The only mystery left unsolved for us after the finale of the darkly comic Netflix series Bodkin was how the three lead actors felt about shooting some of their characters’ biggest moments. So, we asked! Check out the video (above) to hear from Siobhán Cullen, Will Forte, and Robyn Cara as they reflect on the story of cynical investigative reporter Dove (Cullen) grudgingly working with an earnest American true-crime podcaster, Gilbert (Forte), and his ambitious researcher Emmy (Cara) to investigate the mysterious disappearances of three people in the small Irish town of Bodkin. One of the tidbits we uncovered involves Dove’s number one suspect, the former smuggler Seamus (David Wilmot). He memorably gags Gilbert with the reporter’s recorder: “I remember all that went into thinking about the recorder being shoved into my mouth,” Forte says. “I was so scared that it was going to knock my teeth out!

When Bodkin’s Gilbert (Will Forte), Dove (Siobhán Cullen), and Emmy (Robyn Cara) showed up in small-town Ireland to record a podcast, they knew they were chasing a great story — but they didn’t know just how many threads they’d have to follow to one fateful fall night two decades ago.
So what, exactly, did happen in this quiet seaside town? And how in the world are yoga-teaching nuns, Interpol, smugglers, a sunken car, and a whole lot of eels involved?
“You need seven episodes to be able to explain,” Cullen tells Tudum. “I think that’s what’s so great about the show. As soon as you think you have a handle on it, there’s another twist, there’s another turn, there’s a red herring, and the rug is pulled from underneath you. The Twilight film franchise left behind a legacy that still lives on today, and it introduced us to a talented (and very wealthy) cast of stars.
Based on author Stephenie Meyer‘s novels, the franchise helped to lay the groundwork for a new generation of teen fantasy blockbusters. It also set up its stars for a successful run in Hollywood.
Of course, some of the most recognizable stars from the franchise are the three main leads – Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. However, the rest of the Cullen family and several other stars from the franchise have also enjoyed successful careers in Hollywood.
The franchise is on our minds again thanks to a recent cast reunion and a prominent star welcoming their first child. We decided to check out what sort of fortunes the stars have amassed, and you might be surprised by where some of the actors fall on the list.

Best known for playing Alice Cullen in the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight novels, Ashley Greene’s casting was met with controversy among fans as she is 7 inches (18 cm) taller than her character, as described in the novel.

Response to Fan Expectations
In an interview with MTV in March 2008, Ashley addressed the criticism. “Uh, that’s the biggest complaint about me actually; I’m 5-foot-5. I’m much, much taller than Alice is described, but who is 4-foot-10 anyways?”
“Well, when I read the book, I could see that, and she’s the actress that Stephenie put on her site and said, ‘This is what I think she looks like in my head,’ so that’s natural that everyone else would have...

All six episodes of the darkly comedic crime drama Obituary will be available to watch on the Hulu streaming service as of Tuesday, November 21st – and with that date just a week away, we have the trailer for the show for you to check out in the embed above.
Written by Ray Lawlor (Le Ceangal) and directed by John Hayes (Dublin Murders) and Oonagh Kearney (Vardy vs. Rooney), Obituary has the following synopsis: 24-year-old Elvira Clancy is feeling a little unfulfilled, although she adores her new job writing obituaries, but when her newspaper falls on hard times and her boss cuts her salary, she finds herself being paid per obituary overnight. When she “accidentally” kills a nasty piece of work in the town, she discovers she might have a previously untapped bloodlust!
She relishes using ever more crafty methods to kill off the town’s unpleasant residents while making them look like accidents.

If there's one voice that means "heroism" to me, it's Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime in the "Transformers" franchise. Cullen's performance has been compared to John Wayne; especially in his early days voicing the character, there's a no-nonsense drawl to Optimus' voice. However, Cullen told MTV News in 2007 that he wasn't deliberately drawing on Wayne; it just came out that way:
"John Wayne has a deep-end voice and for a truck to have a high voice would be ridiculous. So I had to give him that basic imprint of the low-end voice. John Wayne was never intended to be the sound."
Cullen's real influence was something more personal; his older brother, H.L. "Larry" Cullen. The older Cullen brother was a decorated Marine Corps captain and veteran of the Vietnam War (with a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts to his name).

A four-day mediation between divorcing couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner began on Wednesday.
The two look to hash out a custody and parenting plan for their daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 14 months, and resolve ongoing disputes during their divorce. Turner’s lawyer, Stephen Cullen, claimed in court that Jonas was asking for joint custody.
“The parties are both seeing their children, which is what we all want.” Cullen later confirmed.
The mediation between the two comes after Turner sued Jonas for wrongful retention of their children. Jonas was allegedly withholding their passports to prevent them from returning to England. Turner also claims that Jonas went back on their plans to make the U.K. their “forever home.”

To talk about Peter Cullen's voice acting career is to take a trip through the last five decades of mainstream U.S. animation. The man has lent his voice to so many noteworthy cartoon series that it boggles the mind, including "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo," "The Smurfs," "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends," "Voltron: Defender of the Universe," "Alvin and the Chipmunks," "Muppet Babies," "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers," and "Invincible." But one cannot even begin to do justice to his body of work without touching on the iconic character that he's voiced across multiple animated shows and feature films for nearly 40 years now. Truly, at this point, Cullen is all but synonymous with his onscreen counterpart: Eeyore.
After debuting as the Autobots' intrepid leader in "The Transformers" in 1984, Cullen took over voicing the most relatable resident of the Hundred Acre Wood from the late Ralph Wright (who voiced...

