While Jimmy Kimmel was visiting the Live With Kelly And Mark show, he took his opportunity to jab Mark Consuelos for his poor choice. Undeniably, as a guest, it was a backhanded roast in Kelly Ripa and Mark’s home court. But Kelly was happy to join forces.
Jimmy Kimmel And Kelly Ripa Gang Up On Mark Consuelos
During a recent episode of Live With Kelly And Mark, Kelly Ripa gets support from the guest, Jimmy Kimmel. Undoubtedly, Mark Consuelos and Kelly know each other well with their twenty-eight years of marriage together. However, even with their experience, Mark finds ways to agitate Kelly. While it isn’t uncommon for Kelly to call out Mark about this or that, it is unusual for the guest and Kelly to bombard him together. But Jimmy was more than happy to accommodate by bringing up a sensitive matter: Mother’s Day.

Mark Consuelos made it through his 28th anniversary with Kelly Ripa and her birthday this year just fine, but it seems he floundered with his Mother’s Day offering.
The popular Live with Kelly and Mark star shared a photo of his wife, Kelly, and his mom, Camilla, on Instagram, but not without being blasted because of his choice of photo.
According to what Kelly revealed to Jimmy Kimmel recently on the show, Mark may be in the doghouse again.
Mark is no stranger to Kelly getting upset with him; he got into hot water last winter when he made fun of Kelly’s sleeping habits, as reported by Monsters and Critics.
This time, Jimmy Kimmel used Mark’s choice of a Mother’s Day photo as an example of what not to do for your wife or mom on Mother’s Day.

For those who were wondering, “Where in the world is Jon Stewart?” when tuning in to Monday’s The Daily Show (which was hosted by correspondent Jordan Klepper), viewers only had to tune in to Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Stewart, who has been behind the desk at the Comedy Central staple on Mondays for two months, took the night off the desk for the Netflix Is a Joke festival happening in Los Angeles. On Friday, he headlined at The Greek Theatre for his “Jon Stewart and Friends” show, which saw him bring out Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman and Mike Birbiglia as special guests. Stewart is also slated to be a guest on John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A. on Netflix this week, a set of live talk shows that are part of the streamer’s fest.

Asked to recall her favorite moment on Jimmy Kimmel Live this past year, Molly McNearney answers without hesitation.
“I really loved Jimmy’s response to Trump’s most recent Truth Social post,” she explains, referring to Kimmel’s blistering monologue on Wednesday April 18th, in which he fact-checked a post from the former president in which Trump criticized Kimmel for an Oscars ratings drop that didn’t happen and a Best Picture presentation that he didn’t give.
McNearney is co-head writer and an executive producer on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She’s also married to Kimmel, giving her unique insight into the host’s thinking when he first saw Trump’s post early that morning.
“I had dropped the kids off at school and came home,” McNearney explained in a roundtable discussion with GoldDerby.com this weekend. “He was like pacing—’have you seen? Have you looked at your phone?’ And I was like,...

‘Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston, though not very active on Instagram, recently offered her followers a glimpse into her busy life. The actress took to her Instagram and shared a carousel of images, including a selfie where she pouted her lips in a car, reports ‘People’ magazine.
Jennifer displayed her grown-out lob hairstyle, which she sported for much of the awards season in support of her series ‘The Morning Show’ this year.
According to ‘People’, several other photos in the carousel featured two of her three dogs, Lord Chesterfield and Clyde, lounging around and giving her some puppy-dog eyes.
Another shot captured Jennifer during a workout session at Pvolve — the celebrity-endorsed workout brand she previously partnered with — posing for a mirror selfie with the company’s director of training, Dani Coleman.

Ratings were continuing to climb for the 96th annual Oscars that took place March 12, especially following the all-time lows of the pandemic years. With Jimmy Kimmel returning for his fourth stint as host and second in a row, reviews were upbeat for the most part and the show benefited from a good movie year with blockbusters like Barbie and Best Picture winner Oppenheimer.
Oscarcast executive producers Raj Kapoor, Katy Mullan and Molly McNearney (who also was a writer) and director Hamish Hamilton joined Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted event to break it down.

