A lawsuit filed against Hancock director Peter Berg alleging he played a part in the death of a golf cart driver has been dropped.
Berg was a passenger in a sport utility vehicle - which his assistant was driving - when the car struck the cart driven by 25-year-old Nick Papac in Arizona in August 2006.
The director was riding on a highway closed for filming his movie The Kingdom, where Papac worked as an assistant propmaster.
Papac's parents filed suit against the moviemaker and his sidekick, Francis Keao, for burial expenses, lost earnings and medical expenses in Los Angeles on 06 August.
Records show Papac's parents moved for dismissal last week (beg15Dec08), according to the Associated Press, but do not indicate whether there was a settlement.
A lawyer for Berg and other defendants said he could not comment.
