The recent success of Zendaya’s Challengers has proven people’s interest in the theme of love triangles doesn’t need to be rekindled.
The movies, which explore the romances involving three different personalities, tend to attract the audience with their intricate love lines and unexpected twists, with the final one intended to break the triangle.
Here are 5 of the most remarkable love triangle films, which are available for streaming online.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008)
Where to watch: Prime, Apple TV+
First comes Woody Allen’s feature, which is very reminiscent of Challengers due to its similar vibe of the youth’s passion and heated romance. The plot centers on Scarlett Johansson’s Cristina, meeting in Barcelona the handsome artist Juan Antonio, who shares her attraction to him, though being still enamored of his ex-wife María Elena.

When Ncuti Gatwa makes his first appearance as the 15th Doctor in the science-fiction series “Doctor Who,” he isn’t wearing any pants.
In a 60th-anniversary special released in December, the previous Doctor — played by series icon David Tennant — subverts the show’s long-standing practice of regeneration: Instead of simply transforming into the next Doctor, he literally splits in half, bringing Gatwa’s Doctor into the world alongside him. In the process, the two divide the clothes of Tennant’s Doctor between them, leaving Gatwa in nothing but a dress shirt and a pair of tighty-whities.
“Oh, my God, that first costume fitting!” Gatwa says, bursting into an infectious fit of laughter. It’s a frequent occurrence as he speaks with Variety on a chilly March day over lemon ginger tea at the Langham hotel in London. “I was like, ‘Are you joking?!’ They showed me a pair of [underwear] and...

David Leitch wants to direct Aaron Taylor-Johnson in a James Bond movie. The 48-year-old filmmaker has worked with the actor – who has been widely tipped to succeed Daniel Craig as 007 – on the new movie 'The Fall Guy' and has declared his ambition to collaborate with him on a picture in the famous spy franchise.David told CinemaBlend.com: "He would be an amazing James Bond. I'll just go on the record like, I've never gotten to do enough action with Aaron, which is crazy."We've done 'Bullet Train' and now, we've done 'The Fall Guy'. What I really want to do is an action movie with him, because he's such an incredible athlete. Like Aaron is awesome."So, maybe we'll get that opportunity soon, and I'll get to direct Bond."It was reported last month that Eon Productions – the company behind the franchise – had...

In what will surely come as a huge shock to the general public and cause no small number of monocles to pop out, Amazon MGM Studios has elected to retitle Zoë Kravitz's feature directing debut, which was previously going under the not-at-all provocative moniker "Pussy Island." Kravitz's film will instead be released as "Blink Twice," which for me conjures memories of David Tennant's 10th Doctor desperately warning Carey Mulligan not to blink around the Weeping Angels in the classic modern "Doctor Who" episode "Blink."
That association isn't entirely inappropriate, either. "Blink Twice," like "Blink," is a potpourri of horror, mystery-thriller, and humor with an English actor at its core. In this case, it's Naomi Ackie of "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," "Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody," and "Master of None" season 3 fame starring as a young woman who accompanies a tech billionaire -- played by Kravitz's current real-life significant other,...

In Luca Guadagnino’s latest cinematic endeavor, “Challengers,” Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist form a dynamic, throuple-esque trio, each delivering performances that scream Oscar-worthy. The real question is, will Academy voters look beyond the palpable sexual chemistry to acknowledge the film’s artistic merit? That’s a challenge for the marketing maestros.
Penned by newcomer Justin Kuritzkes, the spouse of “Past Lives” writer-director Celine Song, “Challengers” weaves through a 13-year narrative, chronicling the life of Tashi Duncan (Zendaya), a tennis wunderkind-turned-coach, who hatches a plan for her husband Art’s (Faist) comeback. The plan pits him against his ex-buddy and Tashi’s former flame, Patrick (O’Connor), setting the stage for a dramatic unraveling.

Chernobyl director Johan Renck and production partner Michael Parets will adapt Andrew O’Hagan’s new epic British novel Caledonian Road for TV.
Recently published by Faber to rave reviews, Caledonian Road is a Dickensian tale of the rise and fall of Campbell Flynn, an art historian and celebrity intellectual, told against the backdrop of modern-day Britain and the deep-set corruption at the heart of the ruling class. O’Hagan is a three-time Booker Prize nominee (for Our Fathers, Be Near Me and The Illuminations). His last novel, Mayflies, was adapted as a drama series by BBC in 2022 starring Martin Compston, Tony Curran and Ashley Jensen.

Focus Features has acquired worldwide rights to Carey Mulligan comedy “The Ballad of Wallis Island,” Variety can confirm exclusively.
They will release the film in the U.S. while Universal Pictures International is handling global distribution.
The film, which was previously titled “One For The Money,” is directed by James Griffiths (“Cuban Fury”) and produced by Steve Coogan’s Baby Cow productions (“Philomena”).
The screenplay was written by Tom Basden (“After Life”) and Tim Key (“Great Expectations”), who also star in the film alongside Sian Clifford (“Fleabag”) and Akemnji Ndifornyen (“Famalam”).
“The Ballad of Wallis Island” tells the story of Charles (played by Key), an eccentric lottery winner who tries to reunite his favorite musical duo Mortimer-McGwyer (Mulligan and Basden) despite the fact they split up many years ago. Making things even more awkward, the musicians – Nell Mortimer and Herb McGwyer — were also once romantically involved with each other a la Sonny and Cher.

