Bianca Sams was born in the Bay Area in northern California. She attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she earned the distinction of being Tisch's first ever Triple Major : Acting, Dramatic Writing (Play and Screenwriting), and Africana Studies. While at NYU, she trained at the Lee Strasberg School of Film and Television in New York and later at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She is also a recipient of the prestigious T. S. Eliot Acting Fellowship. Bianca's journey as a writer includes being a member of Old Vic New Voice in New York City in partner with Old Vic London headed by Kevin Spacey. She earned her MFA in playwriting at Ohio University. She has studied with writers Richard Wesley, Charles Smith, Kara Lee Corthron, Erik Ramsey, Beth Turner, George Malko, John Guare, and Kenneth Lonergan. Following her graduate work, Bianca received a Playwrights Center Core apprenticeship, was named a Nashville Rep/Ingram New Works Lab Playwright-in-residence, and joined the Warner Brothers Writers Workshop. She is based in Los Angeles (2016).
Bianca is an avid "Eirephile" and lived in Ireland for 3 months.
Only known triple-major (Acting, Dramatic Writing, and Africana
Studies) to graduate from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. After her
graduation, the school made it nearly impossible for future students to
triple-major in anything.
