This month, Helen Woodward Animal Center will once again unite with animal welfare proponents and organizations worldwide for the 5th Annual Remember Me Thursday.
Honored on the fourth Thursday of September, the campaign asks pet lovers and animal rescue groups to create an unstoppable, integrated voice advocating for homeless pets to live in forever homes, not die waiting for them. Grassroots candle-lighting ceremonies and a global avalanche of social media buzz will shine a light on the millions of animals still awaiting adoption and encourage communities to opt to adopt and reduce the millions of homeless pets euthanized each year. As in previous years, some very big names are stepping forward to lend their support to the cause, including Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress, Kristin Chenoweth, who has been named the 2017 Official Spokesperson for the campaign. Helen Woodward Animal Center encourages the world to join with these philanthropic celebrities and...

Hitting movie theaters this weekend:
Country Strong – Garrett Hedlund, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leighton Meester
Season of the Witch – Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Claire Foy
Movie of the Week
Country Strong
The Stars: Garrett Hedlund, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leighton Meester
The Plot: A rising young singer-songwriter (Hedlund) unites with a fallen country singer (Paltrow), and together they mount his ascent and her comeback.
The Buzz: When I first saw this trailer, I sighed and thought, “here come the Crazy Heart clones.” But after learning a bit more about this film, my interest in it has grown. For many, Gwyneth Paltrow will be the main attraction, but for me, Garrett Hedlund is the film’s main draw — I’ve been a big fan of his ever since Tron:Legacy hit (way back two weeks ago). Hedlund is cast appropriately here as a rising star, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can pull off the whole singing bit.

Filming is under way in the UK on Matthew Vaughn's mutant prequel X-Men: First Class, which explores the backstory of Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and the rift that turned them into archenemies.
The mutant roll call includes Caleb Landry Jones (pictured) as Sean Cassidy, whose sonic scream earns him the codename Banshee.
Jones, 20, is now on screen in The Last Exorcism, where he plays the creepy brother of Ashley Bell's demonic possession victim.
Daniel Stamm, director of the horror flick, made reference to Caleb's X-Men role in an interview with MTV.
He revealed: "He was a real find, because I wanted the character to be slightly off, but where you couldn't really pinpoint what's off about him. There's some weirdness about him, and his doesn't have that in real life at all. He's the smartest guy.
"He's going to be great in X-Men.
