Keisha Alfred
- Actress
Keisha grew up in Brooklyn, New York, a descendant of Trinidadian
parents. She fell in love with acting as a very young child and
performed in grade school as the first Black "Little Orphan Annie" and
as Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks. Her mother who grew up very poor
believed in the importance of education and persuaded Keisha to become
a nurse. She graduated at the top of her nursing classes as well as her
acting classes. She worked as a bedside nurse for many years. The fire
of wanting to improve health care quality as well becoming a working
actress are still her main goals. Her favorite quote is "Our deepest
fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are
powerful beyond measure. It is our light, and not our darkness that
most frighten us" by Marianne Williamson.
