“I felt good about the first night. I was singing Kelly Clarkson. I’m singing her song in close to her key and it was ‘Wizard of Oz Night’ and I didn’t necessarily pick that song,” reveals Scott Porter while reflecting on his time as Gumball on “The Masked Singer.” “During dress rehearsal that night, I thought I had it all together and I had a panic attack.” Watch our full video interview above.
Despite a rocky start that landed him in a smackdown, Scott was able to survive all the way to the Season 11 finale, where he finished runner-up to Vanessa Hudgens as Goldfish. Although Vanessa had no clue she was competing with her “Bandslam” co-star, Scott recognized her voice instantly.

I started singing on street corners in Orlando, Florida when I was going to high school. I auditioned for two straight years for Disney and couldn’t book a role. Spoiler Alert: Details follow for Season 11, Episode 13 of “The Masked Singer,” “Finale: One Mask Takes It All,” which aired May 22 on Fox.
“The Masked Singer” winner Vanessa Hudgens admits she didn’t necessarily play the hiding game: At least among her friends and fans, they figured out it was her under the Goldfish costume rather quickly.
“Rita [Ora] guessed it was me straight from the jump,” Hudgens said. “But she’s also my friend. And we saw each other a few days before the first episode!”
Hudgens beat out Scott Porter, who had performed this season as Gumball, to win the “Masked Singer” trophy. Coincidentally, both Hudgens and Porter previously starred together in 2009’s “Bandslam.”
Despite their history, Hudgens said the production kept her completely in the dark as to who her competitors were. “I was so invested every step of the way,” she said. “I was trying really hard to...

“I didn’t think I was going to get that far,” admits Thelma Houston, the legendary Grammy-winning diva who placed third on “The Masked Singer” as Clock. “There have been some other divas out there that we know well that didn’t get quite that far, so I said, ‘Well, as long as I can do as good as they did that would be great.’ To go this far was just a surprise to me. It was one of the most challenging things I have ever done, trust and believe.”
The 81-year old revealed in one of her clue packages that she skipped the 1978 Grammy Awards because she never though she’d win for her classic Motown hit “Don’t Leave Me This Way.” She explains, “Two years prior to that I had been nominated for a Grammy before. “Initially I did say no,” admits Golden Globe nominated actress Chrissy Metz while discussing her participation as Poodle Moth on the Fox reality TV series “The Masked Singer.” “I didn’t think I could do it. I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m the girl for the job.’ Also, I run hot, especially in my face. How am I going to have a mask on and sing in the way that I’m supposed to sound good? It took some convincing. Ultimately, I realized it was really fun, challenging and liberating.” Watch her exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson above.
Metz was unmasked as Poodle Moth on Wednesday night’s quarter-finals episode of Season 11. She went home in fourth place as Clock, Goldfish and Gumball advanced to next week’s semi-finals. Panelist Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg was the only one who guessed her identity.

The Season 11 quarter-finals took place on “The Masked Singer” Wednesday, May 8 on “The Final Four Night.” After singing their hearts out for panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora, Gumball and Poodle Moth landed in the bottom two and were forced to sing for a spot in the semi-finals. The Gumball prevailed, forcing Poodle Moth to reveal herself as Golden Globe nominee Chrissy Metz (“This is Us”). Watch her unmasking above.
“I still think I’m educating people on me being a singer,” she told host Nick Cannon during her unmasked interview. “It was part of the reason why I wanted to do this show. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Masked Singer Season 11 Episode 10 “Quarter Finals: Final Four.”] And then there were three. The Masked Singer is getting closer and closer to naming another winner, with Clock, Goldfish, Gumball, and Poodle Moth competing in the quarterfinals. Sadly, one had to go home, and the celebrity in the Poodle Moth costume was none other than This Is Us star and singer Chrissy Metz. Below, Metz talks about her time on the show. What made you say yes to doing The Masked Singer? Did you have any hesitations? Chrissy Metz: Yeah, of course. First of all, it’s hard enough to sing without a costume on, and then the lights and the pressure and the audience and the judges… Music is my first love. So it was something that I wanted to do and I love to do, but I was like, can I do it? I don’t know if...

“Abbott Elementary” received the same three supporting acting Emmy nominations across its first two seasons: Janelle James and Sheryl Lee Ralph for supporting actress and Tyler James Williams for supporting actor. The comedy is likely to pick up those three bids again for its third season this year, but will it score any beyond that? Also eligible are Lisa Ann Walter in supporting actress (eighth place in our combined odds), as well as Chris Perfetti (10th place) and William Stanford Davis (21st place) in supporting actor — and their categories may be open enough for them finally to break in.
Walter, Perfetti and Davis missing for Season 1 is not at all surprising. Selena Gomez has seen her “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars and guest stars get nominated for and win Emmys the past two years while she sat on the sidelines. Will the third time finally be the charm? She’s currently in fifth place in the Best Comedy Actress odds. Given her previous snubs, you’d be justified to doubt her chances, but we’ve been through this before with a twice snubbed actress-singer who pulled through on her third try under very similar circumstances: Mandy Moore.

Keep reading for all your “The Masked Singer” spoilers including the answer to the question, “Who is Poodle Moth”?
We are convinced that Poodle Moth is Chrissy Metz. Although best known for her starring role in the TV drama “This Is Us,” Metz is also a talented singer, focusing on inspirational music.

Jo Hartley and Rory Kinnear are back for Bank Of Dave 2, currently entitled Bank Of Dave: The Sequel. More here.
Released on Netflix early in 2023 was the very British tale, Bank Of Dave. Starring Rory Kinnear and Jo Hartley, it told the real-life story of a man called Dave (you might have guessed that), who set up a community bank to help small, local businesses (you could probably have guessed that too).

This time, the foe of the piece will be payday loan companies, an easy to hate villain. New recruit to the ensemble Chrissy Metz will play an...

Seeking shelter from a blizzard during Christmastime, two hikers (played by Scout Taylor-Compton and Connor Paolo) get more than they bargained for when they break into the house of a mother (Chrissy Metz) and her daughter (Annalise Basso), who are harboring a transformative—and deadly—secret in the new (and very aptly named) holiday horror film A Creature Was Stirring.
An eerily unpredictable and intensely entertaining gift for horror fans to unwrap this holiday season, A Creature Was Stirring is coming to theaters on December 8th and Digital on December 12th via Well Go USA.

The differences between Damien LeVeck’s sophomore effort A Creature Was Stirring and his feature debut The Cleansing Hour are staggering. His instincts are ironclad in the cleanly polished and despicable exorcism thriller that stands as one of Shudder’s best original releases in 2020. Unfortunately, A Creature Was Stirring doesn’t replicate the same accomplished approach as an ambitious yet scattershot blast of subgenres. Psychological chills, creature thrills, and family dysfunction become this unfocused commentary on the looming specter of addiction. LeVeck takes risk after risk — the filmmaker’s fearlessness should not be ignored — but there’s a befuddling all-over-the-place-ness that does not play into the film’s favor.
Chrissy Metz (of This Is Us fame) stars as the seemingly single mother Faith, who we meet barricaded inside with her daughter Charm (Annalise Basso) during a lethal blizzard. Now, Charm suffers from some affliction that Faith uses her nursing background...
