- Former German soccer player, compiling 35 caps for Germany's national side. During his professional club career, he played for Mönchengladbach (1987-1990, 1994-1998), Bayern Munich (1990-1992, 1998-2002), AC Fiorentina (1992-1994), VfL Wolfsburg (2002-2003) and Al Arabi (2003-2004).
- Best remembered for showing the finger to whistling German fans during a match against South Korea at the 1994 FIFA World Cup USA (1994). Thus, he had to leave Germany's national team.
