Young Sheldon is officially on TikTok, just weeks before it’s series finale airs!
The first video on the show’s account features star Iain Armitage and executive producer/narrator Jim Parsons, who of course plays the adult version of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.
Jim is set to make an appearance in the CBS comedy’s upcoming series finale, alongside his co-star Mayim Bialik, and the two Sheldons made a TikTok video leading up to the last episode.
Keep reading to find out more…
In the video, Iain talks about there being an aging filter on the app and taps the screen before it switches to Jim.
“So apparently there’s a new filter that shows what you look when you grow up, and I don’t know how accurate this is going to be. Let me try,” Iain says before tapping the screen.

It looks like CBS canceling Young Sheldon didn’t just frustrate the show’s fans. It seems that it also took many of the cast members by surprise. Annie Potts, who plays Meemaw on Young Sheldon, said the cancelation “ambushed” the entire and she calls it a “stupid business move.”
Here is what Annie Potts said about the show’s cancelation and if this is the least we will see of Meemaw.
Annie Potts Blasts Young Sheldon Cancelation
Annie Potts has played Sheldon Cooper’s Meemaw in Young Sheldon, and the actress has become one of the show’s most popular characters. However, when CBS announced that the current season was the last for the series, Potts said she and other cast members were “ambushed” by the news and weren’t ready to end their roles on the series.

Fans are disappointed that CBS canceled Young Sheldon despite its continued popularity and high ratings. Even some cast members have spoken out about the show ending, even though the Big Bang Theory universe will continue with a different spin-off. However, there is some exciting news about the finale.
Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will return as the adult Sheldon Cooper and his wife Amy Farrah Fowler in the series finale. Here is what you need to know.
Jim Parsons & Mayim Bialik Coming To Young Sheldon Finale
It might seem hard to believe, but neither Jim Parsons nor Mayim Bialik have ever appeared in person on Young Sheldon. Parsons has done the narration throughout the series, so he has been a part of it. However, he never appeared on camera as Sheldon in the series. Likewise, Bialik had some voice-over work on the show, but also never appeared as Amy on camera.

Michael Douglas is in terrific form as Benjamin Franklin in Apple TV’s new historical limited series “Franklin” but he isn’t the only actor to emerge with awards whispers whizzing through the air. Veteran actor Eddie Marsan features in a key supporting role as John Adams and delivers one of the finest performances of his career while also shining a new light onto a man that many actors have depicted before.
The limited series follows Franklin’s eight years in France as he tried to persuade King Louis XVI (Tom Pezier) to join the colonies’ cause and aid them in the American Revolutionary War. The scenes between Douglas and Marsan are nothing short of spectacular and Marsan nails his performance as Adams, as noted by critics.
Clint Worthington (Roger Ebert) noted: “Marsan’s energy as Adams is decidedly different from Paul Giamatti’s in Ellis’ original 2008 miniseries—“Franklin” feels...

Daniel Radcliffe’s post-“Harry Potter” career has long been dominated by his theater work, both in New York and London. On April 30, he finally scored his first Tony nomination, for his role in the musical “Merrily We Roll Along.”
Radcliffe’s buzzy stage work began in 2007 with a run in “Equus” on both sides of the pond. He powered a delightful, blockbuster revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” in 2011 (Grammy nomination), and since then, he has chosen an eclectic mix of projects, work where his name alone can often get challenging — or even just serious — work funded. Think the occasionally dense “The Cripple of Inishmaan,” the provocative “Privacy,” or the genre-bending experiment “The Lifespan of a Fact.” He’s long been an asset to the NY stage scene, and this morning’s recognition long-deserved.

