The new outfit, Rose Rock Entertainment, is a Jv with producer and former Spoke Studios executive Joe Weinstock, whose executive producer credits include reality hit “Duck Dynasty” for A&e and “Assembly Required” with “Home Improvement” star Tim Allen for History Channel.
Launching with offices on the West Coast and Oklahoma, Rose Rock will focus on delivering “cinematic Americana factual content” with an entertainment edge. Joe Weinstock, Co-President of Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse Entertainment label Spoke Studios, has exited to launch a Jv with The Masked Singer UK and Netflix’s Hard Cell super-indie Argonon.
Rose Rock Entertainment will focus on delivering “cinematic American factual content” that is entertaining and edgy, building on Weinstock’s male-skewing factual expertise.
The indie will operate out of offices in Hollywood and Oklahoma and is Argonon’s first U.S. Jv, coming a few months after CEO James Burstall detailed a “strategic growth plan through international expansion and creative acquisition,” while shifting the U.S. development team from New York to LA. The Argonon West Coast office opened in 2020 and is overseen by Leopard USA Chief Creative Officer Lindsay Schwartz.
Weinstock joined Montgomery’s Wheelhouse-backed Spoke Studios four years ago and has since been responsible for the likes of Disney+’s Becoming, Discovery’s River of No Return...

The motivational speaker shared her reaction to Will Smith infamously slapping her son live on television during the 2022 Oscars while visiting South Carolina station Wis-tv's Soda City Live on April 22. "When Will slapped Chris, he slapped all of us, but he really slapped me," she said. "Because when you hurt my child, you hurt me." The 77-year-old noted that she had "never met" Will prior to the incident and initially believed that it was a staged event "until he started with the obscenities." Nearly 20 years ago, Chris Rock's popularity skyrocketed. Today, he's still at the top of his game.
After stints on "Saturday Night Live" and "In Living Color" and no film offers in sight, Rock thought he was already washed up. The young comedian went back to the drawing board, toured the country as a stand-up, and the result was "Bring the Pain." The 1996 stand-up special transformed Rock from "that guy" to "the guy" nearly overnight -- but he still never shined on the big screen. By nearly all accounts, though, that's all changed this winter. "Top Five" finds the comedian at the top of his game (no pun intended), a critically acclaimed feature written by, directed by, and starring Rock.
From his famous mentor to his rough school days, here are 21 things you probably don't know about Chris Rock.
1. Chris Rock was born February 7, 1965 in Andrews, South Carolina to Rosalie Tingman and Julius Rock.
