will. Blogger-turned-producer Robert Sanchez (he of IESB fame) and his Death Ray films have greenlit Journies, a romantic comedy about a guy whose interview with a famous actress suddenly turns into a date. Jaime King has signed on to star as the actress, with Grant Boucher making his directorial debut-- Boucher's previous work has been as a visual effects producer...

"Journies" is the story of an online journalist who gets a one-on-one interview with a hot celebrity and snags a date with her. You know this is make believe because I ask out all the hot celebrity chicks and they just laugh in my face. Which means they would never date a journo because nobody is better looking than I am.Here's more from THR:Grant Boucher will write and direct the romantic comedy feature "Journies" for Death Ray Films. You see, all you kiddie, movie bloggers. If you keep up with your writing, eat your vegetables, and make some connections, you can get somewhere in this business. IESB’s Robert Sanchez and Shock Till You Drop’s Ryan Rotten are among the executive producers on I, Frankenstein. The Heat Vision Blog is reporting Lakeshore has picked up the script and the production reigns on the film, which Death Ray Films has had in its sights since April. Patrick Tatopoulos is set to direct.
The new film will be a modernized tale featuring the classic monster as well as other monsters of classic, Universal fame. Set in the world of film noir, the film follows Frankenstein, who is a private detective, as he stands between the human race and supernatural creatures set on wiping it out.

My homeboy Robert Sanchez (I have homies. I do. I swear.) over at IESB got himself involved in a horror production with Shocktillyoudrop's Ryan Rotten for a new retelling of the Frankenstein legend called I, Frankenstein. Of course, my feelings are hurt since I wasn't asked to be involved in the production. Vatos Locos forever! Remember that Robert?? We got our placas together when we took out those punks Tres Puntos! The Hollywood Reporter has more:Lakeshore, the production-financing outfit behind the “Underworld” movie series, is readying what it hopes will be its next action-horror franchise, “I, Frankenstein.” The company has preemptively picked up the script for the comic book adaptation from Death Ray Films, which began developing the project in April. The project has “Underworld” roots. It’s based on a comic from “Underworld” co-creator Kevin Grevioux, who wrote the script for “Frankenstein,” and “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” helmer...

Kevin Grevioux is a name whom most Underworld fans will be instantly acquainted with. The big man had a hand in writing each of the films as well as playing the role of recurring character Raze the Lycan. There's no doubt Kevin kicked ass both on and off screen in those films, but it's his latest project that he wrote called I, Frankenstein that has us most excited!
Recently I sat down with Grevioux to get the scoop and, man, was he ready to dish it.
"I've always loved Frankenstein," Grevioux tells Dread Central. "But what I really want to do is to take the classic monsters of lore that I loved as a kid and try to spin them on their heads and twist them around a little bit to give them a new life. Just like I did with Underworld, I thought to myself, 'What haven't we seen before?...

All I had to hear was "classic monsters," "film noir," and "comic book" before I was interested. Yep, that's all it takes, filmmakers ... but this one sounds like it could be very fun indeed. Looks like Kevin Grevioux, one of the co-creators of the whole crazy Underworld series, is tackling a new project that will make the Vamps vs. Lycans trilogy look like a rainy day at the zoo. Sources indicate that the project "brings back many beloved classic monsters including Frankenstein's Monster, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Invisible Man, Dracula, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde plus many more, in a re-imagined contemporary setting."
The project is called I, Frankenstein, and will be based on Grevioux's upcoming comic book of the same name. On board to direct is Rise of the Lycans helmer Patrick Tatopoulos, and producers include Chris Patton and Robert Sanchez of Death Ray Films, as well as...

Due to a scheduling conflict (he's currently shooting Dead of Night), Kevin Munroe won't be able to direct War Monkeys, the upcoming action comedy being produced by IESB's Robert Sanchez. Styd is reporting that Fanboys director Kyle Newman (seen above) will fill in for Munroe and direct the film. As a reminder, War Monkeys is about two janitors who get trapped in an underground research facility full of an army of military-trained research monkeys. The script was written by Cleve Nettles (All Over Again) and is based on a story by Chris Patton (Monarch of the Moon). Dark Horse Indie is developing the project. "Monkeys, guns, explosions. As a genre freak, I couldn't ask for anything more," Munroe said previously in regards to War Monkeys. We originally reported that this project was in development with Munroe late last year. One could easily say that what most films these days are missing is a caped zombie luchador. Luckily, there is one upcoming film in which that will not be the case. Kevin Munroe's 2005 graphic novel, El Zombo Fantasma is about to be made into a movie. Munroe himself will direct and his production company, Death Ray Films is set to fund the flick. Kevin Munroe has been busy, getting his hands into the movie industry. The comic book author recently created his production company, Death Ray Films, with Chris Patton and Robert Sanchez, whom you may know as the proprietor of IESB. Munroe is already directing the upcoming comic adaptations, War Monkeys and Dead of Night. Although fairly new to movies, it seems that the author has not strayed too far from his geeky past. Now, another first for Munroe: one of his comics is being made into a flick.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Dark Horse graphic novel El Zombo Fantasma has been optioned by Death Ray Films (also the brains behind War Monkeys) and Maya Entertainment. Kevin Munroe, co-creator of the book, will adapt and direct the film.
