The political drama "House of Cards," a remake of a British miniseries, makes its big premiere today. What network is it on? Well, it's not really on television. In the vein of pop classic "Video Killed the Radio Star," executive producer David Fincher and actor Kevin Spacey are attempting to, in a sense, "kill" the television medium.
"House of Cards" has cut out the middle man and partnered with the top internet video streaming company, Netflix. We got that, but what day will each new episode be released? Umm, today. Netflix has decided to put all of its "Cards" on the table at once. They are releasing the 13 episode series simultaneous, giving the viewer the option of watching it on their own schedule.
At the red carpet premiere for the series, actress Kristen Connolly says that the format is "reflective of the way people watch TV now.

Essential info: It's no secret that Philadelphia is a hotbed for hip-hop talent. In the 1980s, it was Schoolly D who helped put Philly on the map with his 1986 hip-hop classic "P.S.K. What Does It Mean?" Of course, the Fresh Prince followed a few years later, then the Roots. In the late 1990s, Jay-z introduced Beanie Sigel to the world, and Maybach Music's Meek Mill is currently the city's most recognizable rap figure.
Still more and more raw rap talent continues to break out of Illadelphia's borders, and the latest contender, Tone Trump, was handpicked by Young Jeezy. These days, a street rapper can't get a bigger co-sign.

Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne's names all continue to circulate as the next possible judge on "The X Factor." Yesterday, our very own James Montgomery broke down the strengths and weaknesses of each of the ladies.
Now, it's time for the MTV Newsroom to weigh in.

Ever since I watched the “Stay Strong” documentary on her, I've been obsessed with Demi Lovato. She's so talented and warm and willing to put herself out there! The contestants and audience will love her for it.
Ade Mangum, Segment Producer
Let's be real. Everyone would want to see Britney as the new "X Factor" judge. Why? Who doesn't want to tune in just to hear what she'll say next ... informative or embarrassing? It'll generate Twitter trending topics, slang and we might even start using the term "you've been Spear'd." Let's get Brit on there!

"Game of Thrones" fans have a lot to be excited about. A brand-new 10-episode season is set to premiere Sunday night, bringing viewers back to the wicked world of Westeros for the first time since poor Ned lost his head in the spring of 2011. With the series' de facto protagonist dead and gone, it's time for other characters to step up and fill the void — such as the heroic Robb Stark, the villainous Joffrey Baratheon, and even the morally ambiguous Tyrion Lannister. As "Thrones" moves further along in author George R.R. Martin's original "Song of Ice and Fire" timeline, fans can expect more and more cheers, jeers and flat-out dumbfounding shocks all season long.

The true measure of a classic album is not its immediate impact, but rather its ability to stand the test of time. On November 29, 1994, Mary J. Blige released her groundbreaking My Life LP, and on November 23, almost 17 years to the day, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul will be celebrating with a special Mary J. Blige My Life concert at New York's Terminal 5.
"I think My Life is so relevant now and will always be relevant. Every rap crew needs a go-to destination for their beats. Rick Ross is aware of this and inked producer Aone, who is building up quite a reputable discography, to his Maybach Music Group.
Aone produced "10 Bricks," featuring Ymcmb's Birdman, which appeared on Rozay's Ashes to Ashes mixtape. The upstart has also hooked up tracks for Mmg members, including Triple C's and Masspike Miles, as well as the Outlawz, French Montana and others. He is also working on a project with former G-Unit rapper Young Buck called Bond Money and will be handling all of its production. Not bad for a guy from another continent.

Back when Lil Wayne was a baby-faced teen, it was producer Mannie Fresh who was the driving force behind Cash Money's sound. It may be hard to imagine these days, but Fresh's booming 808s and bouncy bass lines laid the foundation for Cash Money's early catalog.
After meeting Cm CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams in the mid-1990s, Mannie jumped onboard as the label's in-house producer. In 2005, Mannie split from the label, and Cash Money has marched on, dominating the rap charts with artists like Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj.
So what does Mannie Fresh think of the new Cash Money sound? MTV News caught up with Fresh at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, to find out.

The "On to the Next One" producer confirmed that he has already contributed tracks to Watch the Throne and that he may land more before the project is done. "I'm getting up there. Give me another week," he teased.
It was August 2010 when Kanye first announced the album on Twitter, and though Watch the Throne still doesn't have a set release date, Swizzy believes that it will satisfy fans' hunger.
"That album is also worth the wait as well," he said of Watch the Throne...

Ice Cube is an accomplished actor and director who regularly brings cash to the box office via family-friendly fare like "Are We There Yet?" and comedies like the "Friday" series.
The Hollywood-savvy Cube may be years removed from his ascent as a gangsta rap pioneer with N.W.A and as a soloist with albums like AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, but he's still a menace on the mic, releasing his ninth solo album, I Am the West, last year. The third season of "Jersey Shore" wrapped on Thursday night, but Seaside's finest are already planning for the next installment of the show, which will take them to Italy. And that means the cast should probably brush up on their pregos and grazies before they land in the home of delicious spaghetti, fine leather goods and the Pope.
"Can't wait! I honestly can't wait to get there and see the place," Deena told MTV News this week. "For some reason, I really want to go on a gondola ride. Or I would like if we're in Rome, I would like to see the love fountain, so I'm thinking I'll steal a coin ... maybe I'll fall in love.

How did this season of "Jersey Shore" go so fast? It seems like just yesterday we were embarking on a new journey in Seaside Heights, wondering if Sammi and Ronnie might actually get together, how Deena would fit in with her new roomies and whether the show's honorary castmember — the duck phone — would be defiantly quacking away on a daily basis.
And now, just like that, the season is coming to an end on Thursday (March 24) with a final, drama-filled episode. It's like we popped into a tanning bed for a little Uv-base building and woke up looking like Fozzy Bear. Not cool! At least we've got a new, Italian-flavored "Shore" season coming down the line soon.

Ryan Leslie may be best known as a ladies' man (and a child prodigy; he graduated Harvard at 19!), but the singer and producer doesn't always get the girl.
In fact, on his latest track, "Joan of Arc," the Harlem-based crooner waxes poetically about one he had to let get away.
"I wake up to detect messages in my email/ This what I get for messing with pretty females," he sings over stuttered production. "It's a crazy life, yeah it's a mad world/ Where good dudes will betray you over a bad girl/ And bad girls'll take advantage of good dudes."
The song ends with an actual voicemail message Ryan Leslie received from police asking him to come in for questioning.

The Big Momma had stolen the show on their lead single "Player's Anthem," from the collective's album Conspiracy, and was again the main draw on their third single, "Get Money." The Notorious B.I.G. died an untimely death on March 9, 1997, the year after the video's release, but it remains a part of his and the Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s musical legacy. When last week, she spoke to MTV News about the memorable clip, walking us through it frame by frame.
