Rave Motion Pictures chief Thomas Stephenson will be honored at ShowEast 2010 with the Show E Award for career achievement in exhibition.
Stephenson will feted Oct. 14 during an awards gala set to close the annual exhibition confab. ShowEast opens Oct. 11 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.
"Throughout his career, Tom has achieved enormous success by being an early adopter of 3D technology and alternative content and parlaying that to make Rave Motion Pictures a leader in the world of exhibition," ShowEast managing director Robert Sunshine said.
Stephenson founded Rave in 1999. Based in Dallas, the company operates 61 theaters and 918 screens nationwide.
Stephenson is active in nonprofit and charitable institutions including Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation and Variety Club.
Recipients of the Show E Award include last year's recipient, Stewart Harnell of Cinema Concepts.

Stewart Harnell, CEO of the Atlanta-based digital production studio Cinema Concepts, will be honored with the 2009 Show 'E' Award at ShowEast.
Harnell will be feted during an awards gala set to close the confab on Oct. 29. ShowEast begins Oct. 26 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

Harnell began his career in 1961 as a booker-salesman with National Screen Service in Chicago. He was promoted to trailer production manager in New York before moving to operations in New Orleans and then Atlanta.
In 1970, Harnell founded Harnell Independent Prods. in Atlanta, where he produced and distributed independent features. He founded Cinema Concepts in 1979.
