His father is of half Italian and half Puerto Rican descent. His mother has Swedish, as well as Scottish, German, English, Irish, and distant Dutch, ancestry.
Father is Tony Taconne, who directed Sarah Jones in her one-woman show, "Bridge and Tunnel".
Directed three TV commercials for Pepsi in 2009. The commercials
featured the character Macgruber (renamed as "Pepsuber) from
Saturday Night Live (1975), where Taccone also directed the
MacGruber skits. The commercials were made by the show for Pepsi as ads
for the Super Bowl. But as Super Bowl Sunday approached, NBC didn't get
any feedback from Pepsi whether the Pepsuber spots would actually air during
breaks of the big sports event. NBC then feared the spots would never
make it to the public. They then decided to air the three spots during
the commercial breaks of the Saturday Night Live (1975)
broadcast the Saturday before the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Has a son, Wylie Red Heller Taccone (b. December 12, 2014), with his wife Marielle Heller.
Received a Grammy nomination (as member of The Lonely Island) for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for the song "I'm on a Boat" (feat. T-Pain) in 2010.
