Marcus Koch seems to be the go to guy for special effects these days in the indie horror world. Having racked up a number of credits in the past few years including Bloody Bloody Bible Camp starring Reggie Bannister (Phantasm), Tim Sullivan (host of the TV show Scream Queens and director of 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams), and adult film superstar Ron Jeremy. He has also worked on Herschell Gordon Lewis's The Uh-Oh Show, Andrew Allan's Brainjacked, Jay Woelfel's Live Evil and many other films. Marcus Koch has also stepped back into the director's chair with Fell starring Jeff Dylan Graham. Here's what Marcus Koch had to say about his career.
So who is Marcus Koch and what is he all about?
Not sure yet, but, I'm a Pieces. Sometimes I don hideous mohawks, listen to bad 80's music and collect cheesy tuxedo t-Shirts. I love horror films and I love weird art.

Joel D. Wynkoop is one of the hardest working actors in the indie horror world, having appeared in over 50 films. He is the John Carradine of horror films. Towards the beginning of the decade, he experienced a resurgence in film work and racked up one credit after another. The 80's and 90's saw him working infrequently, though one of his more well known films is Truth or Dare: Screaming For Sanity. I had the chance to ask him a few questions about his career. Here is what he had to say.

Director Andrew Allan's Brainjacked tells the tale of Tristan Davis [Chris Jackson], a teenage runaway lured by the enchanting and beautiful Laney [Somali Rose] into a secret underworld ruled by a psychotic neurosurgeon [Rod Grant]. The doctor's deadly prescription: Trepanation, the very real and gruesome practice of drilling bloody hole's in one's head for mental relief and enhancement. Suffering from head-grinding migraines, Tristan submits to the doctor's drill. But surgery unlocks more than just Tristan's mental powers. It opens a dark realm of terror... Packed with sexy sirens, mutated abominations, and an army of murderous, mind-controlled teenage slaves. I had the chance to ask Andrew Allan a few questions about Brainjacked. Here's what he had to say....

Brainjacked DVD ArtDirector: Andrew Allan.
Writers: Andrew Allan and Andy Lalino.
Brainjacked is a film from Breaking Glass Pictures, which specializes in homoerotic dramas and B-movie science fiction thrillers. The film being reviewed here, thankfully, has no homosexual tones and Brainjacked releases on DVD August 31st. Director Andrew Allan brings back the 10,000 year old medical practice of trepanning, which is surgery performed directly on the brain to relieve pressure or ancient spirits. In the film's case, trepanning is used by a maniacal doctor to control people in order to do his bidding. Silly, adolescent, and full of soft core porn images, Brainjacked is fighting hard for this year's top ten worst films on 28Dla.
As mentioned above a crazed doctor goes about injecting microchips in to patient's pre-frontal lobes in order to have them carry out nefarious deeds. Did this reviewer mention the doctor has a drill surgically implanted on his arm?...

Today we welcome a new blogger to the World of Fangoria. FX Artist Marcus Koch has become a fixture at our Fango 'Cons since racking up credits on the indie circuit for the past several years. The Director of 100 Tears recently found himself doing FX on the film Sinners & Saints, and on Herschell Gordon Lewis' anticipated Grim Fairy Tale - the latter of which is the subject of his first blog here on Fangoria.com
And now, we turn it over to Marcus...
Where do I begin? To start things off, let me first say it has been a great honor to work for Herschell Gordon Lewis. I grew up watching his movies as a kid (thanks mom and dad)! What gorehound hasn't? And I knew from a very early age that's what I wanted to do.
So fast forward many years from my childhood dream, and let's stop...

A fight has just broken out on the set of a new movie, and B-flick veteran Joel D. Wynkoop is being dragged, kicking and screaming, through the warehouse studio by producer Andrew Allan. Tensions tend to run high on any film shoot, and 10 hours into a 17-hour day, it’s not uncommon for a fuse or two to blow.
But, at just about the time Allan drags Wynkoop through the soundstage door, the film’s director triggers a cue and the collected cast and crew placate an adrenalin-fueled Allen with two very calming words: April Fool!
At the age of 82, the culturally anointed Godfather of Gore, Herschell Gordon Lewis, is back behind the lens on his 37th feature film, Grim Fairy Tale (first exclusive photos at right and below). The movie, produced by Andy Lalino and Allan of the Film Ranch company, marks his first true return to form; his...

It's always nice to start off the week with some very good news, and that's just what we have for you this morning. Today is the day that the legendary Godfather of Gore, Herschell Gordon Lewis, steps behind the camera once again on his latest film, Grim Fairy Tale.
We got the official word from producers Andrew Allan and Andy Lalino of Film Ranch this morning!
"On Monday, March 23rd. we kick off production on Herschell Gordon Lewis' extra-gory new feature film, Grim Fairy Tale." says Allan. "Yes, this is actually happening and Film Ranch is producing. Herschell is directing his own original script, and the film will star Brooke McCarter (Lost Boys), Krista Grotte (Brainjacked, Death On Demand), and Joel Wynkoop (Body In A Dumpster), plus some choice cameos from genre faves. It's going to be perfectly deranged. Just like you'd expect from the Godfather of Gore."

Film Ranch toppers Andrew Allan and Andy Lalino passed on an exclusive pic showing a few of the stars of their upcoming shocker Brainjacked enjoying their favorite magazine. Check it out below the cut.
The sci-fi/horror hybrid stars Chris Jackson as Tristan, a young runaway who winds up at The Garden, a rehab facility run by Dr. Karas (100 Tears’ Rod Grant). The good doctor at first cures the debilitating migraines Tristan suffers, but Tristan soon discovers that Karas wants to get into his head another way: He’s been performing mind-control experiments on the other residents, turning them into his zombielike slaves. Tears director Marcus Koch created the makeup FX, and the cast also includes Somali Rose, Chris Sarlls, Krista Grotte and B-flick veteran Joel D. Wynkoop, with a cameo by veteran director William Grefé of Stanley and Mako: The Jaws Of Death fame. Brainjacked is currently in postproduction,...
