The Voice UK auditionee Nathan Moore has opened up about his bankruptcy following the end of his band Brother Beyond in the 80s.
Moore - who appeared on this weekend's show but did not get through to the next round - told Digital Spy that the band were dropped from their label very suddenly.
"I'd just been on tour of American for three months," he said. "I got invited to dinner with Madonna, I met Warren Beatty, Sandra Bernhard. Then the week we came back our manager said, 'You've been dropped by Emi'. I had no money, I then got a massive tax bill, I got made bankrupt, I had nowhere to live, I had to borrow money off my Dad just to eat.
"So I'd gone from first class flying, hotels, everything, to getting on the bus. I was just stressed. Nothing prepares you for it. It was really...

Well, tonight's episode (February 7) of The Voice UK was very illuminating - and we're not just talking about Rita Ora learning all sorts of things from Sir Tom Jones, or will.i.am opening up about his lack of muscles. Nope - while all of that was very interesting, we also got to know which eight new acts have made it through to the blind auditions.
But who made the biggest impression? Who will we be excited to see again in the upcoming battle rounds? Read on as we assess the auditions from tonight's episode of The Voice...
1. Vikesh Champaneri
Song: 'Hometown Glory' - Adele
Team: Team Ricky (Sir Tom and Rita also turned)
Maybe it was just the song? Maybe - but we don't think so. Vikesh - a booker for posh taxis - took to the stage and completely blindsided us with his incredible take on 'Hometown Glory'.

Four years ago, if you'd have said, "One day, a woman famous for gate-crashing a White House dinner will marry the man who wrote 'Don't Stop Believin' - and on Pay-Per-View, no less" - we might have said you were crazy. But on Sunday, that was exactly what happened, when Michaele Salahi and Neal Schon tied the knot in San Francisco. Schon is the guitarist for Journey, a band whose music you have likely performed or seen performed at karaoke at some point in your life. Salahi is most famous for the aforementioned gatecrashing and her stint on Bravo's Real Housewives of D.

These past few months have been pretty superior for Spider-Man. For those of you who aren't up speed, writer Dan Slott has placed the mind of Doctor Otto Octavius—a.k.a. Doctor Octopus—into Peter Parker's body within the pages of Marvel's "Superior Spider-Man.". Now, as if that weren't exciting enough, Slott will be re-introducing a fan-favorite futuristic character: Miguel O'Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099.
Making his big comeback in issue #17 of "Superior Spider-Man," Miguel O'Hara had another brush with fame following "Spider-Man 2099's" cancellation way back in 1996. Following the end of Fox's successful—and long-running—"Spider-Man" cartoon, they looked to 2099 for inspiration.

Neill Blomkamp’s return behind the camera for Elysium really couldn’t be more anticipated.
On a par with only a handful of directors in recent years – think Gareth Edwards and Duncan Jones – he made a remarkable debut with District 9, and we’re naturally incredibly excited about his sophomore effort.
Sony have taken the film out to Comic-Con this weekend, ahead of its release next month. And now we’ve got two great new Mondo posters to share, created by Martin Ansin, which will be on sale in San Diego from Sunday (booth #936).
The regular edition is a run of 380, and will be sold for $50, whilst the variant is a run of 175, and sold for $75, with the regular edition also set to be made available online in the near future.

Top 10 Juliette Harrisson 2 May 2013 - 07:00
Now that Fringe has finally left the building, Juliette salutes its ten best episodes. See if your favourite made the cut...
For five years, Fringe kept us glued to our screens with alternate universes, alternate timelines, alternate futures and a weekly dose of stories it would be unwise to watch while eating a meal. Ultimately a show about family and the things we do, right or wrong, for the people we love, whether it was doing The X-Files with extra red vines, Sliders with more people getting chopped in half or Dark City with more countryside. These are ten of its finest hours.
10. An Origin Story (Season Five)
Season five tells one continuous story across its thirteen episodes, which means that, like other shorter and heavy serialised shows (Game of Thrones, True Blood, Spartacus) it’s harder to identify individual episodes that really stand out,...

Top 10 lists are tricky things. It can be absurdly hard to narrow down anything to a select group of ten. It’s like being asked to choose your favorite child and you just want to wail, “But I love all of them!” This is particularly true in television. Each year I commit to nearly 100 television shows that air throughout the twelve-month period. Thus, to pare down to the few that were truly outstanding, it can be exceptionally difficult. But there are always a deserving few who manage to do the impossible: sustaining a high caliber of performance and be equally captivating entertainment. As a caveat, there will always be better shows, but sometimes those shows just didn’t manage to be as consistently entertaining. Addictiveness plays a large part of what makes television shows successful. It is a quality that is rare and elusive and can be dependent upon the personal tastes of the viewer.
