Derek Hough has officially mamboed into marriage. The ballroom pro and “Dancing With the Stars” judge married his longtime dancer girlfriend, Hayley Erbert, on Saturday in Monterey County, California.
The couple tied the knot in front of 106 guests in a redwood forest in northern California, People reports.
“We’re in a redwood forest, but we got married right in front of is this mother tree that’s surrounded by all these smaller trees,” Erbert told People. “They drop all the seeds, and it plants kind of like an army of children to protect the mother. The symbolism of it was beautiful. We’re here, planting our seeds to grow our family.”
The wedding weekend began on Thursday in Carmel, California, at a cliffside estate. On Friday there was a garden rehearsal dinner with family and the wedding party. They made things official on Saturday with traditional and personal vows. Erbert...

Gleb Savchenko wanted to dance with Johnny Weir last season when the figure skater was cast in the 29th season of “Dancing with the Stars” last fall. That’s what the pro dancer told Mr. Warburton Magazine in a recent interview. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be. The conservative-leaning ABC reality competition series still has never had a same-sex couple compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy. And it’s long overdue.

“I can’t wait for this moment!” Savchenko said about the possibility of breaking new ground on “DWTS.” “Last season when Johnny Weir got on the show I was like, ‘Johnny, you have to be my partner,’ but they ended up not doing it. They’ve done it before in Australia with Courtney Act and in...

Derek Hough, brand new “Dancing With the Stars” judge and six-time winner of the show’s coveted Mirrorball trophy, has signed an overall deal with ABC Entertainment.
As part of the pact, Hough will host and develop specials and entertainment programming for the network.
“Coming home to ABC and being given the opportunity to develop projects for them that are as much on-brand for them as they are for me makes this even that more exciting for me,” Hough said.
“Derek is a creative force not just in the ballroom, but also every room he enters,” said Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment. “He has been part of our ABC family for many years; the energy and dedication he brings to every project is palpable. We value his partnership immensely and look forward to the exciting and imaginative projects to come.”

Derek Hough is returning to “Dancing With the Stars” — this time, however, he’ll be a judge.
The six-time Mirrorball champion dancer will take Len Goodman’s seat beside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli for the ABC dancing competition’s upcoming 29th season.
“In light of current circumstances, Len Goodman will be unable to judge this season live in the ballroom, though he will still be a part of the show in a different capacity sharing his ballroom expertise from the UK,” “Dancing With the Stars” said in a statement on Tuesday.
“This show has been and will always be incredibly special to me,” Hough said. “Coming back feels like coming home and I couldn’t be more excited to be back in the ballroom.”

Derek Hough is making his triumphant return to Dancing With the Stars. The former pro revealed the news on Good Morning America on Tuesday, Sept. 8. He came in second place with Shawn Johnson and Amy Purdy, and was eliminated in sixth place with Marilu Henner in his final season. With the women dropping like flies and the way scores are going on “Dancing with the Stars,” we could be in store for something that hasn’t happened since the first time it happened way back in Season 3: an all-male final three. Milo Manheim, Juan Pablo Di Pace and DeMarcus Ware are our current predicted finalists, with Manheim the odds-on favorite to win it all.
“Dancing” usually has a mix of female and male celebrity final threes with just three exceptions in 26 seasons. Season 3 was all dudes: winner Emmitt Smith, runner-up Mario Lopez and third-place finisher Joey Lawrence. Twice has the show had all-female final threes: Melissa Rycroft beat Shawn Johnson and Kelly Monaco in Season 15, and Meryl Davis triumphed over Amy Purdy and Candace Cameron Bure in Season 18.

Tinashe got the boot on Week 4 of “Dancing with the Stars” despite having the second highest score of the night. But, as of press time, she definitely is not in the top two when it comes to YouTube views. Numbers were down overall this week — compared to last week when six couples had more than 100,000 plays — since it was just trios and not a bunch of reach-for-the-Kleenex sob stories.
Again, some caveats:
1. Needless to say, not everyone who watches a contestant’s dance on YouTube is voting and vice versa.
2. Not every star or dance is created equal. Some people already come in with major notoriety and a fan base, which could boost views. Some pros have a bigger fan base than the stars they’re teaching. Some people accrue fans as the season progresses. Sometimes a performance is just flat-out amazing or a complete hot mess or meme-worthy that...

