Film critic and journalist Marshall Fine writes about movies at the
website Hollywood & Fine. He serves as freelance film/TV critic for Star magazine.
He is the author of well-regarded biographies of directors Sam
Peckinpah and John Cassavetes and director of a feature-length
documentary about writer Rex Reed.
He is a member and three-time chairman of the New York Film Critics
Circle. His work has appeared in the New York Daily News, USA Today,
the Los Angeles Times, New York Observer, Premiere, Cosmopolitan, Cigar
Aficionado and Entertainment Weekly. He conducted the Playboy Interview
with both Howard Stern and Tim Robbins.
He has produced successful film series at the Jacob Burns Film Center
in Pleasantville, NY, and the Emelin Theater in Mamaroneck, NY. He
regularly guest-hosts at other film series in the New York area and has
programmed films at the Museum of the Moving Image and the Tarrytown
Music Hall.
