With just two episodes left in season one of Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History, things are really heating up. Episode seven ended with Jess concluding she needs to break her father out of a prison in Mexico. Episode eight picks up with Jess’s dad, Rafael (Jacob Vargas), in for a shock when he sees Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) has come to visit him.
Billie accuses him of killing her brother and Rafael denies it, insisting it was Salazar who killed her brother. Billie demands the last relic or else she’s going after Jess. “You’re about to find out how it feels to lose the person you love more than anything else in the world,” warns Billie.
Oren (Antonio Cipriano) desperately tries to talk Jess (Lisette Olivera) out of breaking her father out of prison.

We’re halfway through the first season of National Treasure: Edge of History and the action is really heating up. Episode six, “Frenemies,” picks up right where episode five ended as Jess (Lisette Olivera) hops into a car with Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) to avoid the police. Billie claims she knew Rafael (Jess’s dad) and, of course, that piques Jess’s interest.
Billie shows her a medallion – the same one that Jess has – and claims to not only be a daughter of the Plumed Serpent but also insists they’re on the same side.
After Jess texts her friends to assure them she’s fine, she agrees to go to dinner with Billie. Billie shows Jess the medallion again and shows her a picture of her father, Rafael, with another man. Billie explains that the man in the photo is her brother Sebastian,...

Catherine Zeta-Jones in ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ episode 5 (Disney/Brian Roedel)
Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History episode five catches up with Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) who’s busy working with her lackeys to try and figure out what Elvis’s riddle means. Dario (Darri Ingolfsson) thinks he figured it out with his high-tech programs, but Billie knocks his theory out of the running. She believes “twin serpents” doesn’t refer to a “tail” but instead is about a “tale.”
Billie doesn’t know it, but that’s also what Jess latched onto.
Meanwhile, Jess (Lisette Olivera) is having second thoughts about Liam being the mole. However, Tasha (Zuri Reed) is certain he’s Billie’s mole and attempts to convince Jess of that as she sweeps their apartment for bugs. Liam’s ears must be ringing because just then he sends a text to Jess asking her if...

A decade after Dexter Morgan sailed off into the sunset storm, he’s back and ready for some new blood. Showtime officially greenlit a “Dexter” revival in October 2020, with the premiere date taking place on November 7, 2021. Michael C. Hall is back, of course, as the adorably geeky Bay Harbor Butcher, aka the Miami, Fl blood splatter analyst/serial killer who focuses his bloodlust on murdering other serial killers. Original showrunner Clyde Phillips is also back as an executive producer of the new episodes. Here’s everything to know about “Dexter: New Blood” Season 9, including the cast and trailer.

We’re just about a month away from the November 7 premiere of “Dexter: New Blood” on Showtime, which will reunite fans with their favorite serial killer. Little is known about the plot of Season 9, except for the fact that Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is now living a secluded life in Iron Lake, New York after faking his death in the 2013 series finale. His sister Debra Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) will also be a part of the revival, though it’s unclear in what capacity as she died (for real) at the hands of psychopath Oliver Saxon (Darri Ingolfsson) in the final season.
As fans continue to speculate about Carpenter’s mysterious role in “Dexter: New Blood,” let’s take a look at three newly released photos of the former Miami Metro lieutenant.

"When you're a superhero, sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for..." Gravitas has revealed an official trailer for an indie drama My True Fairytale, marking the feature directorial debut of D. Mitry. The short synopsis sets this up quite well: Angie Goodwin runs away after a horrific car crash to make her dream of becoming a superhero come true. The other synopsis says after the crash, Angie "decides to fulfill her childhood fantasy and embarks on a mysterious journey." Her recovery process is very strange. Starring Emma Kennedy as Angie, Darri Ingolfsson, Corin Nemec, Taylor Cole, Alyshia Ochse, Arnold Chun, Hector Hugo, Morgan Lindholm, Bj Mitchell, Juliana Destefano, and Mark Daugherty. This looks quite odd, not exactly as the description explains, but it might still be a worthwhile story to tell. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for D. Mitry's My True Fairytale, direct from YouTube: Angie Goodwin,...