In anticipation of the upcoming Young Sheldon series finale, child star Iain Armitage teamed up with his older Big Bang Theory counterpart, Jim Parsons, for a promotional TikTok video. The video was shared on the official Young Sheldon TikTok page and shows Armitage testing out a “new filter” that he says “apparently shows you what it looks like when you grow up.” “I don’t know how accurate it is going to be, but let me try it out,” Armitage says while tapping on the screen. When the young actor moves his finger away from the screen, Parsons is standing in his place. “Hmm, I’m not sure about this,” Parsons says as he assesses the results of the filter. “Oh! A new musical, a musical revival and a new play with music will dominate the 2024 Tony Awards nominations, according to our official odds in 17 of the 26 categories. The latest revival of the classic John Kander and Fred Ebb musical “Cabaret,” fresh off a smash run on the West End, and the new musical “Hell’s Kitchen” that is loosely based on the life of Alicia Keys and her music will both net at least seven nominations. New works “Days of Wine and Roses,” “Here Lies Love” and “Suffs” and the starry revival of Stephen Sondheim‘s notorious flop “Merrily We Roll Along” will also earn substantial nominations tallies.

Young Sheldon star Annie Potts wasn’t ready for the show to end. She said she was completely unprepared when CBS announced last fall that The Big Bang Theory prequel series would conclude at the end of its seventh season.
Annie Potts says there will be ‘a grievous hole’ in her life after ‘Young Sheldon’ ends
Potts and her co-star Iain Armitage, who plays young Sheldon Cooper recently chatted with Variety about the end of Young Sheldon and the show’s upcoming series finale on May 16.
Saying goodbye to the cast and the crew after so many years of working together will be hard, said Potts, who plays Sheldon’s beloved grandma Meemaw.
“It’s a little village that we have, and we’ve all taken care of each other and raised each other up,” she shared. “There will be a grievous hole in my life. There’s no question about it.

For instance, did you know that Sandra Bullock was supposed to appear on the show? Her role went to another very popular actor after her team sent a “polite decline” to the offer for a simple reason.

We did some digging and rustled up 12 facts about the show, including details about guest stars who turned down roles (that list includes a massive pop star), actors who were almost overlooked, onset romances, future plans for reboots and more.
One actor even admitted to using their dressing room for hook ups. Take a look and let us know what,...

Mother Play is the final show of the 2023-2024 Broadway season and its officially open!
The new play, starring Jessica Lange, celebrated its opening night performance on Thursday (April 25) at the Hayes Theater in New York City.
The legendary actress was joined on the red carpet by co-stars Jim Parsons and Celia Keenan-Bolger.
Mother Play opened right before the close of the Tony Awards eligibility period and it seems like Jessica is a lock for a nomination based on the reviews.
“Keenan-Bolger and Parsons are very good indeed in Mother Play, but there’s no question to whom it belongs. Lange is magnificent, especially in this production’s most moving scene,” Time Out New York wrote.
Mother Play, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel, is billed as “a bitingly funny and unflinchingly honest new play about the hold our family has over us and the surprises we find when we unpack the past.

Forbidden Broadway on Broadway, the updated iteration of the long-running Off Broadway musical-comedy review, is postponing its scheduled summer Broadway debut at the Hayes Theatre due to what producers say is an “enormously crowded” landscape.
“We made the difficult decision today to postpone the upcoming Broadway production of Forbidden Broadway on Broadway: Merrily We Stole A Song,” said producers Ryan Bogner, Victoria Lang and Tracey McFarland in a statement. “The Broadway landscape is enormously crowded at this moment, and while we adore Forbidden Broadway, we are disappointed that the show will not open at the Hayes on Broadway this summer. Young Sheldon had a good run. The CBS sitcom and The Big Bang Theory prequel starring Iain Armitage, Annie Potts, and co. is now wrapping with its seventh and final season. Undoubtedly, it is much heavier on the cast to say goodbye to the show that was started about seven years ago, focusing on the younger version of Sheldon Cooper.

