The writers of The Simpsons (1989) make reference to Felt (aka "Deepthroat") in the
episode "Sideshow Bob Roberts," (Sixth Season; episode 2F02 ) where a
mysterious figure is providing information (hence, a whistle-blower)
about electoral fraud regarding the election of Sideshow Bob to Lisa
and Bart Simpson. It is discovered soon after a brief meeting that the
whistle-blower is in fact Waylon Smithers, who is providing information
only because he disagrees with Sideshow Bob's views on his
"lifestyle"
The LA Times Obit for Mr. Felt states that he was an unpaid consultant to the television series "The FBI." from 1965 to 1974.
Son of Rose R. (Dygert) and Mark Earl Felt, a carpenter and building contractor. His paternal grandfather was a Free Will Baptist minister.
