Actor Aniruddh Dave, known for his works in ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Shorgul’, ‘Suryaputra Karn’, ‘Patiala Babes’ etc, opened up on the transition from TV to films, and said he believes that not giving up should be the motto of an artist.
Aniruddh has bagged a role in the film ‘Chandu Champion’, starring Kartik Aaryan.
Talking about transitioning from a TV actor to films, he said: “I believe that not giving up should be the motto for an actor because it’s something where you have to see your work, learn, face the challenges every day, and keep going.”
He shared: “Yes, priorities change when you are doing television; as you are busy for the whole month. And unless that show is running, for six months, a year, or two, you can’t really do anything else. You have to play that role every day.”
For ‘Chandu Champion’, he said: “I was lucky to get the opportunity.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan is saying no to a version of the Msg Sphere. On Monday, the mayor rejected plans to bring a version of the entertainment venue to Olympic Park over concerns of light pollution, the high electric cost, and the impact on nearby heritage sites.
“London is open to investment from around the world and Sadiq wants to see more world-class, ambitious, innovative entertainment venues in our city,” said a spokesperson for the mayor to The Standard. “But as part of looking at the planning application for the Msg Sphere,...

London mayor Sadiq Khan has shot down plans for a local venue identical to Las Vegas’ new Msg Sphere, The Standard reports.
After Madison Square Garden Entertainment opened the doors to their $2.3 billion sphere in September, the company was keen on making Stratford, London the next location for one of its ultra-futuristic, high-tech domes. But Khan rejected the proposal, reportedly citing the potential light pollution, whopping electricity bills, and threat to local historical sites.
“London is open to investment from around the world and Sadiq wants to see more world-class, ambitious, innovative entertainment venues in our city,” a representative told The Standard. “But as part of looking at the planning application for the Msg Sphere, the Mayor has seen independent evidence that shows the current proposals would result in an unacceptable negative impact on local residents.”

The South Asian diaspora has been up for a treat recently with all the love for South Asian representation in shows like Mindy Kaling’s Never Have I Ever or Ms. Marvel Recently, Shekhar Kapoor’s What’s Love Got To Do With It? was also a Pakistani-English film, and Polite Society joins this list of brown meets world. At first impression, Polite Society looks like today’s version of Bend It Like Beckham, but it’s entirely different save for the cultural similarities and English slang. Polite Society is primarily a film about sisters, and then everything else follows. As a close sister myself, I found myself really enjoying this fantasy take on a story about what a younger sibling goes through when her sister leaves her home.

New Delhi, May 17 (Ians) Lucknow Super Giants have taken a crucial step towards playoff qualification by beating the Mumbai Indians by five runs in a hotly contested 2023 Ipl clash on Tuesday evening at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow.
Batting first, Lucknow set a formidable total of 177 runs behind Marcus Stoinis scoring 89 runs in a hard-hitting innings.
Mumbai had a great start to the innings with a 90-run opening partnership between Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma. However, it was not enough to chase the target down as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and failed to gain momentum. Tim David gave some hopes but a stellar final over by Mohsin Khan helped Lucknow get the much needed two points. This loss drops Mumbai to fourth in the standings while Lucknow are at third.

We’re coming up on the 50th Anniversary of the cultural phenomenon known as Star Trek. I go back that far (and somewhat farther); I saw The Original Series when it was Originally Run. I can say I was a fan from the beginning; I hated when it was cancelled, I was happy when I learned they were going to make a movie, I was horribly disappointed when I saw that movie, and I had my faith renewed when The Wrath of Khan came out and so on and so on.
However, I can’t say I was ever a Trekkie. (Yes, I know that for many, the correct term is “Trekker”; I’m sympathetic but the general public is more familiar with the designation “Trekkie” so that’s what I’m using.) I was and am a fan, especially of some of the movies, but not with the intensity that many feel.

7.10 The DArkest Night
Here we are, in the final days of our beloved high school murder mystery. The DArkest Knight was the last finale before the series finale, and did it deliver? Kind-of.
In my season six finale review I complained that the show had lost its flavour, the things that made it different, and become a parody of itself. While I'm not quite retracting that argument, I do feel like season seven has been a marked improvement. I'm excited about it again, and episodes like Hit and Run, Run, Run deserve to sit alongside the show's strongest outings.
More than anything, though, I'm ready for it to end. Not because it's terrible now, as some people are saying, but because I love it, and think it deserves to go out on its own terms.

