On the surface, it's not a surprise that some would consider Forever Christmas' Mr. 365 a little off for wanting to celebrate Christmas all-year-round.
But maybe Will was onto something and anticipated the dumpster fire that is 2020. Will wanted the Christmas cheer to carry over every day to make others happy, and if there's ever a year that we need plenty of that, it's this one.
And that's what made this film one of the best.
TV Fanatic spoke with writer Gary Goldstein about this movie adaptation of a Ruth Clampett book Lifetime acquired from PassionFlix, and luckily, the movie fits in with Lifetime perfectly.
In a way, the film was more grounded and not as traditionally cheesy as Lifetime's usual fare, and that's what made it so endearing.
Sophie and Will had the best chemistry, and my goodness, I rooted for them from beginning to end. Hobbs and Russell were electric together,...

Lifetime has snagged the rights to a movie based on a book by Ruth Clampett, titled Mr. 365.
As part of their It's a Wonderful Lifetime celebration, Forever Christmas airs on Sunday, October 25 at 8/7c.
My friend, Gary Goldstein, optioned Ruth's book for adaptation, and he jumped on the phone with me to chat about getting the word out for more people to check out his delightful, feel-good film.
Like most everybody else in the industry, Gary has seen some of his work shrivel up, but he's not necessarily complaining. He's had time to catch up on television, a pleasure that, with his busy schedule, isn't always an option.
Gary is also taking comfort in the fact that the business aspect of the TV movie business is back in action. "My work life is not so incredibly different. It's just the interaction part of it is different. Certainly in the film and TV world,...

Tis the season!
We're not even to Halloween yet, but you can toss it and Thanksgiving right out the window because Christmas is here! Fa la la la la la and all that. We're not even going to pretend that we think it's too early for Christmas. In 2020, I can think of nothing better than escaping for the holidays.
Oh yeah, and The Undoing premieres, This Is Us returns, The Mandalorian takes another swing at the Star Wars universe and a whole lot more!
Saturday, October 24
8/7c Jingle Bell Bride (Hallmark)
Julia Gonzalo stars in Jingle Bell Bride as a wedding planner named Jessica Perez, who travels to a remote town in Alaska.
She's searching for a rare flower for a celebrity client and is charmed by the small town during Christmas.
In addition to being charmed by the small town, she's also delighted with the handsome local helping her (Ronnie Rowe Jr.

Even though a lot of people like to pretend they don't pay attention to their more romantic sides by watching networks like Hallmark, Up, Lifetime and others, we know you can't ignore a story with a happy ending.
Gary Goldstein has been writing some pretty terrific movies of the genre while Ruth Clampett has made her name with books of a similar nature. One of her most appreciated works is Mr. 365, featuring the story of a man who lives Christmas year around and the woman who wants to put him on TV.
Goldstein optioned the book for a screenplay, and this season you can find it on PassionFlix. If you haven't heard of it, there is no time like Christmas to treat yourself to a free trial so you can see what it's all about. Hint: It turns up the heat a little!
I had the opportunity to ask both Mr.

Film Festivals
The Heartland International Film Festival has selected “The Terminator” and “The Walking Dead” producer Gale Anne Hurd for its lifetime achievement award.
Heartland Film Festival’s director of film programming Greg Sorvig, said, “Gale Anne Hurd has cemented her place in film history as a creator and guiding force behind some of the most iconic genre works in film and television history. You could start and end the list with ‘The Terminator,’ ‘Aliens,’ and ‘The Walking Dead,’ but the fact that there is so much more beyond those two unforgettable films and that groundbreaking television series, speaks to her lasting impact on our film culture.”
