- Graduated from Illinois State University (2002) with a degree in Acting.
- Has a 1st degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, a Korean form of Karate.

- Interned at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago for one year. During his internship he acted in Tony Kushner's Homebody/Kabul directed by Frank Galati, and was the Assistant Director for Richard Greenberg's The Violet Hour directed by Terry Kinney.

- Born Raymond Benjamin Kurut. Raymond is the name of his maternal grandfather, Raymond Rogers. Benjamin is the name of his paternal grandfather, Benjamin Kurut.
- He was nominated for a 2005 Joseph Jefferson Award Citation for Actor in a Principal Role in a Play for "Cry Havoc" at the Bailiwick Repertory Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