(Updated with more details) The Vice President is no longer heading to late-night.
VP Kamala Harris was set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tomorrow night (Tuesday April 16).
However, her appearance has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. Though the VP did end up flying back into LA from her quick trip to Las Vegas today, and not going to DC, no reason for Harris’ absence from the ABC late nighter was given.
However, the White House has announced that the Vice President “will participate in a campaign event” later in the day on Tuesday. Kimmel usually films that night’s show in the late afternoon — which is around the same time the Veep’s campaign event appears to be occurring.

Ryan Gosling visited “The Tonight Show” ahead of his latest hosting stint on “Saturday Night Live” and spoke about his internet-breaking live performance of “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars last month. Asked by host Jimmy Fallon if it was an immediate yes when the Academy called him up to request he perform the “Barbie” original song live during the ceremony, Gosling said his answer was “100% no.”
“There’s a lot of ways that could go wrong,” Gosling said.
But the performance went very right. Gosling, bathed in pink lighting and wearing a sparkling pink suit and pink gloves, started singing “I’m Just Ken” while in the audience sitting behind Margot Robbie. He then made his way to the stage, where he was joined by Mark Ronson and Slash on guitars. His fellow Ken actors Simu Liu, Scott Evans, Ncuti Gatwa and Kingsley Ben-Adir joined the armada of backup dancers behind Gosling.

Exclusive: Vice President Kamala Harris is heading back to late-night.

It is her latest appearance on the ABC show; Harris previously appeared on Kimmel’s show in March 2019, when she was running for top office.
During that appearance, she talked about the campaign trail, said “age is more than a chronological fact” when asked whether Biden or Senator Bernie Sanders were too old to run for President, and noted that she was “open to the discussion” of getting rid of the Electoral college.
Kimmel has previously defended Vice President Harris’ low approval ratings, blaming “sexism and racism”.
Last year, Harris appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and in 2022 made her first late-night appearance since becoming VP on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she talked up her administration’s plans to fight climate change,...

Michael Keaton is regarded as one of the finest actors in the entertainment industry who gained worldwide recognition when he starred as Bruce Wayne a.k.a., Batman in 1989’s Batman and later 1992’s Batman Returns. Directed by Tim Burton, the DC superhero movie was only given a green signal after Burton’s 1988 Beetlejuice was a success.
Keaton’s casting was considered a controversy at the time since the actor had been pigeonholed as a comic actor and fans along with critics weren’t sure if he could portray a serious character like Batman. The actor’s performance was highly lauded by the audience and the critics after the movie was released. The actor recently reprised the character for 2023’s The Flash and was later asked about the future of his Batman in Dcu.

Michael Keaton is sharing how his Batman appearance at the Oscars 2024 came to be.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor-director explained that either Jimmy Kimmel or Oscars producer Molly McNearney reached out to him about the bit ahead of the awards show, and he thought it would be fun.
The bit saw Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito take the stage on Sunday night to present the award for best visual effects, which went to Godzilla: Minus One. But apparently, they weren’t reuniting as Twins co-stars but as Batman villains, with Keaton’s Dark Knight in the audience. (Schwarzenegger portrayed Mr. Frieze in Batman & Robin, which starred George Clooney’s Batman, and DeVito took on the role of The Penguin in Batman Returns.)
When Kimmel asked about his menacing look at the men onstage, Keaton joked that he could take on both of their villains any time.

Hollywood legend Al Pacino, who didn’t name all the 10 nominees for Best Picture at the recently held 96th Academy Awards before announcing the winner, has issued a clarification detailing what led to the awkward moment on stage.
He issued a statement amid questions surrounding his appearance during the 2024 Oscars ceremony, where he awkwardly presented the best picture category, reports ‘Variety’. The actor, who won an Academy Award for best actor in ‘Scent of a Woman’, simply opened the envelope and said, “And my eyes see ‘Oppenheimer’”, at the award ceremony.
“There seems to be some controversy about my not mentioning every film by name last night before announcing the best picture award,” Pacino said in a statement. “I just want to be clear it was not my intention to omit them, rather a choice by the producers not to have them said again since they were highlighted individually throughout the ceremony.

