William Shakespeare’s Pericles, Prince of Tyre ends with a pair of near-resurrections, as the titular protagonist reunites with his daughter and wife, each long-thought dead. It’s only fitting, then, that Fiasco Theater’s production of Pericles, running at the Classic Stage Company until March 24, is an electrifying act of double-resurrection itself.
Pericles is one of Shakespeare’s late romances, blurring lines between genres and toying with fantastical scenes of rebirth, and it’s right in Fiasco’s wheelhouse: the troupe burst on to the scene with a six-actor production of another work in the genre, Cymbeline, in 2011. Gorgeously giddy New York productions of Measure for Measure and The Two Gentlemen of Verona, so-called comedies with disquieting dark turns, followed, in 2014 and 2015, respectively. But some of Fiasco’s more recent early modern undertakings, like a weirdly froth-less Twelfth Night at Classic Stage in 2017 and an overly chaotic reinvention of...

With the release of Captain America: Civil War less than two weeks off, Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to shift into overdrive. It may be a long time before Captain Marvel sees action in 2019, but is it possible that Marvel’s already got the perfect lead actress and director in mind?
During this week’s episode of Meet The Movie Press, The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider had some interesting insight into the forthcoming Captain Marvel flick. Although cryptic, Sneider did offer up a curious possibility.
“There was a rumour about an actress being up for it; an already existing rumour, that’s not new. I’ve definitely heard there’s some truth to that rumour, and that there’s a director with the same first name who has also been eyed. I don’t think that [an announcement] is too far off. If they can make it to Comic Con,...

British producer Gayle Griffiths has died following a battle with cancer. She was 49.
Griffiths, who died on Friday (Oct 23) in London, was perhaps best known for producing Joanna Hogg films Archipelago (2010) and Exhibition (2013), which both starred Tom Hiddleston, as well as urban drama My Brother The Devil (2012).
Sally El Hosani, director of My Brother The Devil, wrote on Facebook: “I can honestly say that the film wouldn’t have been what it was without her input and wisdom. She had real vision and believed in the film when many others in the industry didn’t. She was a fighter with a truly generous heart and empathy for the underdog.

The Two Gentlemen of Verona Written by William Shakespeare Directed by Jessie Austrian and Ben Steinfeld Fiasco Theater Theatre for a New Audience, Polonsky Shakespeare Center 262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn April 24 - June 7, 2015
When Shakespeare is mentioned, one of the first plays to come to mind probably isn’t The Two Gentlemen of Verona, an early, comedic work that ends with one of those sudden character reversals common to early modern drama. If it is indeed Shakespeare’s first play, it is interesting to note that he bookended his theatrical career with another play focused on male friendship tested by conflict over a woman, The Two Noble Kinsmen, written in collaboration with John Fletcher. In Gentlemen, that conflict occurs when Proteus (Noah Brody) travels abroad and abandons his oft-sworn love for Julia (Jessie Austrian) in favor of an infatuation with Sylvia (Emily Young), the beloved of Proteus’s bosom friend, Valentine (Zachary Fine). Unfortunately for Valentine,...

Available now On Demand, and from iTunes, Veronika Decides to Die has released a couple of new clips. The Sarah Michelle Gellar vehicle has a great supporting cast, including David Thewlis and Melissa Leo, and looks to be a mind-bending puzzle that actually works.
After attempting suicide, Veronika attempts suicide, but wakes up in a privately-funded psychiatric hospital. Apparently a place with some unusual practices, it looks as though the director of the institution (Thewlis) is attempting to turn Veronika around, and get her to want to live, despite the ironic twist that it looks like she only has a few weeks to live anyway.
It’s not your usual “trapped in a psych ward” film, and this is a cast that should be able to get something interesting out of just about any idea.
Take a look at the new clips below, and don’t forget the trailer.
Let me know what you think?...

After facing monsters in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and creepy ghosts in The Grudge, this time Sarah Michelle Gellar finds terror in her own mind. The story follows a twentysomething woman who decides to kill herself, despite the fact that she seems to have it all: youth and beauty, boyfriends and a loving family, a fulfilling job. But when her sleeping pill fueled suicide attempt finds her waking up in a mental hospital, she's told she only has days to live. Is this a twisted It's a Wonderful Life remake or something? MTV's "Twi-Fight" is about to begin, and we don't just mean the Cullens finally facing those pesky Volturi types in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."
Sixty-four of our favorite vampires, werewolves, humans and hybrids are throwing down in an intra-fandemonium MTV tournament to decide once and for all which "Twilight" character is the very favorite among Twi-hards.
It's a stone cold battle in the making, and while Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart) and/or Jacob (Taylor Lautner) are the most obvious favorites, there may be some other stiff competitors in this thing yet. Let's break it down.
Frontrunners
There's no question that the "Twi-o" — or "Twifecta," if you will — have a solid lead on the rest. The entire series has revolved around them, and the emotional attachment of the fan community to these three is unquestionable. Between them, Edward's got that immortal swoon factor going for him,...

