Retired from coaching following the 1999 season with the Orlando Magic.
Played college basketball at Bloomsburg(PA) University.
(1989, 1990) Led the Detroit Pistons to back to back NBA championships.
The head coach of the First NBA Dream Team, which many considered to be the greatest ever assembled. (1992)
Is a graduate of Kane (PA) High School.
Considered one of the greatest coaches in NBA history.
Inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. (1994)
Was the first coach to win both an NBA title and Olympic gold.
Coached eight seasons at Punxsutawney (PA) High School, then spent six years as an assistant at Duke University.
Retired at age 68 because he was tired of traveling. He split his retirement living in suburban Detroit and Jupiter, Florida.
Has one daughter, Cydney, and two grandchildren Sabrina and Connor.
He is survived by his daughter, Cydney Daly, and two grandchildren.
