- Dan Forden has been a professional sound designer for over 15 years. He has made tunes for Midway and William games, like Artic Thunder, Mortal Kombat, Tao Feng and The Grid.
Dan Forden graduated from TIMARA University of Chicago, Illinois in 1985 with degree in music/studio operation. From there, Forden started small working with pinball design teams with tunes. He made tunes for several Williams/Midway Bally pinball games. In 1992, Forden and some of the Midway pinball crew graduated from making mini scroll games and pinball machines to realistic, never-seen before combat games.
Composition for the Mortal Kombat series, Dan got ideas by examining the background from the design team. He had a keyboard hooked to a computer with a modulator device. From there he'd make fascinating melodic midi music with his special custom sounds and samples from CDs.
