Galina Zimenkova(1941-2023)
Galina Zimenkova is a Honored Artist of the RSFSR and announcer of the USSR Central Television.
Galina Zimenkova was born in Kazan'. She graduated from theater school, and then from the Leningrad State Institute of Culture named after Nadezhda Krupskaya. She worked as an announcer for news programs on Kazan' television and hosted concerts. Later she moved to Moscow. From 1969 to 1991 she worked as an announcer for the Central Television of the All-Union Radio. She hosted the Vremya (1968) program together with Igor Kirillov, Evgeniy Kochergin and other legendary announcers.
After leaving television, Galina Mikhaylovna devoted herself to teaching. She taught students in Japan the Russian language, and in Moscow she passed on speaking techniques and camera skills to aspiring journalists.
