Karl Fuchs(1924-1990)
Karl Fuchs along with his wife Eileen Fuchs founded the Austrian Ski School, at the Struan House Hotel in Carrbridge, Aviemore, Scotland in 1954. Karl was born in 1924 in Pernegg, Steiermark, Austria and died in his sleep in September 1990 at Kinveachy Croft, Boat of Garten, Scotland. Their son, Peter Fuchs, became a prominent skier at the National Championships at St Moritz in 1974. He was among the top 20 skiers in the world and was a member of the Great Britain team at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. Sadly, he was killed in a car crash in 1980.