This week's "From around the web" feature will be pretty concise. First up, Tinsel Korey ("Emily Young" in the Twilight Saga) is featured in this month's installment of Troix Magazine. For those of you who don't know much about Korey, her interview for that publication is a great way to catch up on what she's all about. You can read it and see a slew of gorgeous photos here. Next, attached in the video section is that Audi Super Bowl commercial that's been making the rounds. This hasn't been addressed here yet, and here's why: Despite what's being said about it, it's not Twilight-inspired. It's vampire-inspired. Twilight's vampires so famously do not sizzle in the sunlight, number one, and secondly, they do not have fangs. Still, one could argue that the popularity of the vampire genre can be attributed to Twilight, along with True Blood and The Vampire Diaries, so...

Cymbeline Fiasco Theater at Barrow Street Theatre Through January 15
Theater in its purest form is an exercise in magical simplicity. Much of what passes for theater today is far closer to the craft of spectacle, which is wonderful in its own right but should not be confused with the art of transforming a relative empty space into another breathing world through the efforts of actors, a director, and a script. Cymbeline is one of those most miraculous of manifestations; armed only with six very talented actors, the immortal words of the Shakespeare and a handful of props and set pieces, they have summoned the muses and created one of the most memorable stage productions of 2011.
Paring down a roster of fifteen characters to a cast of six is no small accomplishment, but making it feel like that's the way the play was intended to be performed is a unique wonder.

Today, I'll begin rolling out my premiere coverage (in partnership with Twilight Facebook) from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, starting with two actresses from the La Push persuasion, Tinsel Korey ("Emily Young") and Alex Rice ("Sue Clearwater"). These two portray characters who've suffered losses resulting from their significant others mythological make-up, but Korey and Rice seem to find that their on-screen personas represent hope and strength . . . Korey also talked about her strong relationship with Twilight fans, via Twitter and convention appearances, and Rice talked about working with Billy Burke ("Charlie Swan") in this installment of the Saga. ....

Tinsel Corey, who plays Emily Young in "Twilight: Breaking Dawn," recently talked with Shape about her diet and fitness routine. The actress founded Wolf Girl Boot Camp, a Twitter support club (@WolfGirlBC) that allows her to inspire girls to live healthy lifestyles.
Corey advises readers to make healthy choices convenient. "Cut up a bunch of veggies the night before so it's easier to have healthy snacks the next day," she said. "You won't be tempted to grab those M&Ms." She also ensures her favorite vegetables are in the fridge at all times.

Last night's premiere was definitely not just about the vampires of the Twilight Saga; the wolfpack made quite a splash on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1's black carpet as well. Naturally, the leader of the pack was Gil Birmingham ("Billy Black"), who rocked the show as always, but on his "flanks" were Chaske Spencer ("Sam Uley"), Alex Meraz ("Paul"), Julia Jones ("Leah Clearwater"), Tinsel Korey ("Emily Young"), Bronson Pelletier ("Jared"), Kiowa Gordon ("Embry Call"), and Booboo Stewart ("Seth Clearwater"). Photos of these are all attached in the slideshow! With Breaking Dawn - Part 1, the wolfpack guys all got to be involved in the film in a different way than with the prior films. Within and among the Twilight Saga's wolfpack cast there are but two women: Tinsel Korey ("Emily Young") and Julia Jones ("Leah Clearwater"). Both recently spoke up about their experiences working on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

Australia’s Girl.com recently had the chance to ask Tinsel Korey a few questions about both Breaking Dawn and her other upcoming work including Fishing Naked and Stained. Here Tinsel describes what it was like to resume the character of Emily Young for Breaking Dawn and how the makeup experience differed from that of New Moon and Eclipse. Read more below:
You were cast as Emily Young, the fiancée of Sam Uley over 800 other actresses. How did you react when you were told you had been cast?
Tinsel Korey: I was really excited. Especially since I thought I hadn’t done well on the audition. But I’m also my toughest critic.
The character, Emily is scarred from a previous incident with Sam Uley; can you talk about the time you spent in make up preparing for your role in the Twilight Saga movies.
Tinsel Korey: We had different make up teams for the different movies. For New Moon the make up took three – four hours on the day; because we had two test days. For Eclipse they had to do the make up on set and try to match the first teams job, so it ending up taking eight hours, then five hours, then they got it down to three hours. Then in Breaking Dawn they had a new type of scar material, and it only took two hours. It is quite a process for sure.
Were you sad to say goodbye to filming the Twilight Saga when you finished part 1 of Breaking Dawn?
Tinsel Korey: Of course, it’s a chapter in your life ending. I remember being at dinner with everyone, and was like “Are we all still going to be friends after this ends?”
How has your life changed since being cast in the Twilight Saga?
Tinsel Korey: I guess the amount of attention I get has changed. But how I perceive my reality hasn’t, I always remember to stay humble. As fast as something is given to you, it can be taken away just as fast!
In the movie you are a motherly figure to Sam Uley’s werewolf pack, how are you similar to the character of Emily Young?
Tinsel Korey: I take care of the boys the same way. Always acting like the big sister, and making sure they’re okay.

