HONG KONG -- The 10th Hong Kong International Film and Television Market (Filmart) ended on a buoyant note Thursday, with attendees saying the confab was a vibrant center for kicking off deal talks. While exhibitors reported packed schedules, not that many major deals were announced at the market. "A lot of negotiations have been started here but we're more likely to conclude the deals in Cannes," Universe Films chief operating officer Alvin Lam said. Raymond Yip, assistant executive director of Filmart organizer the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, said the market benefited from the American Film Market's shift to November.
