While watching Modern Family over the past ten years, have you ever looked at the opening credits and thought it was so cool that Christopher Lloyd was the executive producer, thinking all the while that it was the lovable Christopher Lloyd from the show Taxi, and the Back to the Future movies? Yeah, me neither. I definitely didn’t just figure out that the producer of Modern Family was a totally different guy. But this Lloyd is no schlub. He has worked on the hit series Modern Family, as well as Frasier, which are two of my favorite shows. And now he and star and patriarch of Modern Family Ed O’Neill are creating a new spy podcast called The Undercovers.
Deadline describes the podcast by saying, “The Undercovers combines the truth about what it’s like to be an undercover agent with the drama of being a covert operative.

‘Inside Star Wars’ Re-Creates First Day of Shooting: Falling Droids, Grumpy Jedi and Jesus (Podcast)
It was March 22, 1976 — the first day of shooting “Star Wars.” As Mark Ramsey’s new “Inside Star Wars” podcast reimagines those first hours in the Tunisian desert, it was a period of falling droids, an unlikely cameo by Jesus Christ, and lots of doubt from Sir Alec Guinness. You can listen to an exclusive clip on Apple or right here.
Ramsey is the host of the previous hit Wondery podcasts “Inside Jaws” and “Inside Psycho,” among others. Through research, a little imagination and stunning sound design, he and producer Jeff Schmidt re-create the grueling process of bringing now-classic films to life.

The creators of the “Inside Jaws” podcast are turning their attention to Jonathan Demme’s stigma-shattering “Philadelphia” to mark the 25th anniversary of the Tom Hanks-Denzel Washington drama — and raise money to fight HIV/AIDS worldwide.
The 1993 film helped put a human face on the virus at a time when patients suffered horrific discrimination and ignorance. That is still true in much of the world, and through an arrangement with Coca-Cola, 100 percent of donations made by listeners of the podcast will go to support the (Red) campaign to rid the world of AIDS.
Host Mark Ramsey, who created the podcast with audio designer Jeff Schmidt, told TheWrap that he sought and received the blessing of Hanks, Washington, “Philadelphia” screenwriter Ron Nyswaner, and Joanne Howard, wife of Demme, who died last year at 73.

What a wonderful world indeed: “Pops,” a podcast about the life of music legend Louis Armstrong, is the next project from the team behind the “Inside Jaws” podcast. “Good Girls” actor Reno Wilson will play Armstrong, narrating his life story, in the series expected to premiere in early 2019.
The six-part series is written by Mark Ramsey, writer and host of “Inside Jaws,” “Inside Psycho” and “Inside The Exorcist,” with sound design by his production partner, Jeff Schmidt. Mark Ramsey’s new “Inside Jaws” podcast, which tells the story of the first summer blockbuster and Steven Spielberg’s agonizing journey from struggling filmmaker to virtuoso, is already drawing interest as a possible TV adaptation, Ramsey told TheWrap.

“Inside Jaws” is an immersive podcast from Wondery that re-creates not only Spielberg’s doubts and struggles as 1975’s “Jaws” far exceeded its schedule and budget, but also the calamitous shark attacks that inspired the film.
“Inside Jaws” even takes us to the deli where Peter Benchley, the author whose novel inspired the film, first got the encouragement to write the story — and name it “Jaws.

Mark Ramsey knows that it’s sometimes best to hide the star of the show until the moment is absolutely right. It’s why, in the first episode of “Inside Psycho,” a new six-part series about the birth, production and aftermath of the 1960 horror classic, you won’t hear the words “shower” or “Leigh” or “Hitchcock” or “Universal.”
It’s a particularly striking debut, not just because of the delayed introduction of the expected cast of characters. In opening this “Psycho” origin story with a 25-minute overview of the life and crimes of Plainfield, Wisconsin serial killer Ed Gein, Ramsey makes an early case that the best path to understanding the film is via a circuitous route, one with an ever-changing narrative perspective. And plenty of “Mother.”
This trail, particularly in its opening salvo, is unapologetically soaked in goo and gore. (“The following contains mature content,” Ramsey explains at the top of the premiere.