The Oscars are the biggest award that an actor, filmmaker, or screenwriter can ever get for their work, and thus fans tune in large numbers to view the ceremony. While the excitement of having their favorite bag one of the best accolades is there, the excitement is further amplified to witness their other favorites presenting the prestigious awards.

Turns out LateNighter’s Bill Carter isn’t the only one who thought Jimmy Kimmel’s fourth go at The Oscars Sunday night was a success.
In an interview with Variety Monday, ABC’s executive vice president of Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment Rob Mills sang Kimmel’s praises, saying he planned to “beg” the late-night host to host again next year.
But that’s not all. “If he wants to sign a lifetime contract, I would love that, Mills added. “Jimmy has just got this down. He’s got the playbook perfected.”
Given that Kimmel says he’s considering retiring from hosting his own show when his current contract ends, he’s not likely to sign anything anytime soon.
Asked on Monday whether she thought they’d return next year, Kimmel’s wife and producing partner Molly McNearney told Variety, “I would obviously be honored to do it. But I honestly don’t know.

When Al Pacino took the stage to present the Academy Award for Best Picture at the Oscars, some wondered if the actor had made a mistake when he jumped straight to announcing Oppenheimer as the winner. Typically, the presenter reads the title of each nominated movie, but Pacino has made a statement to clear the air, saying that he was just following what the producers wanted.
“There seems to be some controversy about my not mentioning every film by name last night before announcing the best picture award,” Pacino said in a statement. “I just want to be clear it was not my intention to omit them, rather a choice by the producers not to have them said again since they were highlighted individually throughout the ceremony. All Ryan Gosling needed was a 40-piece orchestra, 62 dancing Kens, over 24 gigantic Barbie heads, four “cameo Kens” and a Guns N’Roses surprise to turn his highly anticipated performance of “Barbie” track “I’m Just Ken” into one of the most unbelievable moments in award show history.
After all the protracted speculation about whether Gosling would perform “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars, the news broke in late February that he had been confirmed for a song and dance extravaganza. But in fact, Oscars producers had been talking to Gosling for months.
“Ryan Gosling is a true professional, that man — we met with him on Zooms months ago, talking about that performance,” said Molly McNearney, who produced the show with Raj Kapoor, Katy Mullan and Rob Paine. “Greta Gerwig weighed in creatively as well. He was so committed to it. His choreographer, Mandy Moore, is exceptional — she was on all the calls.

Fearing “not just a fine from the FCC, but potential complaints” from viewers, the producers of this year’s Oscars telecast took great pains to make sure that John Cena’s, um, peacemaker did not make a primetime appearance — all whilst maintaining the illusion that the actor was 100% naked behind that envelope.

Al Pacino’s unconventional delivery of the 2024 Oscars’ best picture winner Sunday night had some people in the audience wondering if the Godfather star was winging it with Oscar tradition, but Pacino says he was largely following the Academy’s own script.

Freedom and independence fueled many of this year’s Oscar wins, from “Oppenheimer” and “American Fiction” to “Poor Things” and “Anatomy of a Fall.” Creative choices and thinking outside the box paid off for these Oscar winners. Let Hollywood greenlighters take note that Universal’s gamble on “Oppenheimer” paid off big time, along with Warners’ bet on Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” which was by no means a guaranteed success.
Accepting the Oscar for Adapted Screenplay for “American Fiction,” backed by T-Street and MRC before it was picked up by MGM/Amazon, TV writer-turned-filmmaker Cord Jefferson said, “I recognize that so many people weren’t given the opportunity I was given. Instead of one $200-million movie, try making 20 $10-million movies.”
Amen to that.
“Oppenheimer,” Christopher Nolan, and Donna Langley
“Oppenheimer” took home its expected seven Oscars, including Nolan’s first wins ever after eight nominations, for Best Picture and Director.

