- He got his start in the business in 1924 when he joined the Roncalli Apollo Variety show in Duesseldorf, Germany. He performed around the world; but every April throughout his life, he returned to Duesseldorf to perform with the Roncalli show for his birthday, and 2007 was no exception.
- At the time of his death, he was believed to be the world's oldest active trapeze artist. His show-business career lasted 83 years.
