The hallmark of K-pop has always been the ability of its artists to creatively bridge cultures and genres — from G-Dragon’s frenetic Edm-meets-Southern-rap track “Crayon,” to 2NE1’s “I Am the Best,” the girl group’s signature song that gloriously weaved a Middle Eastern synth line in the middle of a glossy electro-pop track.
This week, the K-pop group Nct dropped “90’s Love,” an ode to Nineties hip-hop and R&b that sees the boy band tackling old school beats and Boyz II Men-style cooleyhighharmonies, sprinkled in with elements of dubstep and pop.

“It was my Star Is Born moment,” Legends of Tomorrow‘s Jes Macallan says of her very memorable and hilarious musical turn in last Tuesday’s episode.
First, viewers were treated to a glamorous scene of what Ava thought she sounded like singing Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison.” That fantasy was followed by the reality of Ava’s drunken performance in front of fleeing club-goers. But for Macallan, the entire experience was “like my heaven. I was like, ‘This is where I belong!'” the actress recalls with a laugh, gesturing grandly. “I am not a triple threat; I’m a double threat.

Cramming the plot of Ghostbusters 2 into a four-minute pop song is no easy task, but Bobby Brown handled it with tremendous skill on his New Jack Swing masterpiece “On Our Own,” which peaked at Number Two on the Hot 100 30 years ago this week. “Found about Vigo, the master of evil,” he sang, referencing an evil 16th-century spirit trapped inside a painting in the movie. “Try to battle my boys? That’s not legal!”
The movie landed in theaters during one of the busiest summers in the history of Hollywood up to that point.

New Kids On the Block offer a crash course in boy band history in the video for their new song, “Boys In The Band (Boy Band Anthem).”
The clip is set in a high school classroom, where the teacher – cheekily played by ‘NSync’s Lance Bass – introduces the New Kids as guest speakers. As the song kicks in, the group starts the performance as gray-haired geriatrics, but soon their traipsing through four decades of boy band history with the help of some swift costume changes.

We are almost 100% sure about the real identities of four of the five celebrities competing on “The Masked Singer” semi-final on February 20. The one that still has us guessing is the Rabbit. We have him narrowed down to two of the members of a chart-topping boy band. One of them was our first guess, but he says that this isn’t him. But can we believe his n0n-denial denial? Spoilers ahead.
The Rabbit is Joey Fatone, from the group Nsync. He says this isn’t so. If he is telling the whole truth, it must be Joey’s one-time bandmate, Jc Chasez. Don’t get fooled by Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong who think that the Rabbit is not a professional singer. Remember the Rabbit readily admitted, “I’ve spent most of my life on stage, but I was never alone.” As he explained “synchronized singing was my forte.

We can’t make up our minds about just who is hiding inside that Rabbit costume on “The Masked Singer.” He has rocked the crowd with four very different songs so far: “Livin’ la Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin, “Wake Me Up” by Avicii, “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe and “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder. The Rabbit has readily admitted, “I’ve spent most of my life on stage, but I was never alone” and “synchronized singing was my forte.”
With that in mind, we have narrowed the hunt for the Rabbit down to two men who came to fame as part of a boy band. After you read our case for each of these, cast your vote in our poll as to which one you think it is. Spoilers ahead.

Of the six singers to perform on the quarter-final of “The Masked Singer” on February 13, the one whose real identity we are still not 100% sure of is the Rabbit. We thought we had a line on him after his first couple of performances but we were thrown a curve ball when the famous fellow we had pegged as the Rabbit said it wasn’t him. Since then, we’ve been reviewing his appearances on the show as well as the clues videos. And we revisited that star’s denial and realized he left a little wiggle room in his wording. Spoilers ahead.

Yes, Donnie Wahlberg knows you think he might be the Rabbit on “The Masked Singer,” and no, he cannot say if he is (duh).
During a panel promoting his new Hln show “Very Scary People” at the Television Critics Association press tour on Monday, the actor and New Kids on the Block member addressed the speculation that he might be the bunny who crooned Ricky Martin‘s “Livin’ la Vida Loca,” Avicii and Aloe Blacc‘s “Wake Me Up” and Bell Biv DeVoe‘s “Poison” on the Fox hit.
“Can’t answer that,” Wahlberg said. “I can only tell you that there’s a list of boy banders who are alleged … to be the Rabbit and I’m on the list. I think I’m trending third now behind Joey Fatone and Joey McIntyre.”

After Rabbit’s latest performance on Episode 5 of “The Masked Singer,” judge Nicole Scherzinger raved, “You were bustin’ out all the old moves. It was so fly. You’re probably my favorite performer out of everyone on the entire show.” Rabbit decided to throw in some R&B in Wednesday’s episode to mess with the judges, choosing Bell Biv DeVoe‘s “Poison.” His plan apparently worked, as Nicole, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Robin Thicke had trouble guessing who was behind the Rabbit mask. Watch “The Masked Singer” performance video above.
