- Chad Channing was born on January 31, 1967 in Santa Rosa, California, USA. He is a composer, known for Park (2014), Strange Sense of Comfort: Moving On (2021) and Silence (2013).
- Left Nirvana due to creative differences within the band - contrary to popular opinion, his departure was a mutual decision within the band with no hard feelings on either side.
- After leaving Nirvana, started a band called Fire Ants, with Brian and Kevin Wood, brothers of the Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood. The band released the EP "Striped" on 1992. This EP was produced by the legendary grunge producer Jack Endino.
- Chad has also played in other bands, including The Methodists, East of the Equator, Redband, and Before Cars.
- Was in the bands Mind Circus and Tic Dolly Row prior to joining Nirvana.
- As of 2004 he is drumming in a band called East of the Equator, based in Washington State.