Viewers might still be in shock over Tinashe and Brandon Armstrong‘s “Dancing with the Stars” elimination on Monday, but the couple is taking it all in stride — and joking about it. “Obviously people didn’t vote! That’s what happened!” Armstrong told “Entertainment Tonight” with a laugh. “It’s Ok.”
Despite a strong trio tango with Season 18 runner-up Amy Purdy that scored a 26, the singer became the fourth person — and fourth woman — to get the boot this season. Tinashe isn’t too torn up over how things went down. “I feel like we did our best every week, so that’s what’s really important,” she said. “And we had fun. It happens.”

This week on “Dancing with the Stars” each couple performed a trio routine with a “DWTS” alum or a special celebrity guest. A new Mirror Ball front-runner may have emerged, as Disney star Milo Manheim along with her pro partner Witney Carson and trio partner Riker Lynch brought down the house with an electrifying salsa. The routine was just one point shy of a perfect score.
But as one star rose another was shockingly snuffed out: R&B star Tinashe and her partner Brandon Armstrong were unfairly booted despite topping the leaderboard in the first two weeks of the competition. With her out of the running, which of the remaining celebs will rise to the occasion and pose a serious threat to win the season?

I’d blame the electoral college, but this time it was the popular vote that was the problem. On “Dancing with the Stars” for Trios Night, R&B singer Tinashe and her pro partner Brandon Armstrong were joined by season 18 runner-up Amy Purdy for a tango (watch it above). As usual for Tinashe it was one of the highest scoring routines of the night. In fact, Tinashe had never finished lower than second place on the judges’ leaderboard. That’s what made it so shocking when she was eliminated at the end of the night in 10th place.
It all came down to her fan base, or the lack thereof. The recording artist has a few hits under her belt, but she wasn’t a household name before the season started. She was paired with Brandon Armstrong, a first-time pro dancer who hasn’t yet established a fan base of his own.

Going into week four of “Dancing with the Stars” season 27, there were 10 couples remaining. But it’s been a challenging month in the ballroom for all of the celebs, so this week they got a little extra help. Monday, October 15 was Trios Night, during which the celebs and their pro partners were each joined by a special guest. So was three a lucky number for the contestants, or was three a crowd? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
Those special guest dancers were mostly past “DWTS” contestants: Amy Purdy, Riker Lynch, Rashad Jennings, Lindsey Stirling, Melissa Rycroft, Joey Fatone and Nastia Liukin. The other three were a reality TV dance star (Maddie Ziegler), a “Bachelor in Paradise” alum (Jordan Kimball) and “Harry Potter” actress Scarlett Byrne. See the full list of trio partnerships here.

It takes three to tango on “Dancing with the Stars” — and to cha-cha, paso doble, salsa, Argentine tango and Charleston. Week 4 is Trio Week, but with a twist this time. While pros and troupe members have joined couples in the past, the show is bringing in former contestants, “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” contestant Maddie Ziegler (as previously announced), and two people who have absolutely nothing to do with the show whatsoever.
Scarlett Byrne, who played Pansy Parkinson in the “Harry Potter” films, will team with her former co-star Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe for their salsa, while “Bachelor in Paradise” star Jordan Kimball will hit the hardwood with Grocery Store Joe and Jenna Johnson for their salsa. Stay thirsty, ABC.
Former champs Melissa Rycroft and Rashad Jennings, and alums Nastia Liukin, Linsdsey Stirling, Riker Lynch, Joey Fatone and Amy Purdy are the past contestants who’ll take another step on the dance floor.

