Nicholas Cole(IX)
Nicholas Cole was born in Chicago,Illinois. He is the Son of Alan Cole, who is a Singer,Pianist and Songwriter. His Dad is a very well known musician through-out the downtown Chicago area. Nicholas comes from a long blood line of Great Musicians. His Grandfather Rudolph Balog was a first chair Violinist for the Cleveland Philharmonic and was the first Hungarian American Lead Violinist to be invited and Showcased in "A Night in Budapest" in Hungary to perform to Europe's most elite politicians and Movie Stars.
Nicholas started his musical journey at the early age of just 5 yrs old. He started Suzuki lessons at DePaul University in Chicago. As Nicholas continued his Classical Piano and Vocal training,his Dad got the Call to Be Buddy Greco's Piano Player At The Desert Inn Hotel and Casino.The family moved to Las Vegas. Nicholas went on to audition for Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts and this was his transition into Jazz and Musical Theater. Nicholas Attended LVA for 3 yrs until his Dad got another great call to move to south Florida to play at The Fountain Blue hotel in Miami,Fl. Nicholas continued his musical and theater studies at J.P Taravella High school where they resided in Coral Springs, Fl. His Theatre Teacher Lori Slade and Mark Humphreys were very much responsible for taking Nicks Talent to the next level. Nicholas graduated from J.P Taravella and went on to further his Jazz and Vocal studies at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, under the Direction of Duffy Jackson. Freddy Montilla ,one of south Florida's most successful entertainment managers found Nicholas performing at the age of 19 yrs old and offered him to Perform on Disneys Cruise Line "The Magic" and "The Wonder" in the Cadillac Lounge. Nicholas finished his term for Disney, came home and started performing at Runyons in Coral Spring,Fl where he has tremendous support from his life long teachers/colleagues and fans who still support him today !
Nicholas,then got a call from Jackie Baskow here in Las Vegas asking him to come to Las Vegas to open and perform at The Ritz Carlton at Lake Las Vegas. It was at that time that Steve Beyer discovered Nicholas Performing and offered him Full-Time Residency performing 5 nights a week at The Galleria Lounge at Caesars Palace with his band from 2002-2009. During this time Nicholas was also a contestant on American Idol season 4 with winner Carrie Underwood auditioning his way down to the top 30's. After his Contract ended at Caesars Palace, Nicholas teamed up with his Father in-law who is a renowned Drummer and was asked to be the House band at The legendary "Puttin on The Ritz" Restaurant in Newport Beach,CA where some of the most elite stars and politicians hang out regularly. While living and performing in California, Nicholas had the privilege to play for some of Hollywoods most elite Stars. He performed at Frank Sinatra's home in Palm Springs over a dozen times, Bob Hope, Nicholas Cage, John Wayne, Francis Ford Coppola and Many More ! Also Performing at Mastros in Beverly Hills. In 2014 "The Legendary "Puttin on The Ritz" closed its doors not before Buddy Valastro "The Cake Boss" asked Nicholas and his Father in-law if they would come back to Las Vegas and open up his new restaurant where we would perform in The Lounge. Nicholas has been performing at Buddy Vs in Which Buddy V himself has said quote "Nicholas Cole Built Buddy Vs Up And we would not be here without him".
It was During Covid 19 that Nicholas took a break from Buddy Vs because of Shut-Downs ,and is when dear friend and tremendous singer Mark Giovi called Nicholas to play piano for him at The Legendary Italian American Club. Mark Giovi asked Nick to sing a few songs and that is when he saw Benny Spano come running into The Ballroom and asked Nicholas, Quote, "Where the Hell did you come from?" !!! Nicholas had been performing at Buddy Vs for the past 9 yrs and always wanted to perform at The Italian American Club where some of the greatest Entertainers had performed like Frank, Dean and Sammy. Nicholas Cole is currently performing his residency at The Italian American Club Wednesday through Sunday and does not plan to go anywhere else anytime soon as Nicholas is living out his Dream Gig performing at IAC.
