Straight on the heels of their preview panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, Smallville creators Brian Peterson and Kelly Soulders dished out more details to IGN at the Television Critics' Association press tour about the upcoming tenth season, set to premiere on Friday, September 24th.
As previously reported, Braniac (James Marsters) will indeed return for an upcoming episode, having been last seen taken away by members of the 31st century Legion of Superheroes to be repurposed as "Braniac 5."
Fans of the DC Universe know Braniac 5 as a futuristic descendant of the original Braniac, far more friendly and heroic than his predecessor. Peterson and Soulders confirmed that Marsters would indeed return as Braniac 5, but were unwilling to confirm whether the character would definitively be a force for good, citing that "[he's] a very, very mysterious man, which makes him fun to write."
Check out what else they were willing to tell:
Lex Luthor could indeed return,...
