Netflix is bringing a grand tale to life with Denzel Washington portraying Hannibal, the renowned Carthaginian warrior. This project marks a significant collaboration, reuniting Washington with director Antoine Fuqua. The pair previously worked together on the acclaimed 2001 film ‘Training Day,’ for which Washington bagged an Oscar. They’ve kept the partnership going, most recently with the third movie in the ‘Equalizer’ series.
The script for this Netflix epic is penned by John Logan, a three-time Oscar nominee known for ‘The Aviator,’ ‘Hugo,’ and the gripping ‘Gladiator.’ Logan’s expertise in crafting compelling historical dramas is a perfect match for Hannibal’s story. The production team includes heavy-hitters like Erik Olsen and Adam Goldworm, with Jeremy Lott and Frank Rodriguez Moll executive producing.
Hannibal’s saga is a fascinating one. He’s famous for his audacious trek over the Alps on an elephant to attack Rome, challenging the might of the Roman Republic.

Round up your war elephants, folks, because Denzel Washington is taking a page out of the history books for his next starring role. Currently set to restart production on Ridley Scott's "Gladiator" sequel, which was one of the many casualties of halting filming during the recently-concluded SAG-AFTRA strike, it would seem that the famous actor has caught the historical epic bug. And in a surprising twist, this next project will bring Washington full-circle to a movie he originally wanted to star in over two decades ago. Always trust the process, people!

Denzel Washington is on a current kick of ancient period pieces as the Academy Award-winning actor recently worked with Joel Coen on Apple’s The Tragedy of Macbeth and is about to pick up filming on the stalled Gladiator 2 film that will have to continue production after repairs are made to the deteriorating sets when it was shut down while the Screen Actors’ Guild went on strike. Deadline has now reported that Denzel will be donning extravagant period clothing yet again for a new Netflix film about the ancient Carthaginian general Hannibal.

Ray Donovan star Liev Schreiber is getting locked and loaded for a holiday-themed action movie from Gangs of London director Xavier Gens called The Guns of Christmas Past. Deadline says Schreiber is negotiating for the lead role in Gens’s genre mash-up, described as “A Christmas Carol meets John Wick.”
The story revolves around Ebb, a former hitman for the mob who emerges from the shadows when his best friend gets killed. Ebb plans to infiltrate the enemy’s compound to inflict revenge, but the past, present, and future ghosts haunt him throughout the night to ruin his plans. Gens directs from a script by Andrew Hilton, with Navid McIlhargey and Erik Olsen producing.
I’m sorry, what? This movie sounds wacky! It’s like something Frank Cross from Scrooged would air on Ibc Television on Christmas Eve. After 2022’s Violent Night, starring David Habour, outlandish Christmas movies are the new holiday hotness.

The new, eagerly awaited Motley Crue biopic, based on Neil Strauss’ best-selling 2001 book, “The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band,” premieres today on Netflix after a seemingly endless 13 years in development hell.
Those anticipating “a fun ‘80s music movie,” as Crue bassist Nikki Sixx puts it, will inevitably be stunned by the final product, a dark-laced cautionary tale that balances the thrill of making it as a rock god against the downside of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll excess. “The Dirt” takes the “A Star Is Born” theme of the perils of fame and convincingly sets it in the late ‘70’s/early ‘80s punk/metal milieu of Hollywood, complete with a recreation of the Crue’s legendary party house just up the block from the Whisky, where one of its memorable scenes takes place.

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for its Motley Crue biopic “The Dirt” — based on Neil Strauss’ best-selling history of the legendarily bad-behaved ‘80s metal icons — and it looks like the film pulls no punches in terms of the band’s famously sordid history.
In this two-minute trailer, we get glimpses of singer Vince Neil’s 1984 car wreck that killed Hanoi Rocks drummer Razzle (as well as the death from cancer of Neil’s 4-year-old daughter several years later), bassist/songwriter Nikki Sixx’s heroin addiction, guitarist Mick Mars’ age and degenerative bone disease, and Tommy Lee’s marriage to TV star Heather Locklear and all-around unhinged behavior.
Industry insiders will probably be tickled to see “SNL” star Pete Davidson as the band’s A&R man, Tom Zutaut.
While much of this territory has been covered in the VH1 “Behind the Music” on the group, judging by the trailer the...

If you thought the story of “Bohemian Rhapsody” was nuts, “The Dirt” and its look at the formation of Mötley Crüe will really rock you.
Mötley Crüe was one of the most notorious ’80s hair metal bands in the country, arguably known more for their antics offstage and their lavish, outrageous performances than their music. “The Dirt,” a new music biopic based on the salacious autobiography by the band and Neil Strauss, taps into that insanity.
“The fans? They’re dying for some anarchy. So let’s give it to them,” one of the bandmates says in the film.

Mötley Crüe is made up of Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Vince Neil. And they’re played by Iwan Rheon (“Game of Thrones”), Douglas Booth, Machine Gun Kelly and Daniel Webber, respectively. “The Dirt” also stars Pete Davidson and Leven Rambin.

Marvel fans are still reeling from the cancellation of Daredevil after three seasons. Maybe we were half-expecting it following the previous demises of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, but it still came as a massive blow when Netflix announced they wouldn’t be continuing the beloved superhero series for a fourth run. Even after season 3 was generally viewed as the best outing of any Marvel show on Netflix.
Now, Daredevil star Deborah Ann Woll has responded to the cancellation with a heartfelt message and thank you to everyone who made the series what it was. Along with posting promo shots from all three seasons of the show, Woll wrote that she was going to miss working alongside her friends and gave a shout-out to showrunner Erik Olsen for at least ending things on a high note.

Everyone loves a big team-up crossover. After years of building up to it, Netflix’s corner of the McU finally reached that with last August’s The Defenders. Of course, the only problem with a big crossover event is that, much like fans started questioning after The Avengers came together on the big screen, you start wondering why the hero can’t just call on their friends for help in their own solo series.
Take Daredevil season 3, for example. Matt Murdock’s at his lowest ebb as his nemesis Wilson Fisk has got himself out of jail while he’s still recuperating from his near-death experience at the end of The Defenders. So, why doesn’t he give the likes of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist – heck, even the Punisher – a ring for some much-needed assistance?
ComicBook.com put this tricky question to showrunner Erik Olsen and he revealed that,...

Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for Daredevil for Season 3 and this one highlights the return of Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin. As you’ll see he is putting on his classic white Kingpin suit, which is a first for the character in this series. It’s pretty excited! We also see Daredevil (Charlie Cox) standing over a fire burning his white shirt and classes. As you can see he’s going to embrace the darkness and the Devil inside of him as he faces off with Kingpin. When talking about Matt Murdock’s story arc, showrunner Erik Olsen said:
“Matt goes to pretty much the darkest place you can. When he realizes that he’s incapable of being Daredevil, he would rather just end it than go forward in his life without abilities. He’s decided to set aside his Matt Murdock persona and just be the Devil,...

I briefly attended Lincoln High in Brooklyn, New York, before being thrown out for being an uncontrollable student. Ah, youth... there was so much chaos! So much puberty! Still, if demons were roaming the school, I may have stuck around or at least blamed them for my shitty attitude.
According to The Tracking Board, Lbi Entertainment will be having an Exorcism at Lincoln High, which may or may not be the same Lincoln High that I attended... but it's a good bet that it will not be the Lincoln High from The Class of 1984.
Brian Sieve (Boogeyman 2, Boogeyman 3) is currently penning the spec screenplay about a high school student who is cursed by a demon and must be exorcised.
Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn, and Erik Olsen produce for Lbi.