This author is old enough to remember the death of Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen), the leader of the heroic Autobots in Nelson Shin's 1986 animated sci-fi epic "The Transformers: The Movie." Coming in the middle of a successful run on television, "The Movie" aimed to expand the series into a full-blown space opera, complete with interplanetary settings, all-new characters, and a massive mechanical cosmic deity played by Orson Welles (his final work before his death in October of 1985). Many fans of the TV series -- and they were legion -- flocked to theaters to see their favorite transforming robot characters wail on each other in a cinematic context.
It should be recalled that "The Transformers" was one of many 1980s TV shows that functioned explicitly as an advertising exercise. The Transformers were gimmicky toys -- puzzles that could be manipulated from robot shapes into cars and back --...

You might not know the name Peter Cullen, but I guarantee you know his voice. He's Eeyore in the "Winnie the Pooh" franchise, Monterey Jack in "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers," the first voice of Karr in "Knight Rider," the vocalizations of the titular "Predator," and since he voiced Mario in the Donkey Kong segments of "Saturday Supercade," he's actually the first person to ever give Mario a voice in the English-speaking world. All of these roles border on iconic, but Cullen became a living legend by providing the voice of Optimus Prime in the "Transformers" franchise.
In 2022, for the film's 15-year anniversary, Paramount held an event celebrating all things "Transformers," and Peter Cullen spoke (via Comic Book Resource) about his journey from voicing Optimus Prime in the animated series to bringing the character to life in live action. The 2023 writers strike has focused attention on recent developments like artificial intelligence and the transition to streaming.
But for film writers, the key issue in the strike has been a constant battle for more than a generation: How do you get paid for a script once it’s finished?
Screenwriters have long been asked to do free revisions before turning in a “first draft” to the studio, which triggers payment. Typically they agree, even though the Writers Guild of America contract sets out minimum rates for revisions and polishes.
“I have boxes of scripts in my garage that are just draft after draft after draft,” said Emily Fox, a WGA strike captain who was walking the picket lines last week. “And it was all ‘first draft.’ But it was like First Draft A, First Draft B. But if they’re like, ‘You’re not ready to hand it in,’ then...

The "Transformers" movies are filled with questionable choices, but bringing Peter Cullen back to voice Optimus Prime is not one of them. Reprising the role for the first time since the 1980s, Cullen became the voice of Prime for Millennials and Zoomers, just as he had been for the Gen Xers who watched the original cartoon as children.
In the lead-up to the first movie's release, Paramount Pictures held the online contest "Make Prime Speak" (hosted on www.transformersmovie.com). From October 2-23, 2006, entrants could submit a piece of dialogue (120 characters or less) that they wanted to hear Optimus Prime say in the then-upcoming movie. Per contest rules, Peter Cullen would recite the winning line in his John Wayne-esque baritone.
The line ultimately chosen was "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." This was Prime's motto, according to his original toy bio, but Cullen never said it before.

Winship, who previously led the union from 2007-2017, said Tuesday in a letter to union members that his name does not appear on the list of candidates for this year’s upcoming elections because he intends to stick with the pledge he made when he returned in 2021 and only serve two years.
“This is not a choice that was made lightly, but I have been a member of this union for more than four decades and active in our work for nearly all of them,” Winship wrote. “Now the time has come for me to pass responsibility to the new generation of Guild members and the elected council.”
The news came as the candidates for the next vote were announced, with only Lisa Takeuchi Cullen,...

Now that season 2 of his Prime Video superhero series has a Nov. 3 release date, Invincible creator Robert Kirkman admits that he’s going to miss all the poking and prodding.
“I’m ready for people to stop yelling at me about (the wait for season 2). But I’m also so appreciative of people ‘yelling’ at me for the last seven years. It’s great to see that people are invested,” he tells Den of Geek during his appearance at our San Diego Comic-Con studio.
Kirkman is mostly joking – it hasn’t actually been seven years since Invincible season 1’s finale premiered in April 2021. But given the explosive conclusion to the first season of the series based on Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley’s beloved 144-issue comic of the same name, fans could be forgiven for feeling like it’s been nearly a decade all the same.

When writing a 97th birthday salute to the great Mel Brooks on Wednesday, I neglected to include my favorite story surrounding Brooks. It involved his most embarrassing moment, which happened in 1966. He recalled the cringeworthy moment in a special with talk show host Dick Cavett in 2011, and it involved the affable game show host Bill Cullen.
“About a hundred years ago, I was on a show called, ‘Eye Guess’,” Brooks recalled, “with a lady named Julia Meade and the host, Bill Cullen. I was doing my usual thing, ad-libbing, having a good time. So, the show is over, and I turned and noticed that Cullen is starting to walk out from behind his podium.”

The eponymous team of fledgling vigilantes in The CW’s Gotham Knights has gone through a turbulent ride so far since the very first episode. After the death of Gotham’s protector, Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, his adopted son, Turner Hayes, was indicted for the crime by the secretive crime society comprising the city’s elites, named the Court of Owls. Along with Turner, genius in their respective fields yet small-time crooks Cullen, Harper Row, and Duela were also taken into custody on suspicion of Bruce Wayne’s murder, and the group escaped imprisonment thanks to Carrie Kelley, aka Robin’s interference. Later, Turner’s best friend Stephanie Brown joined the team as well, and to clear their names and bring Bruce’s killers to justice, Turner and co. resorted to vigilantism. Da Harvey Dent, best friend of Bruce Wayne, initially pursued the group but changed his stance after becoming...
