Paulini has revealed that she wanted to honour heroic firefighters in her latest single. The 29-year-old Australian singer, who was a contestant on 2003's Australian Idol, said that she realised that she wanted to pay tribute to firefighters and also have some "cheeky" fun with their pin-up status in the video for 'Fireman'. Paulini told The Daily Telegraph: "I was in New York in Brooklyn and a fire truck drove past with the sirens blaring. I looked over at a bunch of girls and they were going off, waving and cheering the firemen. [So] I thought, 'Let's write a song that's cheeky, but also celebrates what they do'.
