In one of its biggest plays to date, Rainmaker Content, the London-based distributor founded last June by former Kew Media Distribution execs, has acquired international rights to “The Bone Season,” an eight-hour epic thriller series based on Samantha Shannon’s international bestsellers.
Designed as a series franchise – Shannon’s book series now runs to four novels with another three planned – “The Bone Season” is set up at London’s Little Hat Productions.
Well-known for her work as head of production at Bad Penny Prods., Little Hat founder Harriet Hammond will produce the adaptation. “The Bone Season” is executive produced by Hammond and Victor Glynn at Gcb Films.

David Tennant has joined romantic-comedy Fish Without Bicycles alongside Lucy Punch (Bad Teacher) and 2015 Screen Star of Tomorrow Faye Marsay (Game Of Thrones).
Nina Sosanya, Ingrid Oliver and Peter Davison are also joining cast.
The film tells the story of two women’s differing experiences with pregnancy. One is a 40-year-old magistrate, the other a carefree party girl. The twist is that they are in a relationship with each other.
Tennant, known for playing Doctor Who and more recently the villain in Marvel series Jessica Jones and the co-lead in hit TV series Broadchurch, will play the couple’s neighbour John, an obnoxious Scot, who is responsible for one of the pregnancies.

Double Dutch International (Ddi) President, Jason Moring, announced that his sales company has acquired the worldwide sales rights for "Metanoia" and attached "Harry Potter" actor Michael Gambon to the project.
"Metanoia" stars David Tennant ("Harry Potter," "Doctor Who," "Broadchurch"), Elisabeth Moss ( " Mad Men," "Queen of Earth"), will be directed by Robert Mullan, produced by Charlotte Arden and Harriet Hammond, and executive produced by Phin Glynn and Peter Dunphy.
The film is a co-production between Gizmo Films and Bad Penny Productions. "Metanoia" chronicles the world-renowned Scottish psychiatrist Rd Laing's efforts to create a safe haven for people diagnosed with psychosis and schizophrenia. He was known for advocating the medical use of LSD, still legal at the time, and argued for the breaking down of divisions between patients and doctors.
