A group of YouTube TV subscribers has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Disney, claiming that the company’s business deals with competitors have inflated the amount consumers pay for streaming live TV services.
The plaintiffs from four states claim that, because Disney requires streamers including YouTube TV to include ESPN in base packages, they are paying extra more for their subscriptions than they should.
The 82-page class-action complaint filed this week in U.S. District Court in San Francisco (read it here) alleges that Disney’s control of both ESPN and Hulu has allowed the conglomerate to “inflate prices marketwise by raising the prices of its own products” and also “set a price floor.”
According to the suit: “Together, these carriage agreement mandates — which now cover all of Disney’s leading competitors in the Slptv Market — allow Disney to use ESPN and Hulu to set a price floor in the...

Dubai, Sep 20 (Ians) The International Cricket Council (Icc) on Tuesday made the ban on the use of saliva to polsih the ball a permanent affair, while also introducing a clause whereby any “unfair” and “deliberate movement” while the bowler is running in to bowl could now result in the umpire awarding five penalty runs to the batting side, in addition to a call of ‘dead ball’.
The Icc has announced several changes to its ‘playing conditions’ after the Chief Executives’ Committee (Cec) ratified the recommendations from the Sourav Ganguly-led Men’s Cricket Committee.
The main changes to the playing conditions come into effect from October 1, 2022, which means they will be applicable in the Icc T20 World Cup in Australia from October 16.
In a statement on the use of saliva to polish the ball, Icc said, “This prohibition has been in place for over two years in international cricket as...

“Sex Education” producer Eleven has cast “Ten Pound Poms,” a drama series from “Brassic” creator Danny Brocklehurst for BBC and Australian streamer Stan.
Michelle Keegan (“Brassic”), Faye Marsay (“Game of Thrones”) and Warren Brown (“The Responder”) lead the cast alongside Australian actors Rob Collins (“Mystery Road”), Leon Ford (“Elvis”), Declan Coyle (“Long Black”), David Field (“Shantaram”), Stephen Curry (“Hounds of Love”), Hattie Hook (“Savage River”), Finn Treacy (“The Portable Door”) and Emma Hamilton (“The Tudors”).
The six-part series follows a group of Brits as they leave dreary post-war Britain in 1956 to embark on a life-altering adventure on the other side of the world, in sun-soaked Australia. But life down under isn’t exactly the idyllic dream the new arrivals have been promised.
Brocklehurst said: “ ‘Ten Pounds Poms’ demands an ensemble cast that we are always rooting for, actors we love and want to succeed. I am thrilled to have found those actors.
