In the mold of the perennial outsider artist, Scott Becker has
attracted attention from world audiences at various art festivals and
new media exhibitions for the last two decades. Originally educated in
the fine arts as a printmaker in the American Midwest, he went on to
work in the advertising industry as both an art director and commercial
photographer but he soon found his real calling in a series of computer
interactive and Internet based multimedia projects. His anarchistic
self-produced videos first appeared upon Chicago's WTTW's Image Union
program in the early 1980s. by the mid 1980s he had conducted a three
year photographic documentation of the historically rich Lexington
Hotel of Al Capone infamy. He has been a regular on the 'new media'
circuit participating internationally in exhibitions and festivals such
as Commune di Riccione's Bit.Movie '1996, Troyes Pixel 1997, Zoom's 1st
(R) EVOLUTION held in Milan, Italy as well as Internationales Rotario
Paris/Berlin held in 2003. As of this new millenium he has received
both a 'Best Foreign Artist' award and 'Best Animation' award at
Computer Space 2001 and 2004 respectively.