Dn last spoke with Colby Day when we premiered his one-shot short Lead/Follow back in early 2023. Day’s movement-led film caught our eye with its brisk yet all-encompassing depiction of the different stages of a romantic relationship. It’s a really special film and it left us eagerly anticipating what Day would make next. Then earlier this year it was announced that Day’s next project, this time as a screenwriter, would be playing Berlinale before premiering on Netflix shortly after. The project in question was Spaceman, an Adam Sandler and Carey Mulligan-starring science fiction drama directed by Johan Renck about an astronaut deep in the throes of space where he encounters a strange alien spider (voiced by Paul Dano) who helps him reflect on his failings as a husband. Similarly to Lead/Follow, Spaceman is an impressively expansive film that at its heart is about the trials...

Not long ago, former James Bond actor George Lazenby, who has had the opportunity to star in a sole outing as the agent in the now-appreciated On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, threw his support behind the all-but-confirmed Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the role. Lazenby was reportedly saying to TMZ that Taylor-Johnson would be able to “handle the stunts and all the ladies who love a man in a tux.” However, he also thinks the reason for the delay in any kind of announcement is because “when he auditioned for the part back in the 1960s, he went through a bunch of different tests and auditions before he won the role.” Though, he still thinks Taylor-Johnson would make a great Bond “as long as they do the character justice.” His advice for the young lad would be “to be true to himself and reinvent the role to fit him.”

After 2021’s No Time to Die, Taylor-Johnson would succeed Daniel Craig. Brosnan began playing James Bond with 1995’s GoldenEye, followed by Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997, The World Is Not Enough in 1999 and Die Another Day in 2002.
The former 007 agent co-starred with Taylor-Johnson in 2009’s The Greatest, a film that Brosnan produced.

One of the world’s most beloved fashion figures announced Tuesday that he’s stepping down from his eponymous brand. Belgian designer Dries Van Noten, 65, made the announcement in a letter sent to friends of the label.
“In the early 80’s, as a young guy in Antwerp, my dream was to have a voice in fashion,” Van Noten wrote. “Through a journey that brought me to London, Paris … that dream has come true. Now I want to shift my focus to all the things I never had time for.” This means his exceptionally well-reviewed fall 2024 women’s collection, shown in Paris weeks ago, will be his last. His fall menswear show in June 2024 is his official finale.
The uniquely Dries look — dubbed “audacious everyday” by Wwd — combined Boho flowy fits with avant-garde prints. Singularly stylish Cate Blanchett donned Dries on the carpet many times. As did Maggie Gyllenhaal, including at the 2010 Oscars,...

When it comes to the modern version of "Doctor Who," Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat very much embody the idea that, as Harvey Dent famously argued in "The Dark Knight" (much to Christopher Nolan's confusion), "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." When Davies revived "Who" in the aughts, he brought along a skilled writing team that included Mark Gatiss and his future "Sherlock" and "Dracula" TV series co-creator Moffat. Together, the pair injected a refreshing dosage of horror in the "Who"-verse with their respective season 1 episodes, "The Uniquet Dead" and the two-parter "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" (the latter of which introduced queer icon Jack Harkness to the series).
So far so good, right?

This year, Gold Derby’s Oscar winners odds derived from the predictions of a record 11,034 users, constituting a 1.6% participation increase compared to 2023. Naturally, such a large group is prone to intense hive mentality, which can be a good or bad thing, often depending on the category. In this case, the crowd had a handle on most of the 23 races, but there were still quite a few that tripped them up, leading to our lowest rate of accuracy in five years.
By the end of the 96th Oscars, six of Gold Derby’s expected wins had failed to pan out, making for a final accuracy rate of 73.9%. Each subgroup whose predictions were used to calculate our combined odds – including 29 industry experts, 12 in-house editors, and thousands of regular users – collectively finished with the same percentage, although our editors stood alone in being right about Best Costume Design but wrong about Best Live Action Short.

Bradley Cooper’s stellar record of 12 Oscar nominations has cemented his status as one of Hollywood’s elite. But despite being constantly praised for his exceptional work, he is one of the most nominated people in Oscar history without having received a single victory.
Apparently, he is not able to capitalize on any of his three Oscar nominations this year for writing, producing, and acting in the Leonard Bernstein biopic, Maestro. This means he has now dropped close to a record-breaking twelve nominations over the course of his career. It appears that he has joined a Hollywood unlucky club, as his acting career has soured with an unfair zero Oscar wins despite 12 nominations.