“Dancing with the Stars” ended another arduous two-night event with Las Vegas Night on Tuesday, October 2. And though Paralympic skiier Danelle Umstead performed a quickstep to “Luck Be a Lady,” it turned out that lady luck wasn’t on her side. The visually impaired athlete’s journey ended as she became the second celeb eliminated from the competition. So why didn’t America support her as much as past “DWTS” contestants with disabilities like past winner Nyle Dimarco (season 22), who was deaf, or finalists Amy Purdy (season 18) and Noah Galloway (season 20), who were both amputees?
It’s possible that Umstead’s disability was an even greater challenge than anyone else has faced on the show. If you can’t hear the music you can still learn steps you can see. And amputees are able to dance with the aid of prosthetics. But blindness makes it especially difficult to learn the ins and outs of choreography,...

“Dancing with the Stars” is making history in season 27 with contestant Danelle Umstead, a Paralympian skiier who will be the show’s first visually-impaired contestant. Will she be able to win the Mirror Ball Trophy? Before the competition gets underway on September 24, let’s consider her pros and cons.

Pros
Dancing is such a demanding skill that any kind of physical limitation seems like it would be a deal-breaker, but not so. Double-amputees Amy Purdy (season 18) and Noah Galloway (season 20) were both finalists. Little person Terra Jole (season 23) made the top five. And deaf model Nyle Dimarco (season 22) actually won the Mirror Ball Trophy.

ABC recently announced that the 27th season of the competitive-dancing reality show “Dancing with the Stars” is set to premiere on September 24. But which celebs will enter the ballroom? Below is a list of female candidates I think “DWTS” should consider inviting to compete for the next Mirror Ball Trophy. Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know who you’d like to see on the show.
Ciara
Grammy-winning singer Ciara is best known for her infectious hits like “1,2 Step,” “Promise” and “Goodies,” but she has yet to grace the ballroom. Her sensual and hard-hitting moves would make her an instant front-runner along the lines of past musician contestants like Mya (season 9 runner-up), Nicole Scherzinger (season 10 Champion), Brandy (season 11) and Normani Kordei (season 24 finalist). Note to the casting directors: watch her “In My Feelings” dance challenge video and go ahead and give her a call.

Tonya Harding would probably tell you herself she’s the underdog in the “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” final three. No one, not even she, thought she’d get this far. Our odds have her finishing in third, behind Josh Norman and frontrunner Adam Rippon, which would be a very good and respectable placement for someone many thought would and wanted to get the boot in the first episode. But could she actually go even further and claim the Mirrorball trophy? “Dancing” history shows that, more often than not, the final two tends to be a his-and-her battle.

“Dancing with the Stars” has had nine athlete runners-up and will add a 10th after this all-athletes season. Of those first nine, 34 percent of our readers voted in a recent poll that Shawn Johnson should’ve definitely won Season 15 with Derek Hough.
Johnson and Hough came in second to Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani on the all-stars season. The Olympic gymnast won Season 8 with Mark Ballas and was seeking to becoming the first celebrity to win two Mirroball trophies. Both couples received high marks throughout the season, but perhaps Johnson’s previous win (as well as Hough’s three wins) hurt them in the fan votes.
Twenty-five percent of our readers feel that James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess were robbed of a win on Season 23. The IndyCar driver lost to Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, who dominated the season.

Jamie Anderson can spin to win in the air, but can she spin to win on the parquet? The two-time Olympic champion is aiming to become the first snowboarder to win “Dancing with the Stars” and will have her work cut out for her against nine other athletes in a shortened four-week season. Let’s break down her pros and cons.
Pros:
Snowboarders may be covered in the baggiest clothes on the slopes and in the halfpipe, but they have some of the sickest and most athletic bods of any athlete. You need tremendous core body strength to be able to launch yourself in the air and get enough height to contort your body to pull off a double cork 1080. Fitness, strength and body awareness shouldn’t be an issue for Anderson, who’s the ripe ol’ age of 27.

