Since their formation, The Pretty Reckless has continuously been on my radar. As a proud fan of “Gossip Girl”, I took note of frontwoman, Taylor Momsen, the moment I heard the outfit’s debut single, “Make Me Wanna Die” on the late CW television show. Reviving grunge with her unpolished vocals, Momsen is fully shed of her Jenny Humphrey image. Yes, there are some who say her Courtney Love style is a bit premature for a 19 year old, but Momsen “owns” her dominatrix look and manages to exude an admired confidence through all that leather. Rounded out by Ben Phillips (guitar), Jamie Perkins (drums) and Mark Damon (bass), The Pretty [ Read More ]

Taylor Momsen set her dog's testicles on fire? That's what her Pretty Reckless bandmates say.
Guitarist Ben Phillips tells MTV that the "Gossip Girl" actress sometimes goes "too far" with her fire-setting tendencies: "Taylor loves setting things on fire, so this is great. Taylor thinks we're some rock 'n' roll bad***es."
"In the studio, there was this pit where the owner would burn stuff. We'd burn old keyboards, computers, stuff them full of TNT and set them on fire. Taylor loves fire."
He adds: "I shouldn't say this. One morning, Taylor got into the studio really early -- she'd just had her dog neutered and brought in the bits. Which she then burned. We were grossed out."
At least it was after he'd been neutered and the testicles were actually separated from his body. She would have been hearing from PETA right about now.

The former Gossip Girl gone bad isn’t hiding her love of fire and grossed out her band mates by burning her dogs neutered nuts. Nasty!
We gagged a little when we heard Taylor Momsen, our favorite trainwreck we love to hate, actually burned her dog’s neutered balls at the studio where she was recording.
The Pretty Reckless singer may only be 17 but, has made headlines for her surly sailor mouth, crack head make-up and clothes suited for a streetwalker as she tries to prove she’s a legit rock girl. Now, in a recent interview with Heat magazine, Reckless guitarist Ben Phillips spilled on Taylor’s obsession with fire and pyro habits.
“Taylor loves setting things on fire,” he said. “Taylor thinks we’re some rock ‘n’ roll bad asses. In the studio, there was this pit where the owner would burn stuff. We’d burn old keyboards,...

HollywoodNews.com: “Gossip Girl’s” Taylor Momsen is taking a break from her hit show to gear up for her stint on this summer’s Warped Tour with her band “The Pretty Reckless.”
The band has just released four songs, which give fans a preview of what’s to come on their forthcoming full-length album, Light Me Up — an unflinchingly honest chronicle of Momsen’s experiences, filtered through her unique point of view. The songs, all written by Momsen and Ben Phillips with their producer Kato Khandwala, run the gamut of emotions, alternating at times between seething rage and a bruised vulnerability.
The songs tackle everything from romantic insecurity (the full-throttle rager “Make Me Wanna Die,” which also appears on the soundtrack to the film Kick-Ass), to despair (“You”), to how working non-stop can you make you feel like one of the un-dead (“Zombie”). Momsen pushes back against the haters...
