Updated, Monday 12:06 p.m. Pt: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tried to prepare his country for a long war, saying in a televised speech that “this battle will not end until we end and eliminate our enemy.”
“The pictures that you see from Hamas are just the beginning. We have killed many of those fighters. Every place where Hamas is active and working will be completely destroyed.”
Portions of the speech were carried on major cable news networks, with translation. CNN featured a split screen of Netanyahu and network correspondent Hadas Gold translating for viewers.
“We all want results right here, right now, but it will take some time,” Netanyahu said. “But I promise you dear citizens: At the end of the war, all of our enemies will know it was a terrible mistake to attack Israel.”

Viewers have seen the aristocratic Crawley family celebrate many a Christmas on the hit historical drama Downtown Abbey; now, fans are getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how the show’s real-life castle looks during the holiday season. On Friday’s (December 23) edition of the Today show, NBC News London Correspondent, Kelly Cobiella, was on location at Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England, where Julian Fellowes‘ period drama is filmed. The enormous country house, which was built in 1679 and largely renovated in the 1840s, was all decked out for the Christmas holiday. The centerpiece of the house is a 25-foot Christmas tree, which Lady Carnarvon revealed is “bigger than Windsor Castle’s Christmas tree” and needed at least 20 people to erect. This year, the tree, as well as the rest of the house, is decorated in an Ancient Egyptian theme, highlighting Tutankamun and the gold and treasures discovered by Lord Carnarvon’s great-grandfather,...

The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, Sep. 19, is shaping up to be a global spectacle. World leaders, including President Biden, will be in attendance, and the world’s media will be there, too.
The queen’s funeral will be the first time such an event has been broadcast on television. In 1952, when Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne, the funeral procession of King George VI was televised in the U.K., but the funeral itself remained private. Not so this time.
While the BBC will be the official broadcaster of the proceedings, every U.S. TV news organization will be in attendance, flying in many of their top anchors and blowing up their typical programming lineups to carry it live.
Here’s what’s planned from the U.S. TV news networks.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are elated that North West will be getting a brother by year's end, but they didn't resort to extreme measures to ensure that Baby No. 2 will be a boy. Dr. Jennifer Ashton realizes not all viewers are necessarily embracing a daytime-tv revolution.
Previously a medical contributor for CBS News, the New Jersey-based physician will report on health issues as one of the five regulars on "The Revolution," the lifestyle-oriented ABC program that makes its weekday debut Monday, Jan. 16. Just as "All My Children" fans spoke loudly when "The Chew" replaced that serial, Ashton expects to hear many "One Life to Live" supporters when "The Revolution" inherits that time slot.
"I feel empathy and sympathy for them," she tells Zap2it, "for the fact that something they were so attached to is no longer going to be there. I think we're very aware that a lot of those people will not have an open mind in terms of considering 'The Revolution' or 'The Chew' as shows they might be interested in watching.
"I would say the same thing to them...