Brave Men’s Blood
Written Hrafnkell Stefansson and Olaf de Fleur
Directed by Olaf de Fleur
Iceland, 2014
Structurally, it’s hard to find much fault with Brave Men’s Blood, an Icelandic film from director Olaf de Fleur, set to premiere on VOD on September 8th. It’s a crime thriller without much fat, and it does an admirable job of jumping straight into the action. At the same time, the film ends up feeling like it could’ve used more fat, as what remains is a fairly dry tale of police corruption and organized crime which doesn’t do much to stand out or warrant its existence.
Some of what little fat there is in the film can be found in the opening scenes, as a young cop, Hannes (Darri Ingolfsson), tries and fails to join a Swat team. His failure is mere character exposition, though—the meat of...

This past Sunday, Showtime’s dark hit drama Dexter wrapped up its eight-season run with a finale that most fans and critics, including our own Christian Law, saw as weak, unsatisfying, lazy and haphazard, but showrunner Scott Buck stands by his decision to end the show in the way he did.
Spoilers for the series finale of Dexter follow.
Following the finale’s overwhelmingly negative reception, Buck told THR that he, for one, was fully satisfied with Dexter‘s swan song, stating:
I’ve also heard that some viewers are not happy with this season, and they all have different reason for it. So much of the stuff you read is that people want the show to be like it was the first few years where Dexter would go out and kill people. If we had continued to follow that line, the show would have gotten old very fast. This...

A storm is coming — literally. Dexter thought he could change, but all the chaos erupting around him suggests otherwise. Has he dug himself a hole as deep as Biscayne Bay, or will he find a way out of it all once more for old time’s sake? This is it folks, enjoy it.
Last episode, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) was well on his way towards a happy ending. Not so fast. He forgot The Code (maybe a long time ago) and now he’s on the verge of either being murdered, being arrested, or watching his sister (Jennifer Carpenter) die. Never a dull moment, Dex!
Thankfully it seems the bullet that Debra took “bounced around,” but it missed all of her major organs — she’s going to be okay.

Dexter always talks about how family is everything to him, and then he goes and underestimates Dr. Vogel’s bond to her Brain Surgeon son, Daniel. Now look what you’ve done, Dex!
Dr. Vogel (Charlotte Rampling) turned to the dark side, after Dexter (Michael C. Hall) arrogantly underestimated the family of family ties. He simply can’t do it alone anymore — will he finally call on his own family and friends to defeat the Brain Surgeon?
Will Vogel Choose Brains Over Blood?
Vogel learned from her mistakes with her son, brain scooper aficionado Daniel (Darri Ingolfsson), in order to craft Dexter into a killing machine. And that’s why Daniel has been going around murdering a ton of people — he’s jealous! There’s so much mommy drama going on my head hurts.
Against her best judgment, Vogel is under the impression that she can help and fix her son.

First of all, Michael explains that the Brain Surgeon’s (Darri Ingolfsson) initial mysteriousness is what sets up such a tense dynamic in the show: “He’s faceless, you know? We don’t know who he is and we thought...

With just three episodes remaining in the entire series, ‘Dexter’ is racing towards its finish line. But deep into the eighth season, it still looks like the show could end in a variety of ways. Will our favorite serial killer be caught? Killed? Will he get away with everything he’s done over the past eight seasons?
Dexter, and the serial killer by the same name, had Labor Day Weekend off. Which is great, because it allowed to us catch our breath but also start spinning our wheels trying to figure out how the show will end. With just three Dexter episodes left, here are five theories, from least crazy to that-could-never-happen insane.

Review Billy Grifter 27 Aug 2013 - 08:35
As Dexter nears its ultimate finale, Billy thinks we're being taken for a ride. Here's his review of Make Your Own Music...
This review contains spoilers.
8.9 Make Your Own Kind Of Music
With so few episodes to go now, when I'm watching Dexter, my concentration is split between what's happening at that moment, and where this is ultimately going. It's the second part that's a major concern now.
The over arching theme we've been given this season is the idea of stability followed by destruction, as each time things calm down, that tranquillity isn't allowed to stand. Vogel doesn't believe that Dexter can stand with a foot in each world, and as such, he's destined to fail as a human being. Is it just me who's getting confused about her definition of a 'perfect psychopath'? Surely, it's Dexter's human side that's helped him remain free until now,...

