Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. With filming underway on Quentin Tarantino's slavery/spaghetti wester/vengeance tale "Django Unchained" the production has been keeping everything surrounding the film tightly under wraps, with little leaking out. Until now.
A first look at Christoph Waltz in costume as Dr. King Schultz on the set of the film has arrived (ChristophWaltzFans.com via Ontd). He plays the bounty hunter who pairs up with a freed slave (Jamie Foxx) to track down his wife (Kerry Washington) who is being held by a sadistic plantation owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). What else can we tell you that you don't already know...and holy shit, is that a gun in his pocket or is Waltz just happy to see you? And here's a small additional morsel of info. Last month, the Hattiesburg American reported that largely unknown actor Johnny McPhail landed a...

Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" is in the midst of production, under a surprisingly tight veil of secrecy that has prevented any significant leaks coming from the movie (except for some super bland shots of some completely empty sets). To be sure, this is the director's starriest and arguably most controversial outing yet, a slavery/western/vengeance tale that features a lengthy credit scroll that includes Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kerry Washington, Dennis Christopher, Kurt Russell, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, M.C. Gainey, Tom Savini, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anthony Lapaglia, RZA, Misty Upham, Tom Wopat, James Remar, James Russo, Todd Allen, Rex Linn, Catherine Lambert and Daniele Watts. Phew. And guess what: Tarantino is still adding players to his film.

Updates on the Django Unchained front have been non-existent for an entire month, but Tarantino fans can rejoice — some great new stuff has come in. First up, AdelaideNow (via ThePlaylist) report that Australian entertainer and “International Jazz Diva” Catherine Lambert has been “handpicked” by Qt for his Western.
Those of you who saw Lost in Translation (i.e., almost everyone) surely remember her appearance as the lounge singer who succumbs to the considerable charms of Bill Murray. Turns out the film, made by former Tarantino lover, Sofia Coppola, helped her get the part; as she told the outlet, “I met and sang karaoke with Quentin Tarantino when I went to La in 2004 for the DVD launch of Lost In Translation” (photo evidence). Whatever gets you the job.
Lambert also told them that she’s “not sure about the corsets,” but is “really looking forward to this experience,” and has been...

One more minor bit of casting it seems for Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" as it gears up to start rolling very, very soon. AdelaideNow reveals that Aussie and self-described International Jazz Diva Catherine Lambert is coming aboard the film, having been "handpicked" by the director. "I'm not sure about the corsets, but I'm really looking forward to this experience, " she told the paper, while also revealing how she landed in Tarantino's orbit. "I met and sang karaoke with Quentin Tarantino when I went to La in 2004 for the DVD launch of 'Lost In Translation.' " Anything seem familiar yet? Fans of Sofia Coppola's film might remember that Lambert featured as the lounge singer in the hotel, crooning her way throught a handful of songs. No word yet on her role here, but it's probably a safe assumption she'll take on a similar part here as some kind of entertainer.