Just minutes before the Oscars were set to begin, the show’s producers realized they had a problem: Some of the year’s key A-listers and nominees weren’t inside the Dolby Theatre just yet. The perfect storm of traffic delays, pro-Palestine protests, the first day of daylight saving time and an earlier start time had contributed to the last-minute crunch.
“We were definitely stressed out, because we had to have certain celebrities in their seats,” Oscars producer Molly McNearney — also an EP on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” — tells Variety on Monday morning. “We talk to people in the monologue. And in order to for that to pay off, you want to see their reactions. We were still waiting on five or six people to get into their seats. It was definitely chaotic to get them all in quickly. So we pushed by five minutes, which didn’t feel like too much.

The most shocking part of Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony: It ran ahead of schedule.
Jimmy Kimmel emceed the event for his fourth time, warming up the audience at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood with a zippy monologue that kept the night cruising despite its brief delay. Even though the host made multiple jokes that the show would almost definitely run over time, it didn’t, which left him with a few free minutes to read a social media post from none other than former President Donald Trump.

Right after hosting the 2024 Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel was interviewed backstage by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos for their annual post-Oscars “Live” special and gave his quick reactions to some of the ceremony’s buzziest moments. Kimmel’s final bit as host was reading out loud Donald Trump’s criticism of the show, which Trump posted on Truth Social earlier in the night.
“Has there Ever been a Worse Host than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” Trump posted. “His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be…Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years – Disjointed, boring, and very unfair. Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. Make America Great Again!”

I’m going to begin with a confession: I like to think of myself as both a decent son — Hi, Mom! — and an Anglophile, but before tonight, I’d gone 40-something years of my life without realizing that the British had a different Mother’s Day.
Or maybe I’ve known and forgotten? Either way, it was impossible to forget during Sunday (March 10) night’s telecast of the 96th Academy Awards, in which U.K. Mother’s Day got more onstage references than Gaza, Ukraine and Donald Trump combined.
It wasn’t that politics were wholly absent in the telecast, but a decree seemed to have gone around that the two highest-profile international tragedies of the moment could be addressed once apiece, both effectively.
Jonathan Glazer used his Zone of Interest international feature win to echo the film’s message on dehumanization in declaring, “Whether the victims of October the...

The Academy Awards unfolded pretty much as expected, with “Oppenheimer” dominating, and the only real shocks coming in the — wait, there weren’t any huge ones, actually. As predicted, “Oppenheimer” steamrolled, getting seven Oscars in total. It won the top prize for picture, as well as Christopher Nolan winning for director, Cillian Murphy for actor and Robert Downey Jr. for supporting actor — along with Hoyte van Hoytema winning for cinematography, Jennifer Lame for editing and Ludwig Göransson for score.

Looks like fourth time is truly a charm for Jimmy Kimmel and the Academy Awards.
Back hosting the Oscars for the second year in a row and the fourth time overall, the ABC Late Night front man took a show where most of the big winners were pretty predictable and gave it some much needed bite. “See kids, sometimes smoking is fine,” Kimmel quipped after Da’Vine Joy Randolph won her Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her cigarette imbibing role in The Holdovers.
Sometimes kids, it’s worth packing a punch — as the Academy Awards proved Sunday.

ABC late-night TV legends Jimmy Kimmel and Ted Koppel reunited earlier this week for an Oscars-focused interview that aired today on CBS Sunday Morning.
At the top of the ten-minute segment, we’re taken to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! writers room, where 21 comedy writers are workshopping jokes for the 96th Academy Awards, which Kimmel is hosting tonight on ABC.
Later in the segment, Koppel sits down exclusively with Kimmel and Molly McNearney, the executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, tonight’s Oscars broadcast ep, and yes, Kimmel’s wife.
McNearney and Kimmel explained their relationship with comedy and one another. McNearney said she is protective of Kimmel “because he is not protective of himself,” adding, “he is much more of a risk taker, and I don’t ever like him getting attacked for anything.” Kimmel responded, “I just want to hear the laugh, it doesn’t really matter how it comes.