With Showtime moving up the premiere date of Dexter Season 8 to June 30, the network has come out and already released the first promo for new episodes of this long-running hit.
And while the following video doesn't depict any fresh footage, it does put us alongside the Dark Passenger and remind us of how many people have fallen victim to Dexter and, as of the climactic scene in the Dexter Season 7 finale, to Deb.
Doakes. Prado. Laguerta...
The list is long and Dexter is saying goodbye after this summer. But while these folks are done, everyone's favorite serial killer is most definitely not:

If the rumors are true, death may be coming to "Dexter" ... but not before a new cast of characters hops on board.
TV Guide is reporting that "One Tree Hill" vet Bethany Joy Lenz has joined the Showtime series as Cassie, "an attractive former finance executive looking for a quieter life" who moves in next door to Dexter.
EW has also confirmed that "Last Resort" actor Darri Ingolfsson has booked a recurring role in the show's eighth season as an antique dealer of old medieval equipment who starts dating Dexter’s neighbor, presumably Cassie.
Lenz and Ingolfsson will be joined by "Walking Dead" actor Nick Gomez, Sean Patrick Flanery, Charlotte Rampling and Jennifer Carpenter, who will also appear in Season 8 of "Dexter."
Will Lenz, Ingolfsson and the rest of the gang be another group of victims for Dexter and Deb? It's possible, especially considering the amount of victims the serial...

The first official teaser for the eighth season of Showtime’s Dexter has arrived.
As is typically the case with Dexter teases, there’s no new footage. But it’s an intriguing way of reminding viewers of all the victims of Dex’s Dark Passenger (both directly and indirectly) that may be coming back to haunt him in the show’s home stretch.
Dexter returns June 30 with a slew of guest stars this season, including Charlotte Rampling, Darri Ingolfsson, Bethany Joy Lenz and Sean Patrick Flanery.
Showtime has not confirmed whether this is the final season of Dexter, but CBS Corp.

In three months, the eighth and final season of Dexter, starring Michael C. Hall, will begin.
Every year, we look out for the villain of the season. In Season 4 we got the indomitable John Lithgow as Trinity. Then, after two slow seasons, Ray Stevenson joined the cast as Isaak Sirko, a villain who “almost” had the chance to be great, in season 7.
Now, with the Dexter series finale looming, we’re all wondering who will be Dexter’s ultimate big-mean-baddie.
EW reports that Darri Ingolfsson – of ABC’s cancelled series Last Resort – will be joining Sean Patrick Flanery and Charlotte Rampling as a new cast member. Ingolfsson’s character will have keen insight into medieval equipment (which sounds a little too much like Doomsday).
Season 7 ended with Deb falling victim to Dexter’s web of deceit. She pulled the trigger for Dexter and called an end to “Doakes round 2.” C’est la vie Laguerta.

An actor from ABC’s Last Resort has washed ashore in Dexter Morgan’s Miami.
Showtime’s Dexter has added Darri Ingolfsson for its eighth — and likely final — season.
Ingolfsson (who played a senatorial aide dating a weapons lobbyist on the ABC series) will play an antique dealer of old medieval equipment who starts dating Dexter’s (Michael C. Hall) neighbor in a multi-episode arc. That description provokes all sorts of plot possibilities, doesn’t it?
Season 8 also features guest arcs with Charlotte Rampling as a neuro-psychiatrist who specializes in working with young psychopaths and profiling criminals in unorthodox ways,...

UK-based production designer/art director Melanie Light has written and directed Escape, a short film whose Nevada shoot she describes as "grueling"; and since she figures it "may as well go somewhere," she's decided to put it up on the Internet, which of course means we have it for you right here!
Synopsis:
A short story of a man (Darri Ingolfsson) and a woman (Julia Sandberg Hansson) meeting in a bar. The woman, recently divorced, has her guard down; and the handsome lonely man makes his move. They hit if off, but the night doesn't end the way the woman intended, and she becomes his toy a bit more than she imagined. A real play on the dangers of a one-night stand.
Here's how Light describes the experience: Shot over basically 48 hours in the beautiful ghost town of Gold Point, Nevada, this is [my] third short film, which was solely produced,...
