Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly… We’re apparently on the road to Wrestlemania so let’s get into it!
Match #1: Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio def. Johnny Gargano & Dexter Lumis The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Moments after Rhea Ripley caused a distraction at ringside, things began to fly off the rails. Dominik took advantage of Johnny Gargano’s back being turned to knock he out of the action. Then, although Dexter Lumis locked in the submission on Dominik, he didn’t see Priest tag into the match. As result, Priest landed an earth-shattering kick before finishing off Lumis with South of Heaven.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Cody Rhodes def. LA Knight The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
LA Knight may have been insulted that he didn’t have a WrestleMania match as of yet,...

Stomp, the award-winning percussion, rhythm and comedy production created by Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell, will take its final off-Broadway bow this winter.
On Tuesday, producers announced the long-running show would close, with its final performance at the Orpheum Theatre set for Jan. 8, 2023. The closing is “due to declining ticket sales,” a spokesperson for the production told The Hollywood Reporter.
“We are so proud that the East Village and the Orpheum Theatre has been Stomp’s home for so many wonderful years and want to thank our producers and our amazing cast, crew and front-of-house staff, all of whom have worked so hard for so long to make the show such a success,” Cresswell and McNicholas said in a statement. “They have always given 100 percent to every audience, from the very beginning in 1994 to the post-lockdown audiences of 2022. We want to thank everyone...

Stomp, the percussive Off Broadway staple that has drawn tourists and locals to its East Village theater for nearly 30 years, will close on January 8, 2023, producers announced today.
The show, which combines percussion, movement, comedy and everyday objects transformed into musical instruments, will continue its North American and European tours.
Though producers didn’t specify a reason for the closure, New York tourism and the theater industry has yet to fully recover to pre-Covid levels. Stomp was among New York’s first stage productions to resume performances after the 15-month 2020-21 shutdown, resuming its drumbeats on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
Stomp‘s team of producers said in a statement today, “We fell in love with Stomp when we first saw it in Europe and when we brought this hard-to-describe show here, we imagined that it would find an audience. We could not have imagined the remarkable success it would enjoy, becoming part of popular culture,...

Match #1: Bobby Lashley def. Mustafa Ali The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After Bobby Lashley and Mustafa Ali both called their shots on United States Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins, the two would engage in a scuffle that could only lead to one thing: a match inside the squared circle. Ali took it to Lashley early but The All Mighty was in no mood and dispatched the young upstart with multiple Spinebusters, followed by a gargantuan Spear and a Hurt Lock to force the referee to call the match.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Mia Yim def. Tamina The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Welcome to this review of this week’s Monday Night Raw, right here on Nerdly, in this new Triple H era where anything goes… So let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Seth “Freakin” Rollins def. Angelo Dawkins The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
One week after Montez Ford valiantly fought The Visionary, Ford’s partner Angelo Dawkins got the chance to shut up Seth “Freakin” Rollins for good. After the match last week, Rollins tried to put Ford on the shelf wiht a post-match Stomp, but Dawkins came chase him away. Dawkins started off hot, nailing Rollins with a pounce on the outside of the ring. After Rollins mocked Ford, who was at ringside, Ford brought a steel chair to the ring, but Ford was thrown out by the official, giving Rollins an extra edge. Perhaps motivated by the ejection of Ford, Dawkins hit a Silencer on...

Match #1: Triple Threat Match – Aj Styles def. Mustafa Ali and The Miz The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Aj Styles overcame Mustafa Ali and The Miz in an ultra-fast slugfest. Seconds after Ali hit Miz with the 450 Splash, The Phenomenal One used Ali’s momentum to grab him and execute the Styles Clash for the three-count. The win earned Styles the right to compete for a United States Championship opportunity later in the evening.

The Voca People are friendly aliens from the planet Voca, somewhere behind the sun…where all communication is made by music and vocal expressions. Okay! That is the official description of the Off Broadway show, Voca People, in which white folks (as in literally white, not Caucasian) do something where they live off Musical Energy as aliens on Earth just trying to get by on the sweet sounds of melody and beatboxing. It’s like if Blue Man Group had a baby with Stomp, and that baby was both a big Glee fan and also a weirdo. In appearing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, the Voca People are able to impress and terrifying on an equal plane, which is never an easy task, unless you’re Mel Gibson filming the sequel to Schindler’s List. #Heyo [via Playbill]...

This week saw the opening of two new Broadway productions, both revivals: The Neil Simon Plays: Brighton Beach Memoirs, a comedy-drama starring former Roseanne star Laurie Metcalf (left), which I described as "a fine revival, easily the best show of a young Broadway season," and the musical Finian's Rainbow, which Tanner Stransky called "an odd, farcical muscial" that is "well cast and smartly performed." Still hunting for something to see on stage? Check out the EW.com Stage hub for up-to-date news and reviews; or consult this handy guide below, which includes links to all of our stage reviews of current shows.