There are a few items of Twilight-related news to share today, so to keep it short and simple, here's a wrap-up of the latest.
For starters, Kellan Lutz ("Emmett Cullen") launched his clothing line, Abbot + Main, with Nordstrom this past Thursday. According to the Los Angeles Times, Lutz talked about his input for the line while at the launch event.
“I am a part of every decision . . . Nothing gets decided on unless it comes through me. I put in a lot of input now like I did in the beginning. We raided my closet to find out what type of shirts I usually wear and what kind of fabrics I like. Because I didn’t just want to be the face of the campaign, but have it be my brand.”

It’s that special time of year when the ‘average joe’ (or jane) can rub elbows with the hottest celebrities in town, and Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Julia Jones, Elizabeth Reaser, and BooBoo Stewart shared a few Twilight Breaking Dawn moments with the fans at San Diego Comic-Con.
The Twihards were excited, and the questions were all over the place, ranging from what was it like to film the end of the saga to wondering if any new friends were made when the new vampire clans showed up in Breaking Dawn Part 2. I think my favorite questions were inspired by Boo Stewart, who’s at Comic-Con this year in an official capacity, but showed up at Sdcc 2010 just as a fan.

Are you ready to experience some great Twilight Breaking Dawn movie make-up? Actress Tinsel Korey may not be a household name just yet, but the Canadian-born actress and musician is Emily Young to millions of Twihards. Emily, Sam Uley’s fiancée, has terrible scars on her face from a moment her beloved phased while standing much too close to her. Bella got an eye-full of Emily’s scars when she visits La Push in Twilight Saga: New Moon. Perhaps even worse is the fact Sam was dating Leah Clearwater, when Sam imprinted on Emily. The wolven love triangle is unforgettable because Leah becomes the only female pack member and gets to share wolf telepathy when in four-footed, furry mode. Yikes! Speaking of the pack, check out Seth Clearwater (Leah’s little brother) actor, Boo Boo Stewart as he shares secrets from filming Breaking Dawn.

A first-glimpse at Tinsel Korey as "Emily Young" in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 has been unveiled by TinselKoreyOnline.
As you can see from the image, the scarring for Korey's character has been amped up a bit from the previous films. For The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, however, the scars were more surface-like and also fewer.

For you Twihards, actress Tinsel Korey is Emily Young, the werewolf leader's scarred fiancé or "wolf girl" as Bella calls her in The Twilight Saga. But, what you probably don't know is that she's a super talented singer/songwriter too. That's right. She acts. She sings. She's gorgeous. And she can probably make you laugh in less than two seconds. Someone that chill must be inherently pretentious and self-involved. Nope. Tinsel's about as down to earth and charming as they come. Kristen Stewarts and Taylor Launter of 'Twilight' fame have been evacuated from Vancouver Island after tsunami warnings were issued following the earthquake in Japan. The Twilight stars were shooting 'Breaking Dawn', the next instalment of the vampire franchise on the Island beach, but movie bosses have halted the production. What does it take to stop "Twilight" in its tracks?
A tsunami warning — that's what.
After an 8.9-magnitude earthquake struck in Japan, Hawaii and the North American West Coast have been placed on tsunami advisories, and the Vancouver Island beach area in British Columbia, where "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" is currently filming, has been evacuated.
This means Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and the rest of the "Twilight" gang have been forced to leave the open coasts of Tofino and head to the movie production's base camp — and that filming has been temporarily delayed, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
But don't fret; the actors are all safe and sound, despite some dramatic Tweets that popped up earlier today.

The Vancouver Island, British Columbia, location where "Twilight's" next installment, "Breaking Dawn," is being filmed was evacuated Friday (March 11). The decision was made in the wake of advisories following Japan's own massive tsunami and 8.9 magnitude earthquake in which hundreds of people lost their lives.
According to People, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the cast weren't in any danger, but the cast was moved out of the area out of an abundance of caution.