Seven sports are represented by the 10 athletes on “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” including some of the show’s staples. But which sport’s athletes have done the best on the show? You can probably guess. Let’s look at these seven sports’ “Dancing” histories.
Football (Josh Norman)
As everyone knows, football is by far “Dancing”’s favorite sport. They don’t even try to hide it. Nineteen football players have hoofed it before this season, and while they haven’t all made it to the business end of their respective seasons, football has produced four winners, three runner-ups and two third-place finishers. So, no pressure, Josh, to follow in these pigskin players’ footsteps.

The “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” cast is finally out — and we have thoughts. We’ve got six Olympians on deck — including three figure skaters — two basketball players, a baseball player and your requisite football player. It’s anyone’s game (pun intended) — or is it? Some of these folks have some obvious and not-so-obvious advantages over the others and in a shortened four-week season, that could mean a lot. So before anyone takes their first dance, let’s take a closer look at the cast.

The breakout star of the Pyeongchang Olympics, Rippon has wit and personality for days, and will be soundbite gold for producers. Unlike his quad-happy rivals on the ice, the figure skater favors artistry over jumps (he didn’t do a single quad at the...

‘Dancing with the Stars’ has seen 10 athletes lift the Mirrorball trophy and almost nearly as many athletes came thisclose to getting their hands on it. Nine athletes have finished in second place on the show — some of them even losing to fellow athletes. Some of these losses were expected, some were close calls, but which of these runners-up deserved the win the most?
Jerry Rice was the first athlete runner-up. The three-time Super Bowl champ and Anna Trebunskaya lost to Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke in Season 2. Rice and Trebunskaya had the third lowest score of the final three on finale night, but beat third-place finishers Stacy Keibler and Tony Dovolani with fan votes added in.

It’s that time of the year again: when “Dancing with the Stars” contestants start to leak before the cast is announced. The first three wannabe hoofers joining the all-athletes season are Olympians Tonya Harding, Adam Rippon and Jamie Anderson, according to Us Weekly.
Harding’s casting is a classic “Dancing” move that checks a lot of boxes: She’s a controversial figure (skater) who was recently thrust back into the spotlight with an Oscar-winning major motion picture, “I, Tonya,” that attempted to engender some sympathy and tell her side of the story in the infamous 1994 attack on Nancy Kerrigan. And “Dancing with the Stars” is nothing if not about redemption. Speaking of Kerrigan, she competed on Season 24, finishing seventh, and that competitive narrative is a thread “Dancing” wants to pull. “Tonya Harding never won an Olympic medal, but could she surpass the woman whose attack she may or may...

It’s no surprise “Dancing with the Stars” is trying its hand at an all-athletes season, premiering April 30. Athletes are one of the most successful class of contestants in the show’s history, producing 10 winners in 25 seasons. Of those 10, four were women. Which one of them was your favorite?
All four champs also happen to be Olympians — a very fruitful subsect of athletes — and gold medalists at that in the marquee sports of the Summer and Winter Olympics. 1992 Olympic figure skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi was the first, taking home the Mirrorball trophy in Season 6 in 2008 with Mark Ballas. The pair dominated the season, topping the leaderboard 10 out of 12 times, and received four of the perfect 30s given out during the season.

The model and activist, 29, revealed in December that she would likely need to have her other leg removed as she continued to deal with severe pain as a result of toxic shock syndrome.

Amy Schumer and I are together sitting on a couch in a dimly lit bungalow at the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica. I've had two mimosas, because who says no when someone offers you a mimosa, and then offers you another mimosa? Amy is wearing what her publicist refers to as "comfies," which I quickly understand to mean she's decked out in a soft navy blue tracksuit. Despite her laid-back look, she still has fresh hair and makeup from all the on-camera interviews for Snatched, her new mother-daughter comedy with Goldie Hawn. You might be tempted to think Amy Schumer is tired of talking about her body, but it seems like she's only just begun to make it a greater conversation. The topic is so prevalent in her life that she brings it up in her new Netflix stand-up Amy Schumer: the Leather Special, which dropped in March: "I tweeted...
