When it comes to her role in Fox’s Scream Queens, Lea Michele says she knows exactly what sealed the deal: “I think it was really just because [Ryan Murphy] was afraid of the meltdown of post-Glee for me.”
This is one of several candid thoughts Michele shares in TVLine’s exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the slasher comedy, premiering Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 9/8c.

Faster than a speeding bullet, the pilot for CBS’ Supergirl has illegally leaked onto file-sharing sites.
VideosCBS’ Supergirl Trailer Debuts
CBS ordered the buzzy superhero drama to series barely two weeks ago, and only unveiled the first footage last Wednesday, May 13, during its annual Upfront presentation to advertisers.
The leaking of pilots for an upcoming TV season is nothing new, though Supergirl‘s super-fast pirating would seem to set a land-speed record for a high-profile project. Last summer, for example, the pilots for The Flash and Constantine — also comics book-based fare appealing to a certain crafty, passionate crowd — didn’t...

Season in and season out, the Super Bowl is the most-watched broadcast across all of television for the calendar year. There are two things that reality TV fans love more than anything else. One is judging people who behave badly. (Think: Real Housewives.) The other is anything “extreme.” (Think: Extreme Makeover.) So it was only a matter of time before Bravo used the word “extreme” to target what might be the most judgmental audience alive: people with kids.

Here’s the IndieGoGo trailer for Same Difference: “A feature length documentary that presents the lives of two adolescent boys who identify as gay from a young age. Graeme Taylor, now 18 and off to college, grows up and goes to school in a supporting environment that allows him to thrive. Justin Aaberg (1994-2010) unfortunately grows up and goes to a school filled with intolerant backwards policies and scandal. Justin was just one of nine teens that took their lives while attending the Anoka-Hennepin School District between 2009-2011. This resulted...

What’s the first thing you think of when you hear Dead or Alive? That question will without a doubt have a wide range of answers depending on who you ask, especially considering the fact that something called Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball exists. In my case, that game was my only exposure to the series until recently, and though I had a feeling that all Dead or Alive games were pretty much campy, shameless boob-a-thons, I felt like it was only fair to play one of the real entries in the notorious fighting series to at least give it a chance, and get a feel for what’s actually going on. After spending some time with Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, I can confidently report that it too is shameless in its breast-centric visual presentation. That said, it’s a blast to play, it packs tons of content, and...

The next time you go to Walt Disney World—and you should—make sure to carve out some time in your vacation planning to see the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The 40-minute show has a simple setup: you, the audience, get to see how car chases from movies like Ronin or The Rock get staged and filmed, all the way from what the stuntmen wear to the various types of tricked-out cars employed in such fast-paced sequences. In the show, a handful of minor car chases are executed, centered around a bland, nondescript thriller plot in which the good driver has to outrun a number of bad drivers because he has a MacGuffin of sorts that they want. The fun isn’t in the been-there, seen-that plot, but in watching cars careen around curves,...

From the 5:2 diet to Tiger Mothers and the furore over skivers-and-strivers, discipline has become the guiding principle that informs our lives. But is it a step too far when having Ocd and increased workloads become a badge of honour?
We have reached the end game of have-it-all culture. Because I'm Worth It has had its day, and discipline is the new decadence. The Nike Fuel Band, which tracks your calorie expenditure and praises you for an active lifestyle, has more smug-factor than a Rolex right now. The dominant meme of annoying Facebook behaviour has segued from the posting of party photos to "inspirational" quotes (American men – Henry Ford, Albert Einstein, Ralph Waldo Emerson – are especially hot right now). Meanwhile, the narrative of reality TV has changed: bad behaviour in the hot tub, à la early Big Brother, has been replaced, from The Voice to The Apprentice, by Saturday-night preaching...

Just because ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW are rolling out all their finest, doesn’t mean all the cable networks have hung out the Gone Fishin’ signs. There are still plenty of good series to look forward to from the likes of Showtime, TLC, BBC America et al. (Well, except maybe Texas Multi Mamas on We. What the heck is that?)

The word "extreme" seems to get thrown around a lot these days. We have extreme sodas, extreme sporting events, and so on and so forth. And we're a little skeptical about some of these things, to be honest. So we'll just actually have to tune in to the show 'Extreme Cuisine With Jeff Corwin' (Thu., 8Pm Et on Food Network) -- in order to learn if it's really Extreme To The Max.
On the latest episode of the show, host (and "food anthropologist") Jeff Corwin travels to New Zealand, where he hunts down an obscure species of eel. Supposedly, these eels are good eating, but in order to reach them, you have to rappel down into a cave. Also, the cave is pitch black, and is filled with waist-deep, freezing cold water.

UK Super Mario Kart fanatics take note: You need order a pizza, get some beers in and call your mates over on Friday. Why? Because Super Mario Kart is hitting the UK Wii Virtual Console this Friday, April 2nd, making it a very Good Friday indeed.
Super Mario Kart arrived on Us and Japan Virtual Consoles in 2009, so whatever Nintendo’s reason for the UK delay, it is now over.
Forget Baby Mario, forget blue shells and Npc’s driving around in prams. This Friday It Is On Like Donkey Kong, but, again, not like Baby Mario. Toad for life! (check out this Extreme Super Mario Bros. 2 comedy video for another reason why Toad is awesome…)
Now the only title left any of us really, truly cares about that has not yet appeared on Virtual Console is Pilot Wings. Let’s hope that one arrives before the next Nintendo console comes out.
