American Idol fans have been less than impressed with some of the decisions the judges have made so far in Season 22. Choosing Kayko over Abby Blake to move into the Top 24 had fans heated. Then, when the judges decided to axe American Idol hopeful Ziggy Krassenberg, viewers were up in arms once again. Now, they think the judges were too critical of another fan favorite. Here’s what they are saying.
Julia Gagnon Landed A Platinum Ticket
Like many of the other contestants on American Idol, Julia Gagnon auditioned in Nashville. She sang “Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Franklin. After some consideration, the judges decided to give her a coveted Platinum Ticket, which allowed her to bypass Idol Arena.
She performed alongside the other two Platinum Ticket winners, Abi Carter and Odell Bunton Jr. during the Idol Arena episode. They sang a stunning rendition of “California Dreamin'” by the Mamas and the Papas.

In 2022 “American Idol” introduced fans to the Platinum Ticket, an upgraded form of the golden ticket that allows the season’s most promising contestants to skip the first round of Hollywood Week after giving a stellar audition. It may sound like judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie favor those contestants, but how big of an advantage is the Platinum Ticket?
In Season 20 the recipients were HunterGirl, Kenedi Anderson and Jay. In this case the judges forecast one finalist in HunterGirl, who went on to become the runner-up to Noah Thompson. After her Top 24 performance of “Human,” Kenedi withdrew from the competition for personal reasons. Later that season Jay finished in the Top 7, but was eliminated after well-received performances of “I Have Nothing” and “A Song for Mama.”

The 29-year-old British star Jacob Collier has risen to fame from YouTube all the way to the Grammys, earning six trophies throughout his career. While Collier was a Grammy favorite from his first album, “Djesse Vol. 3” was the one to put him on the radar for a lot of folks, earning three Grammy noms including for Album of the Year. That nomination was quite unexpected and launched Collier to a lot more fame, especially as his fusion of jazz/R&b/pop is quite unique and not what many would expect to cross over to the Grammy mainstream. Despite not being a huge commercial artist, Collier might be looking at his biggest year ever at the Grammys with his new album, “Djesse Vol. 4.” But just how much recognition will Collier get?

It’s been almost 20 years since Mariah Carey last won a Grammy, so when she received the Global Impact Award from the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective, she offered a dose of her signature comical shade.
“Is this a real Grammy? I haven’t seen one in soooooo long,” she said Thursday night as she held the award.
“It’s weird. I don’t know,” Carey continued while laughing as the audience at the Fairmont Century Plaza cheered her on. “We’ll figure out what this is later.”
Carey is easily one of the best-selling acts of all-time and holds the record for most No. 1 hits — 20 — by a solo artist. She’s been nominated for 34 Grammys, winning five: best new artist and best female pop vocal performance (“Vision of Love”) in 1991, as well as three R&b honors at the 2006 ceremony for “We Belong Together” and The Emancipation of Mimi.

The singer performed the first date of the tour in Toronto on Sept. 10, with her chatting to Et Canada’s Brittnee Blair ahead of the show.

Braun will focus on his new position as the CEO of Hybe America, the United States branch of the South Korean multinational entertainment company that has K-Pop’s biggest act, BTS, under their umbrella.
This comes after reports that big-name singers like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato are reported to have left Braun’s firm, Sb Projects.
In addition, Braun’s important relationship with Justin Bieber seems to be weakening, with reports that the two will go their separate ways. Representatives for both Bieber and Braun have denied these stories.
Other names who have left Braun’s management circle in the past year include J Balvin and Idina Menzel.
Notable names still under Braun’s Sb Projects include the Black Eyed Peas, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Kid Laroi, Quavo, Tori Kelly and Kelly Rowland.

Braun appeared to have made the remarks in jest and in relation to his former clients, Grande and Lovato ending their professional relationship with Braun on Monday.
Sources confirmed with TheWrap that Lovato’s leave was a mutual and amicable decision between both parties. Braun even shouted Lovato out in a birthday post this past Sunday, seemingly showing a sign that the two’s relationship was steady to some degree.
Meanwhile, speculation that Grande was dipping out from under Braun’s talent managing wing was sparked Monday also after Puck News founding partner, Matthew Belloni, posted that...

Tori Kelly’s release plans for her latest project, a return to her particular blend of pop and R&b titled Tori, were briefly derailed late last month. The weekend before its arrival, the singer had to shift her focus toward recovering after a blood clot-related collapse landed her in the ICU. She had to cancel her release show, but now that she’s feeling better, she’s planning on jumping right back into the game next month with a North American tour.
“It’s been too long,” Kelly wrote on Instagram.