2024 Oscar Snubs: Killers of the Flower Moon & Maestro ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
The 2024 Oscar saw Oppenheimer bag seven awards, including Best Director, Best Actor and Best Picture. Poor Things won four awards at the Academy this year. However, there were some big 2023 movies that either won just one or not even a single award. Like every year, we witnessed again how some movies, directors or actors’ work got completely unrecognised.
From Robert De Niro’s Killers of the Flower Moon to Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, many famous films were brutally ignored at the 2024 Oscar ceremony. We have listed several such movies that were nominated in different categories, but got snubbed by the Academy.
Major 2024 Oscar Snubs – Killers of The Flower Moon
The Martin Scorsese directorial received ten Oscar nominations this year – from Best Director to Best Supporting Actor (Robert De Niro). To everyone’s surprise, the film didn’t win a single award.

The awards season created a unique bond among Best Actress nominees Emma Stone and Lily Gladstone, but Stone’s win over Gladstone did not sit well with many fans. Stone won her second Oscar for her role as Bella Baxter in Poor Things. Lily Gladstone, who played the Osage woman, Molly Burkhart, in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon was expected by many to win the Oscar.

Lily Gladstone’s Oscar snub is also a loss to the Native American community, as she would have been the first Native woman to win the award. However, the competition was tight between Stone and Gladstone as they both won several other awards, beating each other, throughout this awards season.

This year’s Oscars race was especially the toughest for the Best Actress in a Leading Role category, among others. With some of the most exceptionally talented actresses nominated, including Emma Stone, Lily Gladstone, Sandra Hüller, Carey Mulligan, and Annette Bening, every single one of them deserved this honor.

But the Academy eventually ended up choosing Stone as the winner, and Gladstone was inevitably snubbed from what would have been her first-ever Academy Award for one of the best performances of her life in Killers of the Flower Moon. However, The Amazing Spider-Man actress made sure to acknowledge Gladstone even in a time like that.

The team behind Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe’s makeup and hair in Poor Things won Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the 2024 Oscars.

Nadia Stacey, Mark Coulier, and Josh Weston won the award on Sunday night instead of the team who did Bradley Cooper’s makeup for Maestro.
The 49-year-old’s film was expected to win, but perhaps the online controversy surrounding his use of a fake nose to portray Leonard Bernstein prevented it.
Jimmy Kimmel took aim at the A-list crowd at the 96th Academy Awards, so he took this opportunity to throw some shade at Cooper’s Oscar snub, too.

Bradley Cooper‘s film Maestro lost the Best Makeup award to Poor Things at the 2024 Oscars, surprising many after the controversy over the Hollywood star wearing a prosthetic nose to play Leonard Bernstein.

Searchlight Pictures picked up four big Oscar wins for “Poor Things” at the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 10. Most notably, Emma Stone won Best Actress after a nail-biting race with SAG Award winner Lily Gladstone (“Killers of the Flower Moon”). The other nominees were Annette Bening (“Nyad”), Sandra Hüller (“Anatomy of a Fall”) and Carey Mulligan (“Maestro”).
Hilary Swank became the first leading lady to take home the gold for Searchlight (then called Fox Searchlight Pictures) for “Boys Don’t Cry” in 2000. Next was Natalie Portman, who won for “Black Swan” in 2011. But over the last decade, the production company has established its dominance as one of the top film studios for female-driven Oscar powerhouses. Stone is the fifth Best Actress winner in seven years following Frances McDormand in 2018, Olivia Colman (“The Favourite”) in 2019, McDormand again for “Nomadland” in 2021 and Jessica Chastain (“The Eyes of Tammy Faye”) in 2022.

If you were concerned for Emma Stone and her broken dress following her appearance onstage at tonight’s Oscars to accept the prize for Best Actress, fear not.
“They sewed me back in,” shared the star of Poor Things, Searchlight’s adaptation of the novel by Alasdair Gray. “Right when I came back[stage], they sewed me back in, which was wonderful.”
Stone highlighted the issue with her dress while on stage, sharing that she believed she’d broken it while singing and dancing along to the performance of Barbie tune “I’m Just Ken” by her Oscar-nominated La La Land co-star, Ryan Gosling. Backstage, she affirmed this belief was genuine, adding, “I was so amazed by Ryan and what he was doing, and that number just blew my mind. I was right there, and I just was going for it, and things happen.”
Additionally, Stone spoke to the meaning her Poor Things character,...

It’s been a bustling, seemingly nonstop awards season, but Hollywood’s stars and stylists truly did save the best for last.
That’s the verdict from the red carpet at Oscars 2024, which served up a plethora of looks that were often dramatic, sometimes over-the-top and grand, and occasionally just simply dazzling. Among the night’s biggest fashion surprises: Margot Robbie eschewed her now-trademark pink in favor of a beautifully sculpted gown in deep brown by Versace — and it was America Ferrera who embraced Barbie’s signature color in a stunning pink chainmail dress, also by Versace.
Indeed, Robbie turned out to be prescient with her choice of color, as noir-hued gowns ruled the 2024 Oscars red carpet. Some were sleek and simple, like the Dolce & Gabbana gown worn by Jamie Lee Curtis, or they brought the drama, with Sandra Hüller’s Schiaparelli and Carey Mulligan’s ivory-accented black mermaid...