The Academy Awards are finally (almost) here, sending off the spectacular cinematic year of 2023 with bang.
The 2024 Oscars will take place tonight, with Jimmy Kimmel returning to host. This year’s crop of contenders range from “Barbie” to “Oppenheimer,” “American Fiction” to “The Holdovers,” and “Anatomy of a Fall” to “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
While certain categories seem to have a sure frontrunner — like Lily Gladstone in the Best Actress race for her performance in Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Oppenheimer” star Robert Downey Jr. as Best Supporting Actor, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Best Supporting Actress for “The Holdovers” — others are thoroughly a toss-up in terms of predictions.

Kimmel previously said he returned to emcee the show partly because he had a feeling a popular movie might be nominated, arguing that it’s easier to joke about something the audience has seen.

He said he also felt that with Top Gun: Maverick, which landed six Oscar nominations, including a nod for best picture, at the 2023 Oscars: “I knew there was a movie that people had seen, and it just makes the job easier.”

If everything old really is new again, the creative team behind Sunday’s 96th Academy Awards from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood is hoping that putting forward some of the choices from past Oscar ceremonies will prove inspired this time around as well. During a virtual press conference this week with executive producer and showrunner Raj Kapoor, exec producers Molly McNearney (also host Jimmy Kimmel’s wife) and Katy Mullan, and music director Rickey Minor, they pointed to a few new wrinkles this time around – the most significant of which repeats a brainchild that drew raves during the first and only time it was attempted in 2009. That would be the introduction of each nominee in all four acting categories individually by a past winner.

Oscar producers Raj Kapoor, Katy Mullan, Molly McNearney and Rob Paine, as well as music director Rickey Minor are days away from the 96th Academy Awards.
But they took time out on Wednesday afternoon to share insight into what to expect from Sunday’s ceremony. In a conversation moderated by Jacqueline Coley, Awards Editor at Rotten Tomatoes, Kapoor said this year’s theme is “human connection, emotion, inspiration and creativity.”
A major highlight that has both fans and producers excited is the news of five former winners presenting to the five nominees. The idea was inspired by Bill Condon when he produced the 81st Academy Awards. Kapoor said the team had done a deep dive into past ceremonies and that stuck with them the most. Said Kapoor, “It was this lovely storytelling and again it came down to connection. It was past winners speaking to present nominees and that lovely connection and that human interaction.

It is crunch time for Raj Kapoor, Katy Mullan, and Molly McNearney, the three Executive Producers of the 96th Annual Academy Awards. As they are putting final touches in place for what they hope will be a show that honors not just this year’s crop of movies but also Hollywood’s and Oscar’s rich history, the trio are planning a ceremony that excites viewers to the point of keeping the recent post-pandemic ratings rise rising.
All indications are good that this could be a banner year, ratings wise, for the Oscars, particularly with the potency and popularity of this year’s Best Picture contenders, most notably the dual phenomenon of summer blockbusters Barbie and front-runner Oppenheimer (aka Barbenheimer) which have 21 nominations between them. As host Jimmy Kimmel told me earlier this week, viewers will have actually seen this year’s movies and have a rooting interest in the outcome.

As the Oscars continue to evolve under the watch of Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang, a new trio of executive producers have been tasked with making Hollywood’s biggest night one that millions of viewers will remember.
Though showrunner Raj Kapoor and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” head writer Molly McNearney are no strangers to producing the Academy Awards, having worked on last year’s broadcast, this year Kramer and Yang bypassed 2023 Oscar producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner in favor of their own homegrown team.
“There is no expectation that you continually work on the show, because things change and evolve,” said five-year Oscar show veteran Kapoor to IndieWire during a Zoom joined by his new colleagues. “This is the next evolution, the three of us coming together. We are the trifecta this year.”

ABC’s March 10 live telecast also coincides with the “spring forward” of the first day of Daylight Savings, further confusing matters for viewers in the vast majority of the U.S..
So when telecast showrunner Raj Kapoor and fellow executive producers Molly McNearney and Katy Mullan hopped on Zoom earlier this week, they were happy to talk about everything from crisis plans to “in memoriam” pressure, that Barbie promo and the inherent foolishness of trying to engineer a viral moment. But they were also really keen to remind Oscar fans about that new time slot.
Ok, we’re just a few days out. Is any part of you a little worried that people still haven’t gotten...