The Ninth Doctor
Portrayed by: Christopher Eccleston
Companion(s): Rose Tyler, Adam Mitchell, Captain Jack Harkness
Tenure: 10 stories, from “Rose” (March 2005) to “Bad Wolf”/”The Parting of the Ways” (June 2005)
Signature look: Leather jacket, buzz cut
Catchphrase: “Fantastic!”
Personality: The Ninth Doctor is a tricky one. He often seems carefree and goofy, but this masks deep pain and rage. He’s fresh from the Time War and when confronted with a Dalek, his façade crumbles and he becomes unrecognizable to his Companion, Rose. The Ninth Doctor hates guns (except when faced with the Daleks) and has a slightly contentious, if light-hearted relationship with gunslinger Captain Jack. He always makes sure to give his adversaries the opportunity to leave peacefully, offering to help them find a non-violent solution to their needs (resources, space, etc.) and his joy at finding non-violent solutions is palpable. If all goes as planned, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill will reunite on the silver screen in 2015 for Star Wars: Episode VII, a movie set in the hours, days, years, decades or eons after Darth Vader’s torchlight funeral near the piney stomping grounds of the Ewoks. But when they reach the set next year, the actors will be 30 years removed from Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. A new generation of heroes and villains will clearly be needed to move the franchise on to Episode VIII and beyond, but how to accomplish that?

Hey Damon!
Thanks for indulging in this little public e-mail exercise — especially during your big opening weekend for "Prometheus."
I know you're no stranger to your projects dominating the pop culture conversation, but it's still got to be a kick to see "Prometheus" being talked about so much. How relieved are...

I'm switching up my column a bit this week by delving deep into "Prometheus" with the co-writer of the film, Damon Lindelof ("Lost," the 2013 "Star Trek" sequel). What follows is a Spoiler-heavy conversation about "Prometheus" we conducted via e-mail over the film's opening weekend. If you haven't seen "Prometheus" or don't consider yourself a geek, the following is going to confuse the hell out of you.

You know that scene in The Wrath Of Khan – yes, you probably know the one I mean. The scene in which Kirk bellows an impotent “Khaaaaaaaan!!!!” at the top of his lungs to the frightwigged old goat, who's been cruelly tormenting his bewigged adversary with the threat of being “Buried alive. Buried alive”. Don't you just feel like doing that some days whenever someone's making your day hell? You could yell “Caaaaammm!!!” at chubby chops posh boy Prime Minister for reducing your job prospects and financial status to the level of zero. You could yell “Khaaaaaaannn-fused.com!!!” at the TV whenever that wretched advert comes on TV, starring a cartoon of what looks like a psycho axe murderer who, along with her tone-deaf buddies can't sing for toffee. And now having sat through the two-part A Good Man Goes To War/Let's Kill Hitler, I'm left shouting “Mooooofffff!!!” at the air like an idiot.

Model-actress Mahek Chahal, who was voted out from .Bigg Boss., says people resent her bonding with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and clarifies that he was not instrumental in getting her into the reality show..It.s very unfair. Please judge me for who I am. If Khan Sahib is a star and he happens to be my friend, then what is wrong in that? Is it my fault if he.s my friend?.There was not a single contestant within .Bigg Boss. who didn.t try to make friends with Khan sahib. Why negate my achievements? Saying that I.m friends with Khan sahib and so I.d win the show is so unfair,. said Mahek who debuted with .Nayee Padosan. and later fearured in Salman Khan starrer .Wanted..She denies the charge that she got into .Bigg Boss. because of her Salman connection..Even if he did recommend me,...

October 20, 2010: Khan Sahib, 65 years of a life well-lived. How do you look back on the years that have rolled by?
I am very grateful to God that people have accepted me at every age and stage of my life with whatever I had to offer with love and encouragement.
What would you say have been the most significant happenings in remarkable existence?
I think the birth of my sons Amaan and Ayaan in my life has been the most beautiful moment and that they have been accepted by the world. They have carried forward the musical torch of my family along with my disciples.
You are regarded as one of the handsomest men in our country. How have you dealt with the constant female.

It's a wrap! The Martin Gropius Bau is empty and the final pickups follow. This is a work in progress and readers are invited and welcome to contribute. Presales have returned in reaction to the reduced number of finished films on offer over the past two markets. Presales applies across the board from Us to French and even Italian films. English language films are increasingly coming out of the major non English language territories but local product is impacting sales on Us films internationally. Business was quickly wrapped up but it was done with a healthy number of buys reported. Lower prices have become accepted but the market must have product as this event proved.