For Potts, it is far too hard to wrap up the show as the actor revealed that she was devastated by the news of the show ending with the seventh season. Jessica Lange spoke critically of present-day Hollywood during a recent interview with Vulture, saying “there should be a law against it” when the topic came up about Warner Bros. Discovery axing already-shot movies like “Batgirl” and “Coyote vs. Acme” for tax write-off purposes. This topic became a launching pad for some of Lange’s wider criticisms of today’s entertainment industry.
“We’re living in a corporate world and it certainly has rolled over into the film industry,” Lange said. “So much of the industry now is not about the creative process. Obviously, this is not across the board, but there are many instances where I feel like the artistic impulse is overwhelmed by the corporate profit motive. Welcome to Tony Talk, a weekly column in which Gold Derby contributing theater editors Sam Eckmann and David Buchanan discuss the Tony Awards race. With less than a week to go before nominations for the 77th Tonys are announced, we discuss the recently-opened and raved-about new play “Stereophonic” and consider how many of its performers might earn nominations in those challenging Featured Actor and Actress races.
David Buchanan: Hey Sam! We are officially less than a week away from the Tony nominations, and now that we have a tiny bit more clarity on the Best Musical race as shows like “Suffs” and “Hell’s Kitchen” have opened, I’m starting to really fret those pesky featured performer categories. Annie Potts is no stranger to series finales, having experienced several through the years. But there’s something different about the end of “Young Sheldon,” the “Big Bang Theory” prequel that concludes on May 16. “I still don’t understand why they canceled it,” she says. “It just seemed like such a stupid business move.”
Potts, who plays saucy Connie “MeeMaw” Tucker on “Young Sheldon,” says she remains puzzled by CBS’s decision to end the series — even though it’s still a strong ratings performer for the network.
Nonetheless, “Young Sheldon” did wrap production on its seventh and final season last week. A few days later, Variety talked with Potts, and co-star Iain Armitage (the socially awkward 14-year-old genius Sheldon Cooper), about how they’re feeling about the show’s end. The duo also shared their reaction to Jim Parsons’ return as the adult Sheldon in the finale episode and previewed this week’s episode,...

Nominations for the 2024 Outer Critics Circle Awards were announced on Tuesday, April 23. The stars of the hit Broadway revival of “Merrily We Roll Along,” Jonathan Groff, Lindsay Mendez and Daniel Radcliffe, read off the nominees live from the Museum of Broadway.
Off-Broadway productions ultimately out-paced Broadway with this critics group. The new David Yazbek musical “Dead Outlaw” led the pack with nine nominations. It was followed by “The Connector,” another Off-Broadway musical, and “Stereophonic,” a lauded Broadway play, with seven nominations each.
While there are no Tony nominators in the Outer Critics Circle membership, these nominations can provide some clues as to how theater aficionados are thinking about this season’s Tony race. Of the five productions cited for Best New Broadway Musical, only “Days of Wine and Roses” and “Suffs” made the cut in the all-important Best Score category. They were joined by two Off-Broadway entries, as well as...

CBS is ending three of its longest-running series next month, and the network has officially confirmed the series finale dates.
Bob Hearts Abishola is kicking things off with the series finale of the Billy Gardell comedy set for Monday, May 6, at 8:30/7:30c.
The series has been on the chopping block for some time.
Alarm bells sounded for fans last season when CBS confirmed that only Gardell and Folake Olowofoyeku would return as series regulars.
At that point, the fifth season wasn’t revealed to be the concluding chapter of the series, but the news followed months later.
The show has done an admirable job of trying to keep many of the ousted series regulars in play as guest stars and recurring players.

The Tony Award nominations are set to take place April 30, and in the lead-up, the month is jam-packed with Broadway openings, with 14 taking place over the course of 11 days.
While the days before the Tony Awards eligibility cutoff, on April 25, are typically filled with openings, many industry insiders are optimistic that this year’s rush spells somewhat of a return to normalcy. But with the influx of shows and changing audience makeup, producers are also anxious about making sure their shows stand out to ticket-buyers and can make it to the Tony Awards ceremony on June 16 and beyond.
“It largely feels very exciting. For the first time in a while, it really feels like we are back to pre-pandemic levels of volume,” says Greg Nobile, producer of several shows on Broadway this season, including the new musicals Lempicka and Illinoise and the play revival of An Enemy of the People.

Emily Osment had her reservations about scene partner Montana Jordan when she first stepped foot on the set of Young Sheldon midway through Season 5.
“I think I asked like five different people if you were over 18 because you looked so young,” Osment tells Jordan in the video above. “I think I was 29 or 30 at the time… and that was new for me. I mean, usually, it goes the other way. Usually, I’m like, how old is this guy? So, it was refreshing.”
