The New Look sheds a different light on a dark moment in history.
Set under the Nazi occupation of Paris during WWII, the series tells the story of Christian Dior’s rise to prominence, as he was pivotal in launching modern fashion despite navigating the horrors of the war. Of course, this story couldn’t be told without Coco Chanel who was one of the reigning fashion designers at the time.
During Monday’s Apple TV+ Television Critics Association panel, series creator Todd Kessler mused about Chanel’s lasting legacy, which has managed to largely escape mass criticism despite her clear ties to the Nazi occupation. Throughout World War II, Chanel operated as an intelligence operative for the Nazis and was in a romantic relationship with a high-ranking German officer.
“I can’t say why it’s not on specific people’s radars,” Kessler said of Chanel’s past. “But...

Prime Video series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” has unveiled first look images.
The series is a reimagining of the 2005 film starring Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie as Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith, respectively. In this iteration, Donald Glover (“The Martian”) stars as John Smith, while Maya Erskine (“PEN15”) stars as Jane Smith.
This new version features John and Jane both landing jobs working for an international spy agency where they must pose as spouses Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith. As they navigate a new mission each week, they find themselves falling in love with one another, complicating — and compromising — their “strictly business” relationship. Notably, this version features an intentional sham marriage between two strangers, as compared to the 2005 original, in which Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith were married without being aware of each other’s identity as an assassin.
Glover serves as co-creator and executive producer, along with Francesca Sloane...

The original creators of Peppa Pig are stepping back from the global children’s hit after Entertainment One greenlit a further 104 episodes.
Animation studio Astley Baker Davies (Abd) will handover the show to UK outfit Karrot (Sarah & Duck), which will produce new episodes that will be broadcast around the world into 2027. Peppa Pig’s style, music, and voice talent will remain unchanged.
Animators from Abd will move over to Karrot as part of the change, including head writer Phill Hall, who has worked on the show since 2007. Neville Astley, Mark Baker, and Phil Davies will no longer be involved, however, after they launched the series in 2004.
Asked why they are stepping back, Abd said: “We decided that now is time for us to give ourselves the space to work on other projects without the day-to-day of producing Peppa.”
Peppa Pig is broadcast in more than 180 territories and in 40 different languages.
