Lamb of God’s inaugural Headbangers Boat cruise festival looks to have been a blast so far.
The cruise left port aboard the Norwegian Pearl on Halloween (October 31st) from Miami. We’ve already reported on Randy Blythe (dressed as Elvis) officiating a Halloween wedding aboard the ship, and elsewhere, footage from the boat has been nothing but good vibes.
For instance, a circle pit broke out in the hot tub during Hatebreed’s set. As captured by Heavy Consequence photographer Kevin Wilson, the hot tubbers set down their margaritas and shimmied to a particularly hooky breakdown.
To be honest, this is probably the chillest mosh in Hatebreed history — Jamey Jasta and company’s brand of beatdown hardcore is specifically geared to incite violent mosh pits. Nonetheless, the boat’s crew still put a stop to the hot tub circle pit after a song or two. Safety first!

Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta has released the new single “Assimilation Agenda” under his Jasta moniker. The song features Exodus singer Steve “Zetro” Souza.
The track is a total banger, featuring sharp, heavy guitars and cutting vocals from Jasta and Souza. “Assimilation Agenda” marks Jasta’s first bit of new music since his 2019 project The Lost Chapters, Volume 2.
Nick Bellmore recorded, mixed and mastered the new song at Dexters Lab Recording in Milford, Connecticut. “Assimilation Agenda” also marks the first track released from Jasta’s as-yet-untitled new album, which will drop later this year.
“The whole album is a love letter to thrash but this song in particular is a great example of what’s to come and one of my favorites,” Jasta said in a statement. “A duet with Zetro that will get the circle pits going Hard!!!”

Canadian melodic death metal act The Agonist are calling it quits after nearly two decades as a band.
The band made the announcement early Wednesday (May 10th) via a statement on social media, citing personal, financial, and industry-related reasons for the disbandment. Dedicated fans will be happy to know that certain members still plan on creating music together, though it won’t be under The Agonist name.
The statement reads, in part:
“Dear friends, it’s time to make a very difficult but necessary announcement. We have decided that The Agonist as a band, has come to an end. Much deliberation and care has been put into making this decision, and unfortunately, given the circumstances, this is the conclusion that makes the most sense for the band and us as individuals.

When Rian Johnson comes to television, he does so with a “big swing,” as music supervisor Thomas Golubić puts it. The multiple Emmy and Grammy nominee is on board for Johnson’s “Poker Face” starring Natasha Lyonne, who also executive produces the hour-long dark comedy.
A former Guild of Music Supervisors president, and three-time Gms Award winner, most notably for “Breaking Bad,” Golubic brings his more than 20 years of music supervision experience to “Poker Face.”
The first season put Golubić’s cross-section of skills to the test with hurdles like difficult clearances to on-camera musical performances and creation of original songs. Golubić met these challenges head-on with support from his team at SuperMusicVision, which includes Olivia Schlichting and clearance services by Jill Meyers Music.

Lamb of God’s upcoming deluxe edition of their self-titled album will feature a typically punishing bonus track, “Ghost Shaped People.” Frontman Randy Blythe asks, “What will you believe? Who will you betray? What’s the cost of victory?” in the song’s chorus, which is sandwiched between the band’s signature cataclysm of chugging guitars and anvil-smashing drums.
Although it’s not entirely clear who has sparked Blythe’s ire, it’s clear that they’re the sort of weak-spined infidel who probably wouldn’t appreciate Lamb of God anyway,...

With yet another Friday the 13th upon us, it’s high time to dig into a now fairly-outmoded Hollywood practice, the synergistic soundtrack album, as it pertains to Camp Blood’s least favorite son. Today, we celebrate the Friday The 13th franchise by making a playlist of its top soundtrack slices.
As a series, Friday The 13th has run the musical gamut, kicking off at the tail end of disco (as the opening theme music of Friday The 13th Part III can attest), peaking during the hair metal ’80s, and then quite thoroughly exploring a renaissance in metal at the start of the 21st century.
Is this list solely a product of the personal taste of this horror and metal fan? Of course. As such, you’ll notice that Hot Ice does not make the cut. Several of the top entries in this list did not even occupy any pre-end credits screen time,...

If you’re into metal or hardcore, chances are you have a Hatebreed record in your collection. Known for their crushing live shows and tireless efforts, the band has been a fixture in heavy music for the past fifteen years. With a growing following based on a mutual loyalty and respect between the band and their audience, the Grammy-nominated band closes out 2009 with a hit album on a new label, energized by their return to independence.
At the center of all things Hatebreed is Jamey Jasta - the multi-tasking frontman not only of Hatebreed, but also of Kingdom Of Sorrow and Icepick. Balancing music with running his own label Stillborn Records, and a clothing line called Hatewear without ever seeming spread too thin, Jasta has his sights set on conquering even more frontiers in the near future.
